They need to release more info. Release more of the video or audio, clearly what they’ve released so far hasn’t been enough to identify him. Release one of the signatures, someone might realise who it is.

This has been said repeatedly, but for some reason they won’t do it.

I always figured they don’t have much more to release - no more video or pics of BG, no more audio, no additional info or sightings - but they don’t want to publicly acknowledge how little they have …. just IMO speculation cuz I don’t see the point in holding back anything that might help & letting the case go cold

Yeah, that’s crossed my mind, too. There’s no more video/audio but they don’t want BG to know this.

Very true. But they do have something. My guess is they won't say anything more until they absolutely must.

I still feel it's a local person and somebody has to know who that guy is but won't or can't say.

Yeah I recall this too - the evening after the girls disappeared, the general story was ‘they’re teens & probably just took off for adventure, we’ll find them tomorrow.’

I def do not follow every missing-kids story & don’t even know why this one caught my attn …. but I remember those claims sitting uneasily. ‘Uhhhhhhh well okay, sure hope so….’

Meanwhile even despite saying that, LE was using heat-seeking technology to search the area after dark. As always, getting the truth out there was NOT the primary focus of any LE communication with the public. So who really knows what all they thought & did.

Leazenby said in episode 10 ("Four Years") of the podcast Down the Hill that they have no more usable audio of the killer beyond "guys....down the hill." He said there are other things in the video that investigators continue to follow into but it's unclear if this is in addition to what has been released or refers to things viewable within the snippet that the public has also seen (such as attire, etc).

I'd imagine it has something to do with it being a double child killing tbh, I could be wrong.
Here's my own "I could be wrong" but I think possibly the abduction--taking the girls from their location against their will--might also make this 'kidnapping' on a technical level. And the FBI covers those, just like bank robbery, even when it's a local crime. And I know the FBI has often been consulted on big/awful cases; maybe they were just there as consulting LE? Just guessing.

There were reported 20+ FBI agents in Delphi daily. If you look at the stories relating to the search warrants, the FBI was involved in those as well. Tobe has said CCSO is the lead on the case, but obviously they have plenty of outside help which has extended to ISP, FBI, GBI, and others. I think the FBI was involved because of the signatures and a potential serial killer.

The FBI comes in as an investigative partner for missing children cases. They have a rapid response team that offers support to the local investigative agency. It doesn't mean they take over, but they become a resource immediately. I think in one of the first major press conferences agent Massa talked briefly and addressed their support role for the Delphi investigation.

I never understood why they would not show the video of BG for so long. I know they need to be cautious, but it has been over 4 years now.

MOO They don't have more. They have the girls talking, and that's not appropriate to release.

If they have video, they can easily remove the audio. I have wondered if the video shows him rapidly closing in on the girls and they think it would be more distressing than helpful.

If it was useful at all in identifying him I'm sure they would have released by now.

I wonder what happened with the car parked at the old cps building

I would think if they had a close up of the guy they would crop and release it.

This is the kind of thing I keep talking about. There should be updates or more info on these types of evidence/ stories. Maybe I've missed it but it should be told what the outcome is.

IIRC there isn’t more video of BG - the only snip they had was so far-off & low quality that they thought their best bet was splitting it into screenshots & releasing them as the 3-4 pics.

That does seem like the right call IMO. as hard as those pics are to see, there’d be basically nothing to fix one’s eyes on if instead all we had a far-off blurry 2-sec snip of the beast clumping along

we discussed this not too long ago, hope I’m not boring y’all w repetition …. MOO I figure whatever the lead was on the car, they ran it down & are done.

Why do I think that, other than we haven’t heard about it again, is cuz JMO I’m pretty convinced BG left on foot. That seemed to be what LE thought contemporaneous - recall Qs did anyone see a hitchhiker or a bag by the side of the road.

MOO BG had no car & was way too much of a shunned & despicable loser to have had a friend who’d give him a ride or anything

ETA: to -> too
Way to early for this haha

True, the despicable-ness... it's quite possible he could just be one of those wondering creeps who just happened to be there that day, unfortunately for those girls.

Although I'm in the camp that believes he's a more local loser it seems he would have been identified by now if that were the case.
