Trying to backtrack a bit...

I know the girls wanted to go to the trail, possibly jumping up and down once a ride was found for them to get there, and a ride to get home, since Becky had to work.

Has there been ever any mention of all the things to do on a day out of school on why that was the location the girls wanted to go?

Regarding GH's videos - as I remember he actually had BP helping him on some of those. Didn't she do the drive to the drop off point video for him at the very least? I am not certain his videos are included in the general nod to Internet sleuths having it all wrong based on that. JMO, no link, just my old memory

Yes I recall that as well. I wouldn’t consider the vast majority of GH’s videos “re-enactments”. Several were comparative analysis of the Abby and BG photos in relation to the slats on the bridge and others clarified the surroundings, including the drive to the bridge, as you’ve mentioned.

Re-enactments would likely refer to how the murders occurred and I agree, at this point in time it’s both presumptuous and misleading for any makers of videos who are illustrating any such conclusions.

IIRC, they wanted to take photos there. Jmo

Just a reminder, Kelsi German (Libby’s older sis) dropped the girls off and Libby’s dad was to pick them up, but he couldn’t find them. I am always hesitant to post without a link, but I think that aspect has been covered fairly well.
Libbys Dad or her Grandpa MP?

ETA: I have been corrected that it was in fact Libbys dad. see below

Abby stayed over at Libby’s house the previous night and apparently, much how teenage sleepovers go, not much sleep happened. Later they asked to go to the bridge to take photos as it was a warm February day. Both girls were into photography and it also appears the trails/bridge were also a place where local kids hung out. They were dropped off after 1pm and were to be picked up around 3pm.

Libby’s dad. On Dr Phil, BP mentioned he had driven out of town..something to do with business involving her appraisal company...and had agreed to pick up the girls on his way back into Delphi. I believe he lives in Delphi as well.

Grandpa MP was working that day. When it was discovered the girls were missing, he was called and left his employment to assist in the search along with other family members, according to comments re Dr Phil show.

I'm getting so confused with initials since they seem inconsistent/possible typos.

Libby’s dad is DG. Libby’s Grandpa is MP. Libby’s grandma is BP.

And actually, MP is her step-grandpa.

Thanks :)

Question....does anyone think the girls would have been recording someone they actually know in real life if they thought they were in danger? Or would they only have been recording a stranger?

I think definitely the perp was a stranger to both girls or the identity of “the man” would’ve been disclosed. That’s not to rule out the possibility he might’ve known one or both their identities, or just pretended to.

“Police say the girls mostly talk about "stuff girls talk about" in the recording, but they also mention the man...”

I absolutely do not rule out they recorded someone they knew. I see that as more of a possibility than recording someone they didn't know. But that's just my thought and I don't have all the facts.

I agree with you entirely. I don’t see how he could have been in their lives at all without someone close to them knowing who he is. If anybody did know there is no doubt they would shop him to law enforcement.

I’m unable to imbed this top HLN video but about at 1:10 Sgt Holeman discusses why more of Libby’s video/audio is not being released, to protect the integrity of the investigation but also out of respect for the families, not publicizing the last moments of these girls lives. He also doesn’t think the killer knew Libby’s phone was recording.
