Immunity and the A Family- **MERGED**Charges??

respectfully snipped

In this case wouldn't the defense want the A's front and center to show their support for the accused even after the loss of their GD. Wouldn't that be likely to have some impact on the jury?

I doubt very sincerely that Casey's defense will reflect anything that looks like the support of her family. In fact, I imagine it will be quite the opposite.

Debs do you think that the defense will throw KC's family under the bus or that the family will testify against KC?

You never can tell. It depends on their strategy and on how they want her family percieved. For instance if they want CA seen as a controlling mother- it might pay to have her in the courtroom if they or the state is going to put her on the stand. IF the questions put to her show her to be controlling then every time she leans toward KC the jury is going to wonder just how controlling she was.

Here is the bigger question in my mind...Will the A's want to be in court...So far they have not showed up for any, and I don't think they will for this one

Oh! I think they'll show up, one way or another!

There are quite a few ways this can go. I do not believe that Casey Anthony is concerned with what is in the best interests of her family and if it can be suggested that they in any way are culpable for the death of Caylee, I believe not only has she leapt on it, but that she is spending HOURS outlining the details.

If the Anthonys testify, they will probably be first, so that they can sit in the courtroom for the rest of the trial. The Petersons and the Rochas were not barred from the courtroom.

Which would be interesting. They will try to portray KC in a good light and then her defense team will throw them under the bus. Karma's a B*&#$! If I were the Anthonys I would not want to go 1st. I'd want to scope out the defense's strategy 1st.

That wouldn't surprise me from KC and her team. Do you think all, none, or individual members of the family will testify against KC?

I don't think they'l put CA on the stand as she is about as credible as KC, IMO.

Confining CA to answers for just the questions asked would be like trying to herd cats. She would be a nightmare witness for either side, I think. What about GA?

I am sorry! I seem to have wandered a bit away from the title of this thread into a 'trial in general' direction.

To get me back on topic a little more, I have a question. What is Lee's position inside this family? We have discused KC's relationship with both GA and CA in depth. I think LA's relationships with his parents will influence his decision to testify or not. Any thoughts?

I see Lee as his mother's emotional strength (crutch) and I see him as disdainful of his father's impotence as a partner for his mother if only because he's made to fill that role.

IMO, GA is the best bet for a witness within the family. LA, IMO will be cocky and arrogant just as he has been all along. I have no reason to believe him being on the stand will change his demeanor in any way, shape or form.

I sorta see LA as a man at the end of his rope. He has been through a great deal. Who, in this family, ever seemed to worry about Lee? Everyone seems to have accommodated KC. Did LA ever get in trouble? Need monetary or emotional help? Was Lee raised up by his family or did they concentrate on KC so much that he was left to raise himself?

Do you mean will influence the state's decision to call him? He doesn't get to make the decision as to whether or not to testify for the state. If they call him, he goes.... if they don't call him he doesn't. If he is called and doesn't go then he better be dead or in ICU.

I realize the state gets to call him but he still gets to decide just how much or how little he says, if he is willing or unwilling, that sort of thing. I was wondering if he'll stick to family, come H*** or high water or will he be the one to tell the whole truth and let the chips fall.

(I loved your dead or ICU comment! LOL!)

IMO, LA is as mixed up emotionally as bad as the rest of the disfunctional family.
The whole family unit looks like they are co dependent on each other. And I think each one is afraid to break the unit of 4 up. IMo
