That sketch 'change' just added a great deal of confusion and was a major setback IMO.
The sketch thing didn't only cause confusion. For example: I had suspected someone since March 2017 (although I'm a foreigner ;) ) and when the OBG sketch came out, I had to turn to other suspects like DN or some other. When the NBG sketch was made public during the PC in April 2019, suddenly the sketch resembled my perp from the beginning, finally. Exactly like a photo, almost.
No, I have reason to not name the suspect (in case, somebody would ask).

Hi @Nadal - I really want to change my handle to Federer now ;) , lol!

First - Trisha and other admins have removed my posts, of course. However - it is my sincere belief that Tricia and Websleuths have done a lot to keep awareness of the Delphi case. If for this reason only, I trust them. Implicitly.

And then - the comparison is not valid, JMO. If I had to go to them before each post, i’d leave this forum long ago. Do you imply that the police, being accountable to the judges and DA, has lost their enthusiasm for the case? This would be very sad.

My biggest issue with this police - I like to think out of the box, but I can not. I like to make my own psychological portraits, but the information is nada. Worse. First, we had the portrait of an older blue-collar dude who looked like a boozer and a smoker, and was almost too good for the perp, you know? Then they were after Nations. In my mind, he was probably as far from Delphi as hurricane Dorian is from my coast now, but maybe the LE knew something, said I to myself.

Fast forward. In two years, the old wheezing, humping, limping dude is replaced by the portrait of pre-pubertal male and we are told to keep our eyes open for anyone resembling him, but he may look very different now, change haircut or sport a goatee, gain weight, you know? He is 18-40 but may look younger, was in the vicinity of Delphi on February 13, 2017, likes to hunt and fish, and still has some conscience. He is local but no one can identify him. He walks like at least one of his legs has a nerve damage, but never mind, it is just the bridge, and he speaks like 50% of Midwestern men do. His eyes are likely not blue and hair, dark auburn, and he may have parked next to now-demolished CPS building. (For all I know, he might have used a bike, a moped, or a car. Some “vehicle” that the public has to identify).
Oh, and go read the Shack because is obviously has some answers.

My current version is one step away from “the aliens did it”, but I think given with the paucity of the information we have, the aliens might go.

Yes! Yes! Yes! A thousand times...YES!

In cases they solve it's almost never a mistake to withhold information though. It's often the thing that leads to conclusive convictions.

LE should withhold some information.
They should not necessarily withhold all information. I believe it was a major mistake releasing nothing in this case early on and the fact that it is still unsolved two and a half years later would tend to, perhaps, validate that. But still just my opinion.

Some information is all they had.
Someone who knew the place zoomed in, killed and zoomed out.
Seem like they studied how not to leave forensic evidence. I'm sure techniques of not leaving forensic evidence is a big topic of conversation in criminal circles.

It's shocking how criminal this "below national averages" apparently low crime area of Delphi is.
The Pizza place is run by a drug seller, meth? So many local people knew that, sales of any type of a public job .

Thinking about release of information early on it would seem that they were on the wrong track or a different track at least. I'm not sure that information would have been very helpful. I believe they do know a lot more now than then and I think we will see some kind of movement soon. I am not surprised that any LE release very little information.

Hello all, anything new in this case? TIA

Hey, great post. I only snipped your post for my own convenience i highly recommend anyone reading click the arrow to read the full post.

I fully agree with the part i quoted, my point was purely that the burden of proof is extremely difficult to meet but it's completely necessary. The thing i'm most passionate about is wrongful convictions and preventing them, i think a major factor in those is heavy public pressure and while i understand peoples frustrations i don't think it helps implying police corruption or incompetence without evidence of either. We don't know what the police do for a reason and i'm aware of this and similar sites disrupting investigations so i feel i should speak out against behaviour tending towards that point when i see it.

IMO, the killer is close to the investigation in some way. It is possible he was involved in steering the case in a bogus direction in the first place. LE is not going to release case info. One reason is that within that info is what caused the change in direction of case. I am thinking all of the case facts are known only to a few LE people. This is good. Most cases I have followed had LE not releasing info to the public.

  • #769
my belief is that, in this case and in Kyron's the actual killer is already dead

  • #770
I feel like LE was taunted from the beginning. "If you're watching"......
Quite a crowd. And, quite a contrast with 4/22/19.

My apologies to the mods. My post was deleted. I did not think clearly due to lack of sleep.
My POI I seen today. I can't even stomach waving to him. I wish I could go in great detail of what I shared on the tip line.
He was oddly taking pictures of his home an his second car. I asked my son if he knew Why? He said his buddy will be leaving after graduation in 2020 for college an the house is much to big for them since they can hardly afford living there the past 2 years. As the family an I were getting in the car We hear " Hey Guys! Put your bikes on the sidewalk to fix them not the grass!" (Speaking to his 11 year old an friend)
I froze. I couldn't take my eyes off him. I watched him walk back up his driveway in the garage. My family was like what was that about?!!
Me: What's the big deal the kids are fixing the bikes on the grass? It's flipping dead anyways! They never take care of their lawn!
He was wearing his favorite baseball hat turned backwards, an the infamous blue windbreaker pullover.
UGH!
Please let the day be soon this monster is caught.

BBM. How would you explain what you posted? You cut off my OP and then twisted it to your liking...not good. Where did I even hint that the LE was corrupt? Not my line of thinking at all. I feel that the case has become very personal for DC and others. I feel sorry for them. And you imply that I say they are corrupt???

I would ask the mods not to remove your post because I want the people to see what I see in it. In French, it would be called provocateur.

(I would not be able to live here believing our LE is corrupt. US law is still very strong).

Now about incompetence. I don’t think so, either. However, I think there may be cases that are way above the average level of crime, and LE experience, and I believe the Delphi case is like it.

To me, the DNA part alone might be complicated. And if we add the lack of cellphone trail as Libby’s cellphone was reset, the lack of witnesses because the bridge is abandoned, the lack of any knowledge because I think BG was preparing the crime in advance, and while he might be in public sight, something tells me he is introverted.

However, I think this crime has the traces of something unusual, and the police initially was thinking within the box. And hence the time was lost.

I have a smartphone but am not electronics savvy at all. I dial, answer, and take pictures. What could have caused Libby to reset her phone and what does that mean? Thanks in advance.

Can I post my theory that is almost out of the aliens world? But because everything else has been discussed, I want people to see some very alternative versions. I doubt anyone could be ever found.

So imagine some mole living in Indiana or in Illinois. Not even in Delphi, somewhere close to industrial areas.

So the person is traveling to Delphi mostly for its forest, its abandoned location and maybe even the game?

I Googled “dead drop”. Old “dead drops” were often made in bodies of rodents, but today, they could be some cellular devices, too.

So this person is either leaving old-type dead drops in a hollow tree, or it is a new type, an antenna or something. And gets the money from the same area. The presence of the drop could be indicated by something like a ribbon tied to the bridge rail.

Now Libby, being smart, active, curious, and also having some hobbies that are against TOS to mention, could have come across something unusual. The drop, or the money. Took it home to look at it.

That made her a witness. Maybe the person offered her money to return it back, or something else. Anyhow, she was eliminated as a dangerous witness.

That could explain how the person knows the area so well without living in Delphi (he is a pro). How he could attack so fast. And also, the DNA that doesn’t match anyone. I think the DNA exists, and I hope the LE ran it through Gedmatch very thoroughly. I think the BG could be from any part of the world, absolutely any, he looks Mediterranean to me. But not local.

That could explain so many things.

What a mess this case has become!

When LE released the frame from the video showing BG, the search was on.

When they released the OBG sketch, it confused most of us because it didn't look like the frame of BG. Then they told us to disregard this and that which they had included on the sketch.

The audio clip released was a good thing. We could hear his voice, not enough of it but something. We had Down the Hill.

Then LE released the NBG sketch to everyone's dismay. It no longer looked like BG or the OBG sketch.

They also released a new portion of the audio clip, maybe saying "Guys", which does not really match the earlier voice.

As much as I hate to say it, we would have been better off if the only releases had been the ones Libby recorded - the video clip of BG walking on the bridge and the audio clip of his voice saying 'Down the Hill' - because all the rest has just confused the public.

Sure it would be good to have new releases or updates in the case but not just to say something that contradicts everything else.

While one can do the factory reset just because the phone is malfunctioning, it turns the phone back to pre-used level. One gets rid of texts, messages, photos, lots of things stored in the phone and the cloud. Not everything, as we recently saw in another case, but enough to get rid of some incriminating information.

“Factory reset is the term used to describe the removal of user data from an electronic device and restore it back to factory settings. It is a software restore and aims at resetting the software found in the device to original manufacturer settings.”

Now, apparently what is deleted depends on the phone. Libby had an iPhone. Full factory reset for an iPhone seems to wipe off more than from Android.

“Usually, when you do a full reset, all your data and apps get deleted. The reset causes the phone to return to its original setting as if it were new. However, iPhone allows you other reset options as well. ... This will only restore your phone's settings without interfering with your personal data.”

It is possible. If he made a mistake and had to create a mess to deal with the mistake, then, yes.

I wouldn’t discount anything as possible in this case!
I do have a couple questions about your scenario. By “mole” are you referring to some kind of foreign agent? You mention money as being exchanged in the “dead drops”. What would the money be for? Just trying to understand the scenario.

Yes. The thing is, I recently read an interview with an ex-spy. Such interviews have limited value because defectors sell old information and very rapidly lose the ability to analyze the events happening in their old countries. However., he mentioned old “dead drops”. I got interested and googled the term.

Dead drop - Wikipedia

PirateBox - Wikipedia

It could be even a USB dead drop.

A “mole” is a dormant foreign agent that can be reactivated, or never so. But in this scenario, yes, some industrial spy exchanging info via a dead drop.

In my case, the dead drop is a combo of old and new types of the spy methods. A hollow tree (old) and a USB (new), or a pirate box (new) in a tree (old).

I just thought what a great place this Monon bridge could be for such a transaction. Someone leaves the drop, someone picks it up. Leaves the money. Could be timed for the hunting/fishing season, too.

They could even use the oldest “dead rodent” because it is a forest. But i think it looked similar to one of Libby’s hobbies.
