In the long police interview transcript with KAK, a masked man lurking at a girl's house EXACTLY one week after the murders. Is this related? Is this RA too?

Was the interview ever verified to be legit? I know LE put out a statement saying it didn't come from them, but was it legit and just got leaked? Public record?

It's a shirt that the girls family had made after the murders. Kind of like memorial shirts, I think.I believe they sold them. They were tye-dye with words on the back.

Just trying to imagine how he spent 10 days going about his normal life after the search of his house before getting busted, & apparently didn’t even get in touch with a lawyer … JMO

Never heard who came forward with the photo of Abby. I remember that the video of BG was said to have been from Libby's cloud account and not from her phone. I wonder if that's where the Abby photo was from, too.

As to the bolded, LE never confirmed or said this. You may be remembering that police did not confirm that the phone was found right away. There was much discussion here on Websleuths and other places about why an offender would leave the phone and many people speculated that the phone was taken or destroyed and the video of the man must have come from Libby's cloud account.

Eventually LE released info about the fact that the phone was found in the vicinity of the crime scene, and now many news articles have specified that the video was taken directly from her phone:

Police released the images they say were taken straight from Libby’s cell phone, on Feb. 15, 2017 — the day after the girls’ bodies were found.

Additionally, right before the last thread closed, you also made a post that stated LE had ruled out a sexual motivation in the murders. I don't remember ever seeing specific motivations being ruled out (I remember some members of LE saying they don't know what the motivation was, which is a different thing). Can you provide a link that shows what you stated?

Oh, no - that was why I said “apparently”! (How would anyone know that “for a fact” lol) there was concern as recently as last week that he was still unrepresented a week after his arrest … and he had that 10-day head start, but still no lawyer last time checked.

His neighbors did say he went about normal business in those 10 days after 10/16 search, going to work at CVS and such. That was the first suggestion of possible deep deep denial imo. Altho there was some ambiguity about where exactly he was picked up on 10/26, so it’s possible he made some attempt to flee IMO at least til facts come out to say one way or another.

Neighbors said they frequently saw him outside smoking cigarettes and drinking beer and we know that he frequented bar(s) and was a regular on the pool scene. A lot of people turn into someone completely different when they are drinking. Richard could be a total monster when drunk but just a normal average guy when not drunk. Or maybe there is a level of alcohol he can consume but beyond that he turns into a completely different person. The gait on the bridge makes me wonder about his intoxication level.

As someone who's never had to hire a lawyer for anything, and also someone with the normal vested social interest in how I am perceived, I don't even know what I would do if I was the target of such an investigation. Imagine being Mr. Family Man, maintaining a hum drum life, and then suddenly being in this position. Where would I even start?

When I need a professional, I usually reach out to my friends and neighbors for advice. "Hey, I need some minor repairs, anyone know someone reputable in the area?" Extrapolate that to a double murder. "Hey, so I'm being looked at for that famous double murder from five years ago. Anyone know a good lawyer?" Add potential death-penalty case and small town to the mix, and I'd imagine I have no choice but to request a public defender.

I don't think RA or most anyone could have successfully pulled this off being drunk. Uneven railroad ties, down the hill, wading across a stream, killing the girls, getting out mostly undetected.

However, as far as alcoholism is concerned and it's effects, I've seen several people who were extremely angry not when they are drunk but instead when they were hung over. Irritable, angry, cross, short tempered, etc. That was actually like I was 24 years ago before I gave up drinking. I even yelled at a 15 year old girl in her face who had skipped in line at a breakfast buffet one morning when I was hungover and traveling. Very ashamed of myself now.

I've always thought that BG approached them initially "to teach them a lesson" just to maybe scare them by him acting like an authority figure. They may have giggled at him when he passed by the first time (presumption). Why he may have had a knife and/or gun with him may have just been his normal.

When they "misbehaved again" and ran, he went further into a rage, chased them and killed them.

But this is 100% just my opinion and no facts at all to back it up

I’m in the camp that thinks somehow RA is “connected” to KAK. I mean what are the odds of Libby being in contact with an online predator and then just coincidentally comes face to face with another predator hours later? It’s just hard not to acknowledge this dynamic.

However, I’ve been wondering if RA was bullied as a kid/teenager due to his size, or lack thereof.

His appearance changes drastically over the years. In some pics he looks like a weak little man and in others he looks tough, mean and much bigger than he really is. That long goatee gives him a mean look. Did he do that on purpose to counteract his small stature?

Before all the KAK stuff came to the forefront, I wondered if the girls said something derogatory about RA and he heard them.

Could something like that have set him off?

Just throwing around some thoughts this morning.

re the goatee. At the time of the murders (going from pictures of him Christmas 2016 where he was clean shaven), he must have only recently started with the goatee. I do know that goatees and beard have become popular in recent yeats, so perhaps he was just going with the trend.

I think we have ascertained that his height is around 5'7-5'8 so hardly short, short, just average short. Perhaps the goatee is a mid life crisis kinda thing - but the growing of it does fit in with the drawing of BG.

I have two ways of looking at this.
1. RA is innocent and initially thinks he doesn;t need a lawyer. Then when the gravity of the situation hes in kicks in, he disengages completely.
2. RA has something very bad to hide and is expecting some other 'friends' to dig him out of the mess he's in.

Its probably neither of these .

I've been thinking about to the day the girls went missing and when the search roughly started and ended on the 13th. Do we know if they searched where the girls were discovered (the night before the girls were found), did they search that area on the 13th? It's hard to wrap my mind around their first search, which was around 5 to 6 hrs long and they were not found that night.

I always thought I saw a gun in BG’s jacket pocket JMO… but even if not, there was no question in my mind that he had rope sticking up out the collar. But now I realize the “rope” may’ve been bandana-type neckwear to hide his face, per the witness who saw him with it up.

In any case…. whether gun, rope, mask (remember this was before the pandemic), catfishing and/or stalking, & caught-on-tape abduction “down the hill,” hard to imagine he wasn’t there very specific trouble on his mind. Even if not quite premeditated murderous intent … premeditated felonious intent at least MOO

Yeah I hear you … idk quite what I’d do either. But…….. I don’t think I’d just go about my asst mgr job at CVS. Tbh I’d have expected BG to try to take his own life if he got word LE was closing in on him! Glad he didn’t.

When I saw the stuff about RMA’s daughter in A&L’s shirt, I wondered is he taunting the community, or has he convinced himself that he didn’t do it ?
