I've thought about this and noticed the video shows his hair combed straight down in such a manner you can see the comb-marks it caused in the thick hair. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he combed his hair differently because his slightly wavy / curly style is very recognizable. I think his hair is such that it can be combed in different ways.
At the moment (! can vary from time to time) I'm thinking, maybe there were brothers, one with curly hair/without facial hair that day and the other one with more straight hair/a beard that day. If the brothers have great similarity, LE would be right at the end: a person is the brutal murderer, who looks like between the two sketches.
I may ask perhaps: did we search for something like a baseball cap with a dark emblem on it? Worn by BG in the video? - My memory fades .....

I had thought about the possibility, that the BG online caused Libby to reset her phone perhaps for certain purposes (planning assault/murder and concealing tracks). It would be an incredible coincidence, if a reset was needed days before this well planned double murder, IMO.
I suppose that's something to think about. The sketch dosen't seem to look like the man in the video at all. I think the first one could have; maybe if they would have deducted the pancake hat.
I'm starting to think that they wanted to meet someone who was in high school. Sometimes cover ups happen to protect young people. But that doesnt explain how old BG is. So there must be two if this theory held weight. I do know that someone close to the case in high school moved shortly after the murders.

It could be a wig. I think BG is a theatrical person and won’t rely on his hair or eye color.

I also believe it's a theatrical person! Someone who isn't hiding behind the camera, but actively participating in the action.

A wig tends to shed. I bet if LE found a ton of the same kind of hair, or synthetic hair, they would have suggested a wig had been worn by this point in the case. MOO

Has anyone checked out Twitter and Dexter the Bounty Hunter? Food for thought.

Personally, I've found his tweets are more sensationalistic than useful. While I understand his creative energy and respect the urgency he puts into his output, posting blurry side-by-sides that could affect lives isn't helping the case achieve justice. Naming individuals (who are clearly incapable of the Delphi murders, had to throw that in) and taunting people is juvenile.

The UCR from 2018 showed an approximately 62% clearance rate for murder and non-negligent homicide.

Clearances

Where do you get your 92% clearance rate?

that is not a static number. That takes into account all newly opened cases. The other criteria is cases at least 1 month old.. which calculates to a higher percentage. I'll try to find a source that's newer. Mine was from a few years ago.

Table 26

Here is the 2017 Midwest region clearance rate 51.6.
So solving this crime is a just an even chance.

Delphi is low crime but not especially so.

Let me get the stats I referenced before people really think it's only 50/50 chance of solving a murder. Definitely much higher

That guy's youtube channel was referenced yesterday, those posts were also cleaned up.

But I get what you're saying. I saw it too.

Has LE ever said that anyone has been positively cleared?

I've read several comments referring to a hat being worn by the man in photo captured on the bridge. I too thought he had a hat on, but upon close inspection I do not believe so. He has what appears to me to be a thick head of hair, partially parted at the back, and a smooth, young looking face.

It also looks like he has a leather waist pouch, but upon closer inspection, I think it may be a tool belt/tool pouch, possibly with something white rolled up and stuck down through a hoop.

I think his right hand is behind him, possibly concealing a weapon.

This guy should turn himself in to the authorities, it would be the right thing for him to do.

With the image being pixelated, I can't see any details.

We spent sooooo much time studying & analyzing the video/stills...I think if you look waaaay back in the threads, you’ll find similar discussions about everrrything from hat/hair to is that a gun in his pocket? Oh yes, we’ve exhausted just about any possibility that might be gleaned from it. But who knows? Maybe fresh eyes can sort it out?
MOO

The greatest question (from all the thousands of video and pic analyses) is on age. Is this an older or younger person. Completely changes the dynamic of the murders, doesn't it?

Yes indeed, I can surely see this site has analyzed this to the tee! Maybe something a newbie throws out there could jog somebody's mind. I hope the veterans on the site don't mind a newbie tossing around some ideas, as re-hashed as they may be :) If nothing else, it keeps the thread moving.

...and most often, this explosive anger is genetic, and runs in the family, so either the father or the mother are angry themselves. But they don’t want to admit it, so the child’s anger is blamed on “being like the grandpa”. In short, the whole family is often totally dysfunctional.

Or the parents could have divorced because of the spouse's erratic behavior and that just added to the child's frustration and anger as he grew up left in the care of the erratic parent.

Absolutely agree!

Or parents are still together in total dysfunction and kid grew up a mother/woman hater and father and son now have one up on evil Mom of the house and she's either too blind or just the "not in my family " type.

ISP: We're 'one tip away' from solving Delphi murders

DELPHI — It's been more than two years since Liberty German and Abigail Williams were killed, but investigators continue to hold onto hope, saying they are just "one tip" away from finding their killer.

“If somebody knows something, they need to tell us," ISP Superintendent Doug Carter said. "I think they’re afraid to — it's why we have not heard yet — I think they’re afraid to.”

Carter discussed various aspects of the case, and shared many of the same sentiments he's carried over the past 27 months, in an interview with ABC News this week. One thing is certain, Carter believes that the girls' killer is watching their moves and he believes that person will slip up.

"I think the killer is following this investigation very closely," Carter said.

In a news briefing on April 22, Indiana State Police released new evidence in their investigation including a sketch of a man they say is now the main suspect in Libby and Abby's murders. The man in the first sketch, which was released in July 2017, is no longer considered a suspect.

"When we decided that, through the information we received, that we were going to release the second sketch I don’t believe the individual knew we were going to do that. So it was really, really important. I think he was probably there and/or watching, simply because he thought we were on the wrong path," Carter said.

At the same press conference, Indiana State Police also released a new short clip of the video recorded on Libby German's cell phone, and a tiny bit of new audio from the suspect. Carter believes it's important for people — possible witnesses — to see all of the evidence, not just pieces of it. He thinks somewhere in that video, audio and sketch someone will be able to piece together the killer's identity.

"The sketch isn’t a photograph. A sketch is a sketch and that’s really important for everybody to understand," Carter said. "I believe that the individual when we catch him, it will be a combination of those two.”

They also say they believe the man is from Delphi, is familiar with Delphi or works in the city.

“I’ve walked across the high bridge myself. It’s 65-70 feet off the river deck. It hasn’t had a train on it since 1929," Carter said. "The ties are starting to rot. It sways back and forth and it’s not something you can just jump on and walk straight across if you’ve never done it before. I decided I was going to take the riverbank going back, I didn’t. That wasn’t the first time he’s been on that high bridge, my opinion, again that’s my opinion. I experienced it and I kept a piece of the high bridge and I’ll carry it with me til we find out who this is."

Since that press conference, Indiana state police have received more than 3,000 new tips.

“This is very personal to me. And maybe it’s because I’m in the sunset of my career, but it’s the epitome of evil," Carter said. "Those two girls, once we tell you all we know about them you might understand a little bit more about why it’s so emotional, but I think of Abby and Libby all the time. I have their names etched in my desk. I think about them all the time, I think about their families and the community and what I saw in that community. It was like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. I’ve received full support from Gov. Holcomb and everybody across the street for us to do whatever we need to do.”

“I’m optimistic in humanity. I’m optimistic that the right thing happens over time and I don’t think this is any different," Carter said. "If you start losing sight of that then you allow this to just be okay and be normal and I don’t want to do that."

Indiana State Police ask anyone who has any information about Libby and Abby's murders or who recognizes the man in the image, video, audio or sketch to reach out.

Remember the following things when submitting a tip:

  • Be specific as possible to a description
  • Name and age if possible
  • A connection to Delphi and that person’s location or address at this time
  • Leaving information on how we can contact you for possible clarification of your tip is helpful but not required
The reward for information leading to the arrest of the Delphi killer is now at just over $250,000.

Let's all hope and pray that the person afraid finds the courage to speak up. Let's pray they realize protecting, harboring a person who murders children taints every good deed or thought they've ever done or had. That person you think you're protecting has taken from others what you yourself cherish. It's time to act.
