When in the process will more information about evidence collected against BC be revealed?

That is interesting. Could mean the family is not on the same page as LE.
I think it just means that private parties are offering more money (trying to be helpful), but don't have the info LE probably has at-hand. (just my guess)

I dont blame the famiy. I dont think they care about the legal process, rather its all about finding YY and bringing her back home to rest. Apparently, they are also in the dark. What can they do? Hire a private investogator? How can they sit around and wait for answers?

I don't think he necessarily planned to kill whoever he abducted that day, but I think he may have had it in his mind as an option if things didn't go right. I think he is so twisted he assumed the person would be into it and he could have kept them somewhere or asserted his dominance so they were afraid to go to police. This was a serial predator/possibly murderer in the making. If he hadn't been caught this time I think he most certainly wouldn't have stopped and probably just became more bold. I really hope LE has some powerful evidence besides what we know so he never sees freedom again.

Hello everyone. This is my 1st post. I've been following along and am amazed with your sleuthing. I just heard on Fox Springfield News at Nine that there is going to be a news conference in the morning. They announced that after announcing the reward has been raised to find her. Let's hope they release more details. I can't wait until we can discuss some of the off limit subjects, if we ever get to. I think LE probably has seen things I've noticed on my own being nosy, but this waiting and suspense is driving me nuts!

...Bold added

care to say what you've "noticed," or is it best left unmentioned, or too gossipy to mention?
News conf. in morning sounds a bit ominous, but maybe just requesting more assistance from public. Yeah, I'm sure the "suspense" is driving us all nuts...

I can't really say yet because it's an off limits person I've noticed some things about.

:wagon:

If true, money talks. Nothing like 50k to get someone to speak up.

I think bc has intentionally waited all this time to reveal where her body is because the longer it takes to find her, the more decomposition will have taken place and the less evidence of what all he did to her there will be. By now there's probably nothing left IF she was left intact. We may never know her actual cause of death. I can't help but think that because of his scientific knowledge and possible access to certain parts of the university's medical school area if he could have disposed of her like they do their cadavers. It's a gruesome thought, but I wouldn't put anthi g past this particular psychopath.

ITA. Yes, even with all his smarts, he is indeed a psychopath.

Don't know if this has been posted or not.

http://www.wjbdradio.com/local-news...salem-last-month-wasnt-missing-kidnap-victim-

From the article:

"Green traveled to Champaign Tuesday to meet with the parents of 26-year-old Yingying Zhang to show them video surveillance of the woman who apparently had been mistaken for her daughter. Green says they were able to see the woman in the video was not their daughter. They were also shown that the same woman that was in Salem on June 16th selling jewelry had also been in Salem on May 19th before Zhang was missing.

<snip>

Green says the news was disappointing to Zhang's family who continue to try and determine if their daughter is dead or alive. The person believed to have kidnapped her on June 9th, 28-year-old Brendt Christensen, is now in custody. The FBI has indicated they believe Zhang is dead."

Flowers, anger, regret as accused kidnapper indicted

A reader called The News-Gazette to say she'd seen on Wednesday's front page the photograph of the single, weathered floral bouquet left at the spot on campus where Ms. Zhang was last seen and was moved to order a fresh arrangement.

By late afternoon, a pink bouquet had been laid near the corner of West Clark Street and North Goodwin Avenue, with a card that read: "Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Family and Friends of Yingying Zhang during their trying time."

I've been lurking on this thread from the start and just wanted to say that I'm very impressed by your level of sleuthing and compassion. This post in particular just got to me though. Something in this small gesture of a (supposed) stranger to Yingying wishing to replace a single bouquet of old, tired flowers with a fresh one just leaves me infinitely sad, yet also solaced. It saddens me that this is all that is left in that spot now where a beautiful, smart lady once stood. But also comforted that there are good people out there who care and want to contribute in such a small way.
Thanks for all the updates too. Every day I come in here hoping for news, I can't imagine what her family are going through.
