Does anyone know if that area is known for transient camps? I’ve stumbled into a few hidden deep in national forests/parks. I recently been finding them in park trails that are more public. The recent one I found had court papers blowing out of the fort that was for a local sex offender that was on the run. I wrote down the name and dob and thankfully he’d been found and arrested. I’m just wonder if maybe that park in Dephi was rumored to have people “living” there???

What if the Delphi murders were not sexually motivated and were the actions of a person that was trying to protect himself from being outed for some illegal behavior like drug use?

Maybe the girls saw this guy using drugs along the trail and they knew who he was but were not close friends with him and he was worried that they would tell his parents that they saw him using drugs when they were out on the trail?

The guy could have been out on Deer Creek to go target shooting and get high and they happened to run into him. He could have been angry and frustrated for other things in his life and took his anger out on the girls.

I tend to believe these were not sexually motivated murders at this point only because they seem not to have any significant DNA to work with. If they did have good DNA, they would have gone the familial DNA route well before now.

Maybe someone can comment if the area along Deer Creek is used for target shooting at times by locals.

Drugs or a sexual hookup that was not supposed to be seen. JMO
But there is a hunting stand in a tree on a private property close to the area, so I guess we could say there are deer hunters/target shooters but not once have I heard of any gun shots being fired from any witness or property neighbors.

I'm having a hard time buying this theory. I think it's quite a leap to go from some unidentified illegal behavior to double homicide. Not to mention the improvisation skills necessary to carry it out. What did he use? His hands? And restrained two girls, with no noise? I just can't see it.

This theory is not hard to follow at all !! It makes sense to me. The girls Knew or saw something they weren't supposed to.

Especially if the SM being used is formatted to disappear after a short time. Early on LE would be looking into getting the companies who run these apps to cooperate and recover data for investigators. Remember the problems with Apple over unlocking the data on a shooter's iphone for recovery by LE.

And they were found alongside each other?

"The next day – Monday – I talked to Abby on the phone in between my shifts. The girls had a school holiday and she asked if she could stay until dinnertime. I told her I’d pick her up around 8pm when I finished work.”

So I wonder why Abby didn't mention going to the bridge?

Has it been stated that a man and woman were under the bridge? I thought it was stated just a couple? But it could be a woman accomplice too of course and could help to explain why the girls went with him if they knew the female of the couple IMO.

Abbey’s Mum has said Abbey would not have been given permission to go on the bridge she has stated she was angry to discover the girls had gone on it when she discovered they were missing. Perhaps this is why she never told her Mum she was going because she knew she would say no.

(I am just stating this as a possibility I’m not being critical of Abbey in any way)

There were some reports of a panhandler near the bridge in the weeks prior to the murders. A homeless person, Daniel Nations, was investigated at one point.

But I have not seen anything to indicate there was a transient camp in the Monon bridge area, nor a large homeless population in Delphi.

There was a homeless camp in Indianapolis where officials told the inhabitants they needed to leave, because they would be closing the camp. They were told this a few days before the murders in Delphi. The camp was also near a rail line. But Indianapolis is about 70 miles away. Quite a walk, it would take several days of hiking all day.

I was looking at the pictures of the bridge and honestly having children the same age range I would feel uncomfortable if my children were to go there because of how unsafe the bridge is, if you were to fall you would be seriously injured or killed. That’s my opinion as a mother, I can see where Abby’s mom was coming from. Maybe Abby didn’t tell mom about it because she knew that she would say absolutely not.

It’s just so strange. I was thinking that it could be a possibility especially with how much LE was pressing that BG is most likely local. A lot of transients will go to the hidden areas they know or are used too. Whole thing is just chilling. :/
