a lot of interesting things being brought up, but one thing I'm still stuck on, already noted by Kitty, is why the cadaver dog evidence isn't mentioned? Did the Defense somehow get that quashed, or poke enough holes in it that prosecution isn't bothering with it? (I thought it would be pretty important?)
Defense queried it . But Judge refers to it in his instructions to the jury, but possibly those instructions were written while evidence was still 'in'. Maybe it's no longer 'in'.
The redacted March conversation which contains the guts of the investigation rationale and allegedly details his actions with YY and his contemplated actions for his next 'ideal victim'.
The utter sadism of using the March to stalk is highly inflammatory but if it's the truth, why redact it?

Thanks for that.
Next question is whether it is on a direct route between the place he collected her and his apartment or was it off direct? route?

It is straight north on Goodwin past university -the direction BC was headed after picking her up. It is actually a route to get to One North Lincoln, the complex she needed to go to. If you go north on Goodwin, Goodwin ultimately ends in a t-intersection at Bradley (directly across from the southwest edge of One North, fwiw). If you turn right, you are headed toward Lincoln ave, which is where you would go to take her to the apartment complex she intended to lease at. If you go left on Bradley, you go west back toward HIS apartment. Bradley is a 4 lane main road that connects to a number of main roads that he could then take to get back to his apartment on Springfield.

Is it possible that YY was dead when he brought her into his apartment?
#KidnappingCausingDeath
The now redacted march conversation was reported to describe a massive struggle, she put up a huge fight. Did she die in that first immobilisation effort by him?
Did he bring her dead body home to abuse it further?

Somebody on social media just commented that reason march tapes were redacted was due to personally identifiable information concerning private individuals who are not related to the case.
Same person stated he only had publicly available information, unable to opine on whether or not entire conversation/tape is eliminated. (I know, I know, social media comments reports...)

That makes sense. This was a conversation that took place surrounded by others who were engaged in conversations unrelated to what was being surveiled.

I strongly doubt the *entire* tape and transcript is redacted. The defense tried to get this thrown out on the grounds that other people were recorded, and the judge denied this motion. Redacting the whole thing would be a de facto granting of the defense's motion to exclude this. Likely, the jury will be able to hear the whole thing, and the parts redacted in the transcript will be things said by others, and not TEB and BC.

OMG. A baseball bat??? How bad is this gonna get??

As I have said before, this trial is going to be sick and extremely sad.

IF it is included in the government exhibits, then it is something that is important to their case and is evidence that supports at least one (or more) of the factors they have to prove....

If it happens to be some of YY's personal belongings....well..

I will be interested to see what these things are. I tend to think that they aren't any of her belongings, as these things were photographed on the 20th of June, ten days before his arrest. IF they found some of her belongings, that might have been enough to arrest him on the 20th, and I would think that some of those belongings would have been entered into the exhibit list.

Whatever they are, again, they must be things that support their case and provide evidence proving the elements they have to prove.

Maybe, maybe not. Without a direct link it is mere speculation. We simply do not know at this stage. I never saw it discussed apart from the objection you just referenced.

Thursday, May 30th:
*Final Pretrial (Status) Hearing (@ 2:30pm ET) - IL - Yingying Zhang (26) (missing on June 9, 2017, Urbana; not found) - *Brendt A. Christensen (28) indicted (6/30/17) on kidnapping (Federal charge) resulting in death of Yingying and 2 counts of giving false statements to FBI. Plead not guilty. Held without bond. DA will seek DP.
5/30: Status Conference; 6/3: Trial begins with jury selection; trial should last about 5 weeks.
Court hearings from 1/11/19 thru 4/30/19 reference post #488 here:
Still Missing - IL - Yingying Zhang, 26, Urbana, 9 June 2017 #8 *Arrest*

5/1/19 Update: Status Conference set for 5/29/2019 is reset for Thursday, 5/30/2019 at 2:30pm.
5/13/19 Update: Christensen’s attorneys & federal prosecutors went back & forth Monday, arguing about the best practices for selecting the jury. During the selection process, both sides will have an opportunity to screen jurors by asking them pre-approved questions that look to uncover a potential juror’s views on the death penalty and prior knowledge of the case, among other things. Currently, there are 476 potential jurors that will be brought in for the selection process. The parties must narrow that pool down to 14 jurors, making up a 12-person jury with six alternates. During Monday’s hearing, Assistant Federal Defender Robert Tucker asked the judge to slow down the selection process by scheduling 20, instead of 40, potential jurors per day for questioning. The judge acknowledged the defense’s concerns but ultimately decided to keep the schedule as is and adjust if needed. Eventually, they'll need to get to a list of 70 potential jurors, from which each side will be able to strike 23 without having to give a reason. Jury selection is set to begin June 3. Next final status conference on 5/30.

I don't understand why a book like American Psycho could be published, possibly setting off "s and m "psychos. I'm not a big fan of censorship usually, but this is so incredibly horrific and now clear proof it is consumed by an evil dangerous man?

Just to confirm, is the trial starting June 3? Thanks.

I cannot imagine what is there, my first thought was of trophies from previous activities. We have worked this case up and down and in and out for two full years, almost and we cannot even begin to imagine what objects he has deemed fit to be held securely.
But they just photographed these objects, they did not remove them, is that correct?
Means they were his personal possessions?
YY was gone awhile, almost 2 weeks when these were examined. I'm not sure how much pressure he experienced in those 2 weeks. My instinct is that he destroyed or hid carefully any incriminating info he held, such as video footage, photos, recordings etc of the attack.
I do not believe he could have resisted an urge to film or photograph every lurid detail. If he held the photos we discussed in his hd because they stimulated some of his instincts/senses repeatedly, it's unlikely he wanted to forget this one quickly. His first, maybe.
I have always believed he had time and opportunity to hide and destroy evidence.

I'm enmeshed deeply in this case and I cannot answer your question with any certainty. I thought the 9th, possibly? Niner made a post yesterday with dates,I think. Sorry, they have deferred trial so many times at this stage that the mind stalls at any certainty it will go ahead at all. It's been deadlocked and horrible for ages now, kinda feeling like we are all puppets of a macabre justice system playing games with the minds of all and sundry who share a genuine compassion grief and horror at what has apparently happened to a sweet young girl on her first and only trip away from her homeland.

Yes. IT starts on June 3rd. The first order of business is jury selection. They estimate that will take a week or so, but could take longer. After that will come their opening statements. Probably not much of note will happen during jury selection, so it will really get going sometime the following week.

Thanks! Will there be videos? If so, where can I see it (not necessarily live), e.g. youtube?
