I’ve always thought the mention of The Shack was very intentional, but I can’t figure out why.
I've been doing a lot of thinking about this very thing. I came up with many different theories as I was re reading parts of the book. My final theory on it is that the book the shack was discussed directly with their main suspect in some sort of situation. So LE maybe had just figured out which POI was likely BG. I think the shack was mentioned as a direct message to the killer that they know who he is and they're just biding time for the "smoking gun". I think maybe they're thinking it would possibly weaken the confidence of the killer enough to use what small piece of good they had left in them to just turn themselves in.

MOO the police finally have movement on this case.
They are out re-interviewing again.
I read, from a great post how going back into cases was often fruitful because loyalties shift, people change, threats fade and consciences grow over time

Yes, it all makes sense if Carter is right about the POI. But considering how many people were POIs in the Golden State Killer Case, he may be wrong, too.

ETA: Carter is always “emotional”, I stopped paying attention to it, some people are just like it.

That is correct. I hope you take time to check that thread out. It isn't very long.
Indeed I did, then I did a Google, and then I went to Reddit. Was shocked that I had not come across it there before. Call me crazy but either there is for certain a connection and Carter knows it, or Carter is hoping there's a connection and he's trying to flush the perp out. Make him paranoid and do something stupid. His mentioning The Shack at the presser, and knowing that Nicole was left in a hunter's shack. I felt the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Might mean nothing, might mean everything.

Excellent post indeed! So very true!

I am 88% sure that I know why THE SHACK was referenced in the PC. But I don't think I can post why on here. Let's just say it was related to someone's sermon shortly after the murders.

I have thought maybe BG even gave a copy of The Shack to one of the family members, perhaps touting it as a source of some comfort of healing for them, and LE now knows him to BE BG which is why they brought it up so specifically at the PC.

Where could we find this particular sermon? I know there are a lot of sermons online. Could you be more specific please? I would like to listen to it.

I hope it's ok if I just think out loud here for a minute. Going back to what I said in my first post when I referenced Occams Razor, meaning the simplest explanation is most likely the correct one. I have had certain experiences in my own life that convince me that even those who are the closest to you, or to your family, extended family and friends, even they can go against you if they have evil in their hearts. I'm reminded of the two girls in Oklahoma, Ashley Freeman and Lauria Bible. For years they've searched for these girls, and only recently did evidence surface that it was someone who knew the father of one of the girls who was involved in their kidnapping and murder. Maybe two or three men who knew the father, and the original motive was a drug deal gone bad. I am in no way asserting that either of the girls' families were into drugs, but I am suggesting that the connection between the girls and the killer is through the family/families.

I realize that I am probably light years behind you all here. Thanks for letting me catch up.

I think he mentioned The Shack because he literally did just watch the movie and it resonated with this case for him regarding the afterlife and how Abby and Libby are no longer in the state they were left here on Earth.

I really don’t think LE would talk about The Shack to taunt the perp in public. I don’t think they know exactly who the perp is and are giving little messages to him through a PC. If they know the perp, take him in for questioning! Grill him, connect evidence, do something. But hold a PC and tease him with hidden knowledge between him and LE? I don’t think so. Moo

The perp on camera is not unusual, but the perp caught on the murder victim's camera is very unusual. Initially LE did not state how the pic was captured and many thought it was a trail camera until it was revealed it was Libby herself who captured it. This was the twist that Leazenby mentioned IMO.
This unintentionally took me right back to the Shower/Bathroom in Mesa, Arizona. Thankfully not visited often now in my head.

Interesting. Thanks for sharing.

I agree with you, about Carters message. His demeanor and words was not those of posse leader after bad man "out there" but of being tricked and seething about it.

Agree entirely, Carter was betrayed .... MOO, and all that.

I’ve thought forever it could be someone in a leadership position, be it religious, education, governmental. Carter seemed like a shattered spirit at the April 22, 2019 PC. The first PCs on this case were weighty in an entirely different way, the weight of shock, horror, and grief. Affected, but not so personal as this last PC.

Wasn’t the film released shortly after the murders? It was probably used in many sermons around that time.
I’m thinking that Carter’s comments weren’t directed at any know poi but at a general profiled a likely killer.
But just my thoughts

RBBM

Per Wikipedia below, it was released on March 3, 2017.

The Shack opened on March 3, 2017, alongside Before I Fall and Logan, and was projected to gross around $10 million from 2,888 theaters in its opening weekend

So, one wonders if the perp saw this movie (The Shack) and was convinced he'd be forgiven no matter what he did. And, that included murder.

However, forgiveness requires repentance and making oneself subject to the "law of the land." If he's a true believer he should turn himself in and suffer the consequences of his actions. His eternal salvation is an entirely different matter. JMO

Thank you for posting this. Let’s all hope LE make the breakthrough they badly need.

I agree! He should turn himself in.

He may have family or friends who are enablers, and they are protecting him. Or, they just don't know that he committed the crime.

(sigh)

This case!

Yes. With out accepting the consequences of killing, all prayers by the killer are just more trying to get away with it, including feeling forgiven for it.

Did I ask about identical twins? Are their DNA identical too?

Thanks for your response. Very interesting.

Yes. It basically comes when one zygote - one fertilized egg - initially meant to produce one child - splits in two embryos at a very early stage of the development. So they carry identical chromosomes. They say they now have the way to discriminate between identical twins (there was one paternity case when it was allegedly done), but I need to find the information about that case.
