I sort of take these things from LE with a grain of salt. I think they often have a very vague idea formed about the profile of the killer, take that to a press conference and, presto, those ideas become almost engraved in stone.

I have a feeling that many of these ideas won't be true, especially the one that "the community will be shocked". I've said before that many times in these cases people only know others in a particular context, and are often shocked when confronted with that person's crimes.

I also think that some of these ideas, such as "what will those closest to you think", could be arbitrary bids to get the perp to make a mistake -to psych him out- rather than anything very specific relating to a caring family.

Anyway, just my thoughts. I would be very surprised if JBC isn't "the one".
Except at this press conference Carter spoke..."directly to the killer"...

He seemed 100% convinced the killer was watching. Would he be that sure if it was Chadwell?

I mean, just because he's positive about something doesn't mean he's right.

Do homeless people even have tv's? ;)

Taken from LE statements.
-Someone hiding in plain sight.
-Someone younger.
-Local & well known that the community will be shocked.
-Someone who has spoke with LE and privy to the direction of the case.
-Not in the system so has not committed serious crimes before.
-A coward. Organized killer associated with power.
-Has caring family. ("what will those closest to you think")
-Noticeable changes in behavior or appearance.
-Has a little bit of conscience left.

bbm .... rules out JBC, I believe, if nothing other does also.

Is Kelsi's twitter allowed to be linked? She addressed or rather gave her opinion on JBC.

but what if he did speak to them..what if they never questioned him but they did speak to him..in passing..maybe he was hanging out at that PC..
we really don't know what all JBC was doing..you would think he would avoid cops like the plague, but his sadism makes him want to experience the fallout..all the freaked out people..all the grieving family and friends ...you know there is a reason why they do this ..it seems unfathomable but they do it..it's actually quite common I think....not unheard of..

remember how Jodi Arias called Travis's family and inquired about his case ? remember how she begged the detective to let her see the pictures of travis's dead body?

I think he might of cleaned up and come back and hung out.awhile .. .while everyone was looking for the girls.. he could blend in..Those cops didn't run every searchers name. no way.. I am hoping he had enabled location services on his Facebook.. that would be awesome...mOO

added...kinda like a pyromanic likes to hang out and watch his fires.

I'm not going to be terribly surprised if JBC turns out to be unrelated to this case, but I would be extremely surprised if he hasn't committed other violent assaults and probably murders.

Is her facebook allowed to be linked? She addresses it on FB too.

Is it something new? Her older post about JBC has been linked here several times.

There's also nothing there to tell you he was going to attack a 9-year-old girl. It's just those clues here and there, mostly with the dogs.
Something about his relationship with the dogs... definitely not normal

He may not have been positive. Lots of people did not watch that conference, but later, checked this forum, FB, YouTube videos, maybe some other platforms.

I think two things, that the killer has a regular job and looks like an average Joe, so, maybe he was not even watching at that moment? He finished his day, came home, ate dinner, then maybe flipped through his social media and listened to that PC. People wear headphones, if they are gamers. or ear pods, so it's not like it was a family event, I think. The only way he could have been different might have been some distraction in the few next days (lots of things on his mind). So maybe if his family discussed the PC, he looked detached, as if disinterested. MOO.

Or, it could have been very different - tbh, there were so many talks about DNA before the PC, and then the PC did not indicate that LE had much. Maybe the guy was in a good mood after the PC, because it became obvious that with such sketch and audio, no one would identify him?

If they had social media back then and chose to use it, I wonder what Bundy's FB would have looked like, or Dahmer's, etc? Interesting to ponder. I don't necessarily think the killer has to be a genius. It could be as simple as not having that "one clue", possibly a suspect, to compare the evidence to. Also in terms of DNA, LE said it's not the kind we think. So maybe it's not as easy as seeing what felon pops up on the screen. No, JBC hasn't blatantly posted an admission of any kind, but it seems he could have left a lot of clues, like the one he posted 3hrs before his last attack (and his artwork, the stuff he conjured up from his own twisted brain. Could be a lot to read into there). He even posted a screenshot where he said not to make him choke her, in a sexual context. He doesn't seem all that smart, but he sure does seem violent and impulsive enough. JMO

In a way, we know how TB's FB would have looked like. Ann Rule was his FB - if FB is the indicator how the world sees us..

He was able to show empathy, he volunteered at suicide hotline, he was attractive enough. I see some void where male friends should be, and maybe he'd have more female friends on his FB. He'd be professional, in those years he was a Republican (today I think, either libertarian or a centrist-leaning Democrat). He'd post some articles about suicide prevention, new information about Covid, he'd be ironic and glib on his FB. Some photos from hiking and canoe trips (but nothing close to that mountain in Issaquah where he dumped the skulls). Maybe he'd be member of some help groups where women go. And many photos with Liz and her daughter, the family.

You know what I also think? I see some FBs of successful immigrants - all of them try to emulate what, in their minds, average Americans are posting. This is what we would see on Ted's FB - he had no childhood to speak of, he did not quite fit in, so he'd pretend so hard - smiling faces, measured words, thank you, Liz, for being the best... a huge post when he was accepted into law school, with thanks to his wonderful family and friends, and future plans. (Someone would comment, so many years, Ted and Liz, maybe time to tie the knot?) And then the photo of a Beetle VW "farewell, WA, hello, UT".

Dahmer was different. Way more psychotic, so I doubt we'd see a FB, he was a total loner, or his FB would be something not kept consistently. But who knows?

Cruelty to animals is one of the early signs for people with these tendencies. The less sophisticated, less intelligent and those with impaired social skills Will tend to target vulnerable pray like animals elderly and Young children. When/if they get more confidence they Will go for the more challenging pray like teen or grown ups. But not all Will have the “skills” to move further than animals. Or when they do target their first vulnerable victim, they do not have the intelligence to do it in such a way that they Can get away with it and they get caught before they Can evolve their tendencies to include more victims. I tend to see JBC falling in this category, with the very limited information I have. Have not looked at his facebook but what I have seen described in this Forum, I think he is an attention seeker and that he would not be able to keep quiet if he had committed a double murder that has the attention of the whole country. I saw one video posted of him with his dogs and agree that did not look like a normal relationship a person would have with their dogs, but to me it looked more like the dogs were substitutes to Human contact, which I believe he has very little of due to lack of social skills. Just IMO, I may very well be wrong.

Yes, his dogs were substitutes for human contact, excellent wording. And I am telling my imagination to stop right there.

You clearly have your suspect. You make excellent points on why it may be him. Abby and Libby's family along with LE have asked to keep an open mind because if you are wrong you may miss tipping the real killer.
