So I'm wondering if they did some sort of pre-testing the clothing for blood.
If they didn't find any, they likely would not have sent them on to be tested by the lab?

His muddy and bloody coat should have had some kind of remaining stains on it if he did the murders. Shouldn't it?
He obviously had no tan coat or they would have taken it, too. No tan sweatshirt, either.
There should have been something worthy of exam in his brown cap but nothing is noted on the return.

For me, this all backs up the D claim that there was nothing linking him to the crime scene, according to LE.
Do we have any science about years old bloody clothing?
I've wondered, and *assumed no* but did they luminol his home / shed / car to look for blood evidence? I doubt they'd find any in the house but they might have in the car if they went looking for it?

Which side (or was it both)? Failed to interview the ME?!
The defense team had not met with the medical examiner prior to filing the franks memorandum.

Ty for clarifying. I wonder if that was by design so they wouldn't look bad for not including that person's views in their filing or what other reason they may have had for not having done so prior to their filing?

We do know that BG was wearing a blue jacket. I doubt RA took selfies at the trail to prove what he was wearing. Also doubt he would be quick to call his jacket blue during his Oct 2022 interview with LE prior to his arrest, since by then he (and the world) knew about Libby’s cell phone pic of BG.

Either RA is BG, or he’s not.
That is what matters, and it is up to Nick McL to prove.

I think the interview was in the presence of his wife KA and he did admit what he was wearing because she could have quickly corrected him if he had lied. Some of the facts gleaned that interview seem to have come with her chiming in.
I suspect her being present during this interview was a clever tactic by LE.

Just wondering - the screenshot - was it taken from a document that shows what they took in the execution of the SW? If so, nothing would have been tested anywhere yet for evidence if it was just a running list of what they seized. Do we know the date on it? Are any other items checked off as lab tested?
Here's the link, look at page 115.
The SW was executed on Oct. 13, 2022 and the return was filed on May 1, 2023.
Two items connected to the gun were checked off; as was one carpeted piece under the spare tire.
All the rest of the items are un-checked.

Yes I believe it was by design. Defense can claim ignorance of the evidence that does not support their claims as it stands.
If they had met with the ME prior, and his statements to them did not support their claims then they would have been making false statements in the Franks Memorandum. Which is frowned upon ( IMO should be punishable).

The problem is he got arrested years after the fact so not many people keep a jacket for 5 years or longer as we don’t even know how old the jacket he had was originally.

So it’s about joining all the dots together as a whole. Of course they want DNA evidence but sometimes that’s not always possible so you have to go with circumstantial evidence.

Yes, I see new DNA testing done on many years old clothing that finds DNA in unsolved cases, some as old as 20-30 years old, if the evidence was preserved carefully that yields a DNA profile and then an arrest.

I typed some stuff to say and then changed my mind. Personally speaking and this is purely just my opinion something smells in Delphi. I really hope TL puts his money where his mouth is and shows us why they think RA murdered these girls. Really at the end of the day all we want is Justice for Libby and Abby

Did they footnote that in tiny small font? LOL

Yes, it did say in the PCA that KA said that RA did own that type of clothing and that type of fire arm (the SS). I bet RA was sweating bullets, what was his alibi to family and friends as to what he was doing on that day I wonder??

I not only want to hear his alibi for that particular timeframe, I want to hear what his mood and demeanor was like. What was his reaction (if any) to the news that LG had a video and when he saw himself (if it was him) strolling across the bridge towards the kids? How'd he react to hearing his own voice (if it is his voice), saying "down the hill" to the kids? What were his thoughts on the girls murder? Surely this was a topic of conversation in his household at least with his wife and daughter? Especially since he'd been at the trails that day and all!

On Page 5 of 8 of the original PCA:

His exact words from the PCA "RA said he was wearing blue jeans and a blue or black Carhartt Jacket with a hood. He advised he may have been wearing some type of head covering as well".
This is so baffling to me. It doesn't sound like a guilty man. He practically redraws himself as OBG.

There are a couple of things to to remember:

He was not yet aware that his image was captured by Libby when he went to the Conservation officer.

He also knew that he was seen by the group of girls that day and that they could likely describe him.

It sounds as though he wanted to get ahead of anyone else's narrative.
