Yeah I know what you mean- his legs look like little sticks. But going by LE’s “stats” on his height and weight, extremely thin wouldn’t add up.

HOWEVER, his legs do appear thin, so it’s possible LE just hasn’t given an accurate height/weight description. One of my POI’s doesn’t fit the specs LE gave, so I’m open to possibility LE doesn’t have it just right.

MOO

I don't have faith in LE's sketch(es) or stats! I wish this could somehow get solved ASAP.

To me, when seeing a stranger, if I notice their eyes, it's because they are out of the norm.....light colored eyes. Those are usually light blue.

I was just wondering...does that statement “His eyes were definitely not blue” still apply, now that LE has said to disregard the old sketch? If I remember right, one of the witnesses who helped put that old sketch together, said that. But if that sketch is definitely not the killer now, do we figure that witness was not looking at the killer, so the “eye” statement is no longer relevant? Or did LE say the “eye” statement still applied. I’m just asking. It all just crossed my mind.

I also think that applied to the old sketch, and now the current wording in regards to eye color is "unknown."

I had wondered the same. I don't think LE commented if anything was still relevant from the first sketch.
I don't know if we're still looking for reddish brown hair either.
All they said was the first sketch is not the killer and gave us a new sketch of a different looking guy. So, I don't know what, if anything, still applies.

Exactly!!! The sketches are so confusing IMO. The questions you’re asking are the same as to mine? Maybe LE needs to make another statement to thoroughly clairify the sketches.

Here is another GH video regarding the accurate time of photos taken by one of the witnesses. This is the short version of a live video where he does phone ins. This is only 12 minutes, the live version is usually much longer so I havent posted that one.

(quote snipped for focus)

DNA?

https://io9.gizmodo.com/police-can-now-use-dna-evidence-to-predict-your-eye-col-5867576

A team of Dutch scientists has now developed a genetic screen, called IrisPlex, that can help police determine with 94% accuracy whether a suspect has blue eyes or brown, just from a sample of their DNA.

They have been doing it for the last 4 years, but 94% is very imprecise for the portraits of the suspect. 6/100 will fly under their radar.

And it would not be “definitely not blue”. It will be only “with higher probability, not blue”.

This sentence tells me your cops don’t have a clue who or where he is.
He might be in this room or he might be on the moon, we wouldn’t have a clue
IMO they’ve bungled the evidence.
A video was made of him by his victim and still, nothing!?
Crikey.

“Directly to the killer, who may be in this room: We believe you’re hiding in plain sight. We’ve likely interviewed you or someone close to you,” said Indiana State Police superintendent Doug Carter, his voice cracking.

Why have police not found man who teens filmed before their murder?

It time to get angry.
Love from Australia.

I am not the police, not even close. I just know that in any profession, we develop intuition that is probably based on own experience. But once in a blue moon, there comes the situation that is so rare, maybe 1/2 line in textbooks, and it defies all experience, it can later get into articles and maybe become the first one published. But with these situations, intuition is silent. I saw it, once, and several specialists were profoundly mistaken, because it was a rarity among all rarities.

What if this is such case for the LE? Well-planned, random, no witnesses, no electronic traces. Little DNA. Contaminated scene. The plan and the retreat have been made well in advance.

And if you look at Carroll County police department FB, their average cases are psychotic meth heads shooting fireworks from their cars, abandoned animals, fights, cooking some crazy brews. They deal with it. They have experience and know the people. And then, something like this comes along. And they are making mistakes, for sure. But maybe it is above everyone’s head?

ETA: why does Britain have cameras everywhere, and we don’t? Money issue? Or just laziness?

(Seriously, get on their page and look at the faces of their usual clientelle... we should have a thread about the drug problem because it is killing everything around.)

Oh I agree!! Sadly, I feel they would have clarified a long time ago if they ever planned to.

It’s one of THE most frustrating things about this case for me- that LE has not clarified a lot of conflicting or vague statements. IMO, it’s one thing to keep certain details “close to the vest”, and quite another to give the public confusing information without further clarification. Sigh.

MOO.

Do you think HLN just does what they want or do they have input from LE or possibly even encouraged by LE to air certain things like that sketch enhancement thing? I'm just wondering if HLN is just picking stuff up to air or if it is legitimately thought to be an accurate likeness so they wanted it out there?

-tried to find the link from HLN the other day but could not, they ran the video in which someone made the new sketch look real

nm, found it:

Is this what the Delphi killer looks like?
For some reason I can’t open this link... takes me to my Facebook homepage but that’s it (and I am logged in). Anyone know what I’m doing wrong or have another link to access?

I just tried it (not logged into FB) and it came right up so i'm not sure? Here is the link again in case they changed something maybe

Is this what the Delphi killer looks like?

This is the link to their page. If you get to the top, below BG video and congratulations on the holiday, there is a photo of a couple of clients. With the story of the arrest. LE are complaining of being understaffed, and I believe them. And apart from Abby and Libby, they have drugged people to deal with, and animals whom they try to rehome.

This is the current FBI most wanted information:

UNKNOWN SUSPECT — FBI

Age: Approximately 18 to 40 years old but may appear younger
Hair: Reddish-brown
Height : 5'6" to 5'10"
Weight : 180 to 200 pounds
Sex: Male
Race: White

Thanks for those tidbits that I hadn't thought of before now. All true, but now I'm more confused than I was before. Like the ISP Superintendent saying he could actually look like something 'between' the 2 sketches.

It has been over 5 months since the last presser....and so many of us are still so confused. :(

If those of us who follow this case very closely are this confused by LE's few and far-between statements since that April presser, then I really wonder how the community who the killer is 'hiding in plain sight' amongst feels?

Very, very frustrated and angry and helpless I would imagine.

Are they looking for someone with the face of the new sketch, the body in the video, or trying to 'blend' both sketches together in their minds because that's what Carter said he may end up looking like?

Watch him walk and listen to his voice....compare him to your POI'(s) and ask yourself if that is the guy?

As of right now, the most reliable info we have about this murdering pig came from a smart & brave 14 year-old hero who is going to end up being one of the best witnesses in her own murder case without ever saying a word.

I really hope that day of justice comes very, very soon....and I do believe it will come.

(O/T, I’m watching an old episode of Forensic Files where they are sending blurry suspect video to the “Secret Service, who has a state of the art lab for video enhancement...”

Secret Service Agent: “I know most people associate us with the protection of the President, but the Secret Service was originally created in 1865 as a Law Enforcement Agency.”

The Secret Service noticed this suspect video was out of focus, so the they returned to the scene and shot a beam of light through the same spot of the suspect , then photographed it with the surveillance camera (which originally captured the suspect image).

SS: “The single point source represents a single point of data on the image file. So, in a focused camera, this point source would be round circle. An out of focus camera would actually be a distorted image of that circle, and it’s that image file that is used and imported into the software to attempt to refocus the image.”

-Note, surely current technology has advanced a lot since this episode of FF. They used NASA, right, iirc (or am I confusing with another case)?

-The forum is running wonky, can barely post. :(

O/T:
Here is another Forensic Files I’m watching now, not the same episode that I just mentioned above. I highly recommend watching this episode if people have time. This episode provides some great lessons about witnesses and sketches, and how as we’ve seen here, many persons can seem as though they HAVE to be the one who committed the crime based on a variety of factors, when really these are uncanny coincidental and unrelated elements.

4 1/2 months until the third anniversary. I think chances are that will be the next time there is an update presser. I hope they clear up all of the confusion surrounding the video image, OBG sketch and YBG sketch....it’s all a big cluster...you know what!

I watched that GH video on narrowing down the time Cheyenne took her bridge photo. I think he did a really good job on that. I wonder if he ever used the same technique to determine the exact time Libby’s BG video was taken as well as both her bridge photo and Abby walking on the bridge photo. ....anyone know if he’s done this?

@tresir2012 actually posted those yesterday, I believe. Just look back on the thread. These did help clarify mind about the times.
