It was a horrible crime. There's nothing so terrifying as the image of the killer walking towards the girls on that rotten bridge; nothing so chilling and heart-stopping as the sound of his voice commanding them "down the hill". I can't imagine how terrified they were in those last moments of their young lives. Their desperation to escape, but not wanting to abandon each other to the disgusting, perverted monster in the woods.

It's plain to me that BG has on some type of hat/cap, and a hoodie under his blue jacket. If he took that blue jacket off and the hat, I can see how the witness descriptions could be different. His hair might have been poofy or as I call it 'hat hair' and witness could have seen him in a tan vs blue jacket walking back to his car.

Anyone know what those jackets are lined with? If he got blood on his jacket, he may have inside-outed it, wearing the clean side out.

R. Baston, who is serving a 40 year sentence for child molestation himself, refused to testify for his buddy RA, citing mistreatment by the warden, guards, mental health professionals, nurses and just about everyone in the prison:

<snipped>

According to a transport order, that was also unsealed on Thursday, deputies who were expected to take Baston to testify in the case were informed that he was refusing to exit his cell and was refusing to be transported to Carroll County to testify. Officials were advised by the court to “disregard any further efforts to retrieve” Baston from the
Westville facility to testify.

Good thought Megs, could be reversible, I'm not much of a Carhart expert LOL.

Many aspects of this case are horrifyingly haunting to say the least. One soul stirring aspect is the girls' commitment to each other to the very end. To me, they define true friendship. One of them or both could have tried to run away and perhaps one would have survived but they stayed together. They fought together. The video recording was so brave. They are forever heros in my heart. This case is just so freaking sad. I hate that this happened and I continue to look forward to justice even though nothing can erase the pain.

This comes as no surprise. Child molesters are the lowest of criminals and nearly always dishonest. Unlike other killers, they sometimes hang out in groups, in person or online, to discuss their sick, twisted obsessions. They also tend to believe that CSA is not a crime, that there's nothing wrong with what they do. They're somehow able to rationalize or deny their horrific crimes.

Perhaps Baston realized there was no benefit for himself.

Two minutes on the Google machine shows most navy Carhartts have a dark/black lining; however, I did find one with tan.

Bloody, muddy, seems his pants bottoms at a minimum would've been wet.

That’s a good point. We see in the photo and video of BG, a man with a hat on, but that may not be how the witnesses saw him.
The idea of “hat hair” causing poofy hair is kinda brilliant.
I remember when the first sketch came out in July 2017 that LE said that the hat was not necessarily right. That the witnesses had trouble identifying the exact type of hat BG had on.
After RA was arrested this photo below was released showing RA wearing an olive green skull cap, and, at least to me, that cleared everything up. A skull cap can be manipulated into different shapes and I think RA had his shaped that day in a way that was confusing to the witnesses. They were trying to identify a known hat style, but it was a freelanced skull cap shape.
In individual frames of the BG video it is apparent that RA’s head covering is olive green and in some of the clearer frames it hugs tight to his head like a
skull cap.

I must admit, since the time of the arrest until now, that brown hat is all I can see in the BG video. I'm convinced of it, although I don't put much weight on my own interpretation.

Recall, there's a witness who saw a man in muddy, bloody clothes

This picture looks just like BG to me, one of the most shown of RA. I got goosebumps looking at it.

RA probably was not a victim of poofy "hat hair" IMO

Footnote 155 from the memo:
"Find attached a transcript of a statement of Richard Allen’s wife, Kathy marked as Exhibit 111. When Kathy was
asked what length Richard’s hair would have been in 2017, she Kathie said Richard has “always” had short hair. In
fact, when ask for further description of how her husband has always worn his hair, Kathy said “He (Richard)
shaved it.” explaining that he had always shaved since being in the National Guard."

Good point, all the pics I've seen of him (FB, MSM, etc.) he has had shorter hair. Sometimes more than others, there's a specific pic of RA from the Thanksgiving before the murders in Feb. (it was on FB) it was the longest I remember seeing it.

After the killings he basically went to a close cropped, shaved head and grew out his beard overly long, I believe in an effort to disguise his appearance to BG.

Do you know when he entered the National Guard?

We wld have seen upgraded charges by now. jmo

All they seem to have is that bullet and a grainy video. They haven't released the full video. If it is him on the bridge, and if there is a time lag/delay between the girls just being silly and filming him as they enter the trail and as he is exiting, the state has a problem imo. Imagine walking past someone on a trail. 13 yo girls are being their silly selves and decide to film a guy they are approaching -- but then they pass him and the guy keeps walking. If there is a 2 minute time delay between BG in the frame and the voice over/audio, it is very plausible if BG kept walking that he was far away from them at that point, and that voice belongs to someone else.

jmo

I'm not understanding this. Is there something new or am I just confused?

Were there girls that have film of him as he exited? Who would have taken video of him "as they enter the trail and as he is exiting"?
