Well now, that's quite an interesting point you make abo1.
Let's just run with the complete speculation that he (might) have used that building for some purpose during his nefarious acts. If LE didn't find forced entry, how would he have gotten in there? That in itself is a critical element. Even if there wasn't obvious forced entry, meaning he left the abandoned building tidy-like, I would examine it with a tooth and comb.

Anyone know if they have vidcam on that building?

Amateur opinion and speculation

Maybe he had access to it ???? As we think he is an upstanding member hiding in plain sight? MOO

ETA and apparently his vehicle did not seem to draw attention for 2 years.

It is difficult and sometimes nearly impossible to accept that someone close to you can be capable of horrific deeds. Sometimes people know, but at the same time believe they have to be crazy for even thinking it. Something similar could be happening with someone close to the perp in this case.

Totally agree. Thus, the silence of family members who, even if they don't "know" any specifics, have a strong "inkling" that something's just.not.right. MOO.

* Italics added to the quote are my own.
Excellent, excellent point. The females in his family have most likely experienced some abuse to one degree or another, or know "there's something about him that gives me the willies".

I can see the outline of the handgun under the jacket on his right side, it looks more like it could be in a shoulder holster instead of pocket as it’s positioned with the barrel pointing back and in an slight upward angle. So it appears in order to draw the weapon he would reach across with his opposite hand, so is he left handed?
I can’t see anything on the left side.

MOO he was concealing it. I think that the girls didn't see the gun either until he pulled it out when he was very close.

Yeah, I’ve never heard of that before.

To kidnap two girls, remove them from the location, kill them, and carry their bodies back to the abduction site?!

Returning them alive, would be just as hard.

I don’t think so.

Also, there was an ongoing search at the time.

No way Jose.

I know I put this unlikely possibility forward as an alternative explanation. I agree with you, it’s highly improbable.

Then again Bundy said he killed his first because he didn’t know what to do with her after he’d assaulted and raped her.

If RTV6 earned money from the number of times I've watched their 35 min aerial footage... Well, they would have a LOT of money.

Maybe it's been discussed (what haven't we discussed?!) but I've been wondering about two things from that video...

1) At 2 min 52, the two men (one wearing a red jacket) on the small bridge... Was there something there that was of interest to LE?

2) And, at 3 min 45... I'm assuming the small fenced-in area (across road from abandoned bldg) is some sort of public utility thing (natural gas/water line). Anyone know if that area is periodically monitored by utility company or county workers?

I think "psychic" stuff is not allowed on WS which is maybe why your post was removed?

You are, however, allowed to talk about your "hinky meter". :)
Ah yes, the ol' hinky meter! Some call it spidey sense.
I boil it down to some people having exceptional deductive reasoning skills, and the ability to take volumes of disparate pieces of information, and make that data relational. Data science if you will. That in itself is a gift. And gifts are like noses; we all got em, just different.

When Libby sent the Snapchat photo of Abby anyone receiving it would’ve known the two were together. But early on there was certainly a lot of discussion here about the possibility of an online stalking scenario although LE haven’t mentioned any connection to technology other than at the beginning. But sometimes what they don’t talk about is where the investigation has taken them.

Yes! MOO -- it's my amateur opinion that the individual who committed these heinous acts is very "tech-savvy". Nevertheless, his being from a "highly esteemed" family has caused some to never even consider him as a suspect. Not.even.once. Oops. MOO.

I am back to wondering if BG was already on the other side of the bridge and the girls happened upon him. He was doing something illegal maybe drugs. He made it appear he was just going to walk back across the bridge and then turned around and attacked. He is a bad guy and carries weapons as a rule. Maybe he just killed them because he could at that time. The things I see people post on Facebook these days makes me glad I can’t see what is hidden. Drug fueled sick fantasies Two trapped little girls he went nuts. Whatever happened if it was sexual only took a moment. I’m sure this thing was over very quickly.

I am keeping Captain Dave Bursten's comment from the first PC 2 years ago (that was 8 days into the investigation) in mind in regards to if this was a chance encounter, or if the murderer knew the girls would be there in advance. Perhaps it was solely his own opinion or his gut feeling, but he said "I don't think it's likely.."

All IMO

There is an enormous Andersons plant there and a big train freight yard where they appear to load up the grain into train carriages - is it part of that?

eta re the two men, I thought they looked like reporters as they seemed to be carrying cameras, I noticed it also looked like they stepped over some tape on that bridge. MOO

I have no words. To think there those like that walking among us is beyond frightening
What's scariest is even with his blatant lack of acceptance for his crime (blaming others even if he down plays it) You almost empathize with him on some levels, which I am sure was
I’d forgotten how scary he is :shivers: IIRC his mother was very cruel and abusive.
The mother thing is very common in the anger killers, people like Dahmer and Bundy are idealist killers, they fetishize the act. Just based on the crime of opportunity theory and the demeanor from the video, this guy seems like he is more of an angry and confused person who had parental issues rather than someone with a esoteric psychological fascination. Some of these types act like Tommy Sells or Charles Manson can eat up the attention, but often times they are less flamboyant.

I don't think the fenced area is part of the plant exactly. I think I will try getting a looking closer at it via Google maps or maybe a GH video.

I also noticed the camera carried by one of the men but (for some reason? Not sure why) I decided they were part of LE... Plain clothes detectives or the like. I could be totally wrong.

I agree with the "tech-savvy" part. I would not be surprised, if he turned out to be an online gamer with high tech equipment. Occupational wise I can see him jobbing around, making his barely living minimum while dreaming of a career possibly in the online gaming genre, but something more in the background, perhaps literally like in "background music" or so for online games.

This individual has to be able to live out his monstrosity. He may be spending lots of time in front of the screen and possibly works only half days. He would either live alone in a very small place with a tiny kitchen and one room only plastered with outside surveillance cams (..), or he lives with family (a brother, sister etc.), but still has a separate lining quarter, basement, outbuilding perhaps, so he can live out his fantasies. And I can see him being very creative and pretty good at whatever he is doing (online).

And right now he is just ..lost.

ALL IMO, not suggesting anyone in particular, just getting an allover feeling for our guy.

I force myself to openly consider every theory at least for a minute. I try to see what known information could lead to that perspective, so even if I can't buy into the theory itself, I can maybe see a piece of evidence from a new angle.

In this case, no matter how I look at BG, I can't see anything but "average."

@TL4S -- I respectfully disagree with you that he's "average"; to the contrary: I believe -- again, MOO -- that the individual who took the lives of these young girls is very "book-smart" (think: NHS when in h.s.; high GPA when in college). "Average-looking"? Perhaps. And thus, many who knew him well while he was growing up in Delphi assume that "he couldn't possibly do anything like...that... Not him!"

It's MOO that we/I sometimes have POIs too "boxed-in" to fit/match a certain set of, um, "possibilites". It's my fear that, over in Delphi, there just may be many dear, sweet Delphi residents who just.can't.imagine a certain young man as the killer of Abby & Libby. They've never even let their imaginations "go there", as they've tried to consider possible suspects who have lived in and grown up in the town of Delphi.

That is a problem. MOO.

Time to do "out-of-the-box" thinking.

Maybe...maybe Delphi residents (who are as eager to see justice done as those of us who post here at WS) need to start considering "the last possible young man capable of doing such a thing" as the first possible POI. MOO.

When I first began "lurking" on WS (actually the night that Abby & Libby went missing, and I had been searching on-line to find some website where people discussed missing persons, etc.), I was amazed to see all of the "MOO-ing" going on (this, from someone who grew up in the Midwest, and frequently "moo-ed" at cows as a kid with my brothers & sisters:-)). Now I know how handy "moo-ing" is, WS-style!

Yes and in over two years, so many people have already been convicted by the Cyber Jury that I’m certain it would require one entire prison just to house them all!

I bet LE wish solving this crime was as simple as googling a few online news stories and then shoving the puzzle pieces together so it all more or less fits.

With respect, isn’t that exactly what we are all doing here? Reading MSM news stories and trying to tie the puzzle pieces together? And we may throw in a few theories, backed up with fact as best we can. That’s really all we CAN do, while staying within TOS. Keeping the conversation going, getting word out, not giving up until there is justice for Abby and Libby.

I strongly agree he had a handgun holstered under his jacket in a position to draw from his left. IMO he is left handed (or at least left eye dominant). Lefties only make up about 10% of the population. Hopefully the teachers in Delphi have been observant over the years as to which of their students match this criteria.

I think she’s talking about social media, where countless people have already been accused and harassed.

It’s one thing to discuss the case, and talk about our theories (as we do here).

It’s another thing entirely to post side by side comparisons of private citizens, and allude to their involvement.

Recently, people have been focusing on members of local churches, likely due to that “Shack” reference.

That’s not to say the suspect couldn’t be a person like that, but the reasoning behind the theory is questionable at best.

Off hand, does anyone know how far it is from welfare bldg. parking lot to the cemetery? In feet?
I'm wondering if cemetery is close enough to have been used as
alibi for why car was parked there?

Here are 3 app. measurements in linear feet for you via Google Earth:
