As much as you value your POI, I dont have much stock in it considering you (like everyone not personally involved in the police investigation) are invariably limited in both tools available (legal, general information, and technical) and case specific information.

I know people don't like to hear it, but a sketch isn't even evidence. Its unreliable at best, and inaccurate at worst.

Further, I'd rather not see an update than see another press conference out of desperation like April, 2019.

You have amazingly summed up everything about the current status of this case. At this point, it remains in limbo until one of your above scenarios takes place. If not, it goes unsolved.

At this point, the public at large has given what they can. Memories have lapsed and recollection has faded

This case is going to be solved by one or more of few things:

1) Someone deciding to finally come forward and make a disclosure they hadn't previously made;

2) Law enforcement making a break through based on information they already have;

3) Assailant confessing to law enforcement or a third-party who subsequently reports the statement to law enforcement;

3a) Assailant being caught for another crime, and subsequently confessing to being the man commonly referred to as BG.

Public appeal has done it's job, and it very likely won't do anything else. Another update serves to satisfy the curious, but this case is more than a story that we need an ending to. It's an investigation of a double murder for two young girls, who deserve justice.

I don't care for an update unless they're announcing an arrest.

Even if he tried to use a substance to remove DNA evidence, it would be hard to get it all. Victims often have trace amounts under fingernails, which I imagine would require actual tools to ensure cleansing of all evidence.

If this is someone resourceful enough to bring cleaning supplies in anticipation of forensic masking duties, it would be surprising. I suggest this in part because the offender had to act quickly, and other indicators are inconsistent. Why wasn't he wearing gloves? Even the nylon gloves used by surgeons would have been enough to prevent some touch DNA deposition. This would be consistent with the type of personality that would bring supplies for masking DNA. Clearly we see in the video that the offender's hands are free of gloves.

Also, he forgot the phone. Someone who brings masking chemicals would have taken great pains to secure and destroy any devices.
Myself, I can't tell if he is or isn't wearing clear vinyl gloves at that distance. With respect to not taking the phone, who knows why he left it? Couldn't find it in the heat and rush of the moment? Taking it would not have been an advantage either. Even destroying it is often of no benefit as data is also stored in other places and can be accessed by LE. JMO

I've hiked thousands of miles on trails over the years. The only liquids in any volume that I have seen men transport out in the wilds is beer.
LOL :p:D

"Deputies said Mossburg killed a man in Tennessee and drove to Spartanburg, where his sister bought him a ticket to Orlando."

"Mossburg claimed he killed eight people, but wanted to kill 11, officials said. Deputies are investigating whether that claim is true."

So this guy has travelled 3 states at least and killed 2 people but says he has killed 8. And poured bleach on the 2 bodies he just killed. Hmmm.
I think this guy comes off as a total loser, not just because he possibly killed 8 people, but in his daily life generally. BG strikes me different somehow. He's living amongst his friends and associates, passing as a "normal" guy, going about his normal business in the community, not raising any red flags, EXCEPT, between February and April of this year, SOMETHING came to light about BG and LE are actively investigating an OLD lead with "fresh eyes." Don't know, I didn't see an derogatory comments so I was hoping that there was news about to break.

I was thinking that too. I thought we were all behaving pretty well! Usually they tell us when they are tidying up. I guess it was a drive-by clean up!:)

IF I'd been sipping my coffee at the same moment I read this it would be all over my screen! :p:D:rolleyes:

I agree but this guy just travelling between 3 states and killing 3 people, using bleach, saying he has killed 8 and wanted to make it 11, has struck a chord with me. Anyone know if he has a thread yet?

Maybe he returned on the anniversary and left something to taunt LE?

The police were undoubtedly monitoring the area on the anniversary. They'd have apprehended any such person.

BG has thin legs and appears to be wearing a jacket that is much too large for him...could it be his dad's? Maybe dad is covering for him.
The video that law enforcement released is literally the best they could do. Anything else just distorts the image and gives false clues.
It appears BG's right hand is supporting a large object in the right pocket, I believe it is a gun. Which would mean he is right handed. I also believe he used the gun to control the girls but not to kill as it would be noisy and also traceable which means it is a legally owned gun.
BG is not tall.
I believe that BG is very, very familiar with the area. Hence, 'able to get in and out quickly' statement.
I believe the first sketch is literally from the video and not eyewitnesses. I agree that 2nd sketch was from actual witnesses who saw BG that day on the trails.
I believe he targeted the girls (one or the other) due to them knowing something bad about him. Either drugs, or him sexually abusing a minor either one of them or his own kids.
I believe he acted as someone else on social media and told them to meet him at the bridge. Perfect, isolated spot that he knew well and also knew how to get them secluded right away to kill them.

Perhaps. Anything is possible in this case as we have little to go on, although I doubt it. If he did, it didn't work out well for him because the heat is on!

My impression of late, based on what's been said by LE, is that he's local and the community will find themselves stunned when he is apprehended, IF they are able to put together a solid case that will lead to an arrest that will bring a conviction. That's the thing. No DA is going to trial without the "goods" that will see him through a successful conviction. He's not going to waste his community's money or risk his reputation on anything less than probable success. But, you can bet your bottom dollar BG is on their radar and he's sweating and not likely to be drawing any unnecessary attention to himself. As always, JMO.

Most medical gloves in use these days are made of nitrile (often blue or purple in color) due to the increase in latex allergy caused by high-protein, powdered latex gloves of the early AIDS era when (often inferior) glove manufacturing went through the roof. If one were to go to a store to purchase latex gloves in a small qty, those are often tan in color so could be mistaken for plain skin. The cheap clear gloves used in some food services wouldn't last a minute, too thin and slippery. Looks like BG's skin to me or tan latex.

The only chord that nutter strikes with me is a discordant and minor one. :cool:

Agree they could be tan latex. I use similar for decorating and DIY.

Libby German's grandmother speaks about cancer fight for first time since Delphi murders

DELPHI — The families of the two Delphi teens killed in February of 2017 spend every minute keeping their memories front and center. So when finding the killer is the priority — a cancer diagnosis was kept private.

In December 2018, Becky was diagnosed with endometrial cancer, which often begins in the uterus. The cancer is described as an aggressive form that only 15 percent get. There has been surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation.
