LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Detectives investigating the Feb. 13, 2017, killings of Libby German and Abby Williams have taken notice of James Brian Chadwell II.

Tippecanoe County prosecutors accused Chadwell of luring a 9-year-old girl into his house at 714 Park Ave. on April 19. Once inside his house, Chadwell allegedly beat the girl, sexually assaulted her and locked her in the basement until police knocked on his door.

You've got to wonder why BG wore many layers that day. JMOO
Layered clothing is extremely popular amongst mid western farmers, construction workers and industrial workers.

The fall and spring temperatures can vary a lot during the course of a day. Likewise, a worker can move from sun to shade or have work involving differing degrees of exertion.

As a result clothing needs change and it can be easier to “layer up /down” than return home, get clothes from a car, or From a distant locker room.

What DNA, if any does LE have in this case? Do we know?
After 2-3 years of dancing around the subject, Carroll County Sheriff Leazenby stated they have DNA, but when asked if it was the killer's DNA he said they don't know. This was in an interview in the TV special "Down the Hill" in February of this year.

Thank you. I have just watched the HLN special on YouTube, and they stated this also (I'm catching up on details).

I don't know but maybe it doesn't have to be human.

I had thought about that also.

Could the brown thing that looks like a fanny pack but not exactly be something like this?
Foldable Foraging Bag, Waterproof Waxed Canvas Foraging Pouch, Mushroom Bags for Hunting, Belt Pouch for Men Women, Dog Treat Pouch for Training Waist Belt https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08YYHWG5Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_MJ82HZ40R0K66B5AJ07T?psc=1

It could also just be the bottom of a brown hoodie with pockets that he’s got his hands in, pushing up his jacket to ride up near his waist.

“The photo appears to depict a White male wearing blue jeans, a blue coat/jacket, and a hoodie.”

I don't think we are allowed to do a side by side comparison of Caldwell and BG, but there are some striking similarities (e.g., lips). Though the bridge of the nose is very different. I am always fascinated by suspect sketches and that process.

Sister of Delphi double-murder victim: Don't share comparisons of sketch of suspect - WISH-TV | Indianapolis News | Indiana Weather | Indiana Traffic

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WISH) — The sister of one of the victims in the Delphi double murder wants people to stop sharing the suspect sketch next to other photos.

Kelsi German’s comments came Tuesday after new social media posts trying to connect the case to a recent arrest in Lafayette.

German encouraged people to share information with police, and she hoped they also will continue sharing the sketch. But, she said, posting photos, names and making accusations on social media can do more harm than good.

From the same link, I can understand why KG feels this way. Someone might not send in a tip on somebody else if it’s publicly perceived the case is already solved even though charges haven’t yet been laid.

“It’s happened many, many other times, too, and, unfortunately, sometimes when people see that they say, ‘This guy’s been caught,’ ‘It has to be that person,’ and that’s just not the case. It can’t be that way with every single person that has committed a crime,” German said.....”

I was also thinking... if we see an image next to a sketch our mind can lock into how it may fit the person next to it. This pre-conceived answer could cause us to miss seeing Person X because we have already locked into seeing Person Y. So someone who may have never seen the sketch before could be viewing it for the first time with a bias towards someone specific if in a side by side. JMO...

He sure does look a lot like hat guy sketch but a good combination of both.

As for the clothing, there is definitely something going on with that jacket. It looks as though he has something in there perhaps for what he's about to do. He is acting way too nonchalant and/or "cool" the way he seems to be walking. There is no way anyone is crossing a bridge like that with their hands in their pockets, which is probably one reason it got Libby's attention.

I say one reason because the other posts about the "local rules" of bridge crossing is something I never would have considered and it makes absolute sense. The other reason is the post about a possible earlier encounter with this guy when they first arrived. Again, seems to be quite logical for what appears to be an angry man who's easily offended.

He may have been equipped and looking for such an opportunity but it seems so crazy that it would happen.

ADMIN NOTE:

We're waiting to hear back from Tricia to see if we should now open this thread up to discussing Chadwell as a POI in this case. Obviously LE has peaked our interest but still aren't giving us much. We've been there before with DN and that didn't seem to pan out, but possibly it's time to open the flood gates on JBC.

Please refrain from addressing this post and any further discussion about JBC until a decision is reached and we let you know on this thread.

Members have been doing pretty good at keeping the threads separate, all things considered, but please just hold onto your hats until Tricia weighs in.

It would be wonderful to have a semblance of justice and some resolution in this case, for these two beautiful girls, for their families, and all who loved them, and you folks who've never given up on trying to find answers.

Thanks everyone.
