Not Abby. She had never crossed it before. In fact, I think she was forbidden to do so, but I'm not sure.

Upthread, someone posted a link to an interview in which Abby's mom was quoted as saying she had told Abby she (Abby) was not allowed to set foot on the bridge because of its deteriorated condition.

I’ve looked everywhere I can think of and I can not find where LE stated the SC pic of AW was at 2:07. I see lots of media and even a FB post made by a family friend stating 2:07 (the media actually posted a screen shot of the post to their article with a timeline), but no LE. I’m not implying that the friend was up to no good at all. Definitely not that! The person seems sincere.

Did the friend check SC at 9:07 and saw the post was 7 hours earlier, did the math and thought it was posted at 2:07? Is that where it came from? If so, the actual post time could’ve been between 1:08 and 2:07 (I know they were dropped off at 1:30ish and it took time to walk to the bridge - I’m just saying technically it could be between those times). The friend’s post was very early in the investigation and I doubt LE had received a response from SC at this time to know for sure.

For the people unfamiliar with SC: You post to your story and it’ll say you posted so many seconds ago till you hit a minute. Then it’ll say you posted so many minutes ago till you hit an hour. Then it’ll say you posted so many hours ago after that. If you post at 1:07 pm and check the post at 2:39 pm it’ll say posted one hour ago even though it was more than an hour. At 3:07 it’ll say you posted 2 hours ago. I’ve yet to see it break down post time to hours and minutes or minutes and seconds.

If anyone can find where LE stated the time officially I’d appreciate it. I’d like to get out of this rabbit hole.

did you mean not guilty by reason of insanity? mentally ill by reason of insanity actually makes some sense, too ;)
Yes, "I meant not guilty by reason of insanity"- when I typed that sentence, I hadn't had my coffee.
I now wonder if he was wearing a wig. A not-too-well-made wig would make a person look strange.

I agree- a wig is very likely. I have always thought there was something strange about his hair in the video. The video hair looks more like 1980s era polyester than it looks and moves like real hair.

and MOO- If this guy was going to surrender peacefully he would have done it long before now. I believe LE, SWAT and multiple agencies will have to flush him from somewhere when his id is known. I hope it doesn't come to that, but it is likely. I use the word "flush" deliberately-KWIM?

Hmmm

Are we sure she never crossed it before? I’ve been wondering about this because this lend itself to the potential theory that the girls were on the bridge trying to get away from him.
But they wouldn't have stopped to snap a picture of Abby then, would they?

Abigail Williams & Liberty German: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know | Heavy.com

I went to the image thread and found this link that shows the SC pic of Abby really clearly. The article states it was about 2 p.m. so I'm not sure where the exact 2.07 p.m. time came from, but as it appears very precise it must have been LE who published that time IMO.

This is the pic I’ve seen. The article give credit for the pic to FB so I am wondering if they are using the same screen shot and going with the info posted. I don’t think we can post the FB info, but I believe it’s in this article from the Indy channel.

DELPHI TIMELINE: The murders of Abby & Libby

I can’t find where LE stated it was posted at 2:07. I also don’t see where they refuted it. I have seen where the media has gotten the drop off time wrong too so who knows. LE has said the YTers have the scenario wrong and if the SC pic time is wrong then that could throw off all of their scenarios.

Good point. I think Abby defied her mother's wishes in crossing the bridge, which is a normal teenager thing to do. I believe Libby had been on the bridge before with an older sibling, so she was probably comfortable in leading Abby across, and documenting Abby's first crossing with the photo. IMO Abby looks cautious in the photo but not panicked as if she is aware/afraid that a strange man is following her.

I was at CrimeCon this year and was at the panel. I also spoke with some of the family members afterwards, let them know that they are loved and there's a whole community out here supporting them.

Yes I just found that indy article in the media thread too. I think that's where the time came from. if that was wrong, then LE would have updated that once they had the actual phone IMO. LE only said the YTers got the reenactments wrong, not the timeline AFAIK.

Have you seen where they have addressed it? I’m not trying to be argumentative at all. I genuinely want to know if they said it in a press release or a press conference. I can’t find it.

Edit: I’m not sure they would give out or correct the time since the photo does not depict BG or really have to do with the actual crime. It was pre-crime. I don’t see where LE put that photo out there in the first place. The media and SM did. I’m going back and watching the PCs. Will let you guys know if I find anything.

First, agree that there is zilch wrong with allowing teen gals to spends a couple hours out in a popular well-trod park they frequented & were familiar with, they have cell phones, pick up time & less than a mile from one of their homes....in a town that is low crime on top of it: simply no reason at all to fear that anything worse than maybe a twisted ankle would happen. The family is suffering enough - there will be no end to their suffering. No need to pile on ridiculous judgments.

OK - having said that: the article @ '5 fast facts' states that the phone was 'shut off' AFTER they were reported missing........so......how can they know it's shut off versus losing battery power...because that's interesting, & very specific to say 'shut off'. Only the perp could have shut the phone off so why would he leave it there versus shutting off & hiding, or immersing in the creek, etc. I find that very interesting..Though LE did say something about it all being @ 'power' - maybe it's a tease/taunt thing on his part: let them have the phone, the pics. Also possible he didn't realize there was anything of him on it (if she has passcode).....but it's risky to not eliminate the phone.

I think the perp is local & hangs @ that park a lot - or did....Abby & Libby apparently did as well....I don't think this is the first time they encountered each other to be honest...Maybe in past something weird happened - but not THAT weird or anything that would cause them to mention it to parents....but when they see him AGAIN being all weird or coming toward them trying to talk to them that's why they made the video. Possible they had no clue he'd be violent - maybe in past he was just odd: but this time they thought: let's get a pic/video of him to show parents/family etc. They let him get too close not expecting violence...

In this video at the 1:30 mark the reporter says the 2:07 Snapchat was the last time the girls were heard from. I don’t if LE has mentioned the time of the Snapchat at all.

No I havent seen LE address it and I agree with you . I haven't seen LE confirm it, and I have n't seen it denied by them either. I do think it was given straight to MSM by searchers around 9 p.m. that evening to get her pic out there and it was immediately dubbed the Snapchat murders once the girls were found. MSM and LE both used that as the "last seen" time, and that was important. There was also the earlier pic of the empty bridge pointing the other way too. What time was that one taken DWK?

Welcome to Websleuths Tower28. Thank you for showing kindness to the girl’s family members and for joining the thread.

Thanks gregjrichards! I've been a member for a couple of years BUT I'm not really active. When I first signed up I was a bit intimidated, and trying to sit back and learn from y'all. When I logged in a few weeks ago to see if anyone was going to CrimeCon, I saw this thread on the home page, happened to click on it and immediately connected to these girls. They were just doing what they should be doing, enjoying a beautiful day off and having fun. It took a while to catch up and read through most of the old threads!
I have some gut instincts- but want to discern the facts from hunches and rumors before hypothesizing
Thanks for the warm welcome and lets find this guy!
