here's the thing..JBC got a huge amount of press, his Facebook was plastered with hateful comments ..then while he was in jail he used prejudice to try to swing his trial to another venue..he said everyone thinks he's BG and cannot get a fair trial...

never once did the police come out and say anything...as a matter of fact , instead...they shut down all case discussion...literally shut it down..

This GH video talks about Abby's Mom describing what some of the audio has starting at around 47:00 mark.

Seeing a gun and hearing a gun are two things at around the 51:00 mark.

Someone in previous threads posted a list mentioning the above and...

Annie thinks Libby ran out of storage and did not turn her phone off

There were witnesses that say they saw BG when they were alone, but BG did not bother them.

None of the witnesses that saw BG can draw a picture of him.

There were no gunshot wounds

If Libby's phone continued to record after the murder, could "...guys..." and/or "...down the hill..." actually be the suspect looking for the phone? Either after the murder, or later, during the search?
(LE has stated online sleuths have it all wrong.)

I asked: If Libby's phone continued to record after the murder, could "...guys..." and/or "...down the hill..." actually be the suspect looking for the phone? Either after the murder, or later, during the search?

But in this press conference, LE states they aren't saying the voice belongs to the person on the bridge, and also there may be more than one person. Is there actual evidence to show the person on the bridge spoke these words while approaching the girls?

This should clear up that question for you

In The Carroll County Comet, Leazenby did an interview in February of this year where he stated that the audio was recorded at the south end of the bridge:

Q. Describe the area where you believe “down the hill” was said?

A. South end of the High Bridge.

"Please keep in mind that the person talking is one person and is the person on the bridge with the girls" Carter said. "This is not two people speaking. Please listen to it very, very carefully."

Thank you. Carter states the person talking is the person on the bridge. So possibly LE has more video/audio proving this, even though I don't hear him directly state that the words were spoken on the bridge to the girls.

Cf. @Yemelyan's reply to you above.

Thank you. So it's still possible the suspect was recorded while looking for the phone at the south end of the High Bridge.....? I guess I'm looking for a direct statement from LE of when the words were spoken. MOO

No, it isn't possible. LE has stated numerous times that the audio was recorded by Libby before the crime occurred. I don't have a link at my fingertips, but I will try to find one after I run some errands (if no one else has posted one by then).

I appreciate it. I've found where other websleuthers have linked the following article as proof, but if you read it, the writer surmises when the words were spoken, not LE. I'm looking for a direct quote from LE.

Not from LE, but Anna was interviewed by a YouTuber named Jason Hebert (it was allowed here as a source). He asked her directly about the "guys...down the hill" and she answered that:
1. She has heard this full audio
2. There are only seconds of pause between "guys" and "down the hill"
3. In the intervening seconds of pause, the girls respond "huh?" Or "hmmm"

So unless this is an elaborate scheme by LE to doctor a clip to make a family member hear something that wasn't accurate, this audio represents BG interacting with the girls before criminal activity is about to occur. Not mumbling to himself while looking for the phone.

There would be no point in tricking the families in this way, as the stated object of LE was to let them hear the full audio to get the families' take on whether the person on the bridge could have been known to them.

Edit: it's around minute 14.

I'll come back and edit my post to include the time stamp as I've had to reply about this before and I can find it in a previous post.

Thanks again, everyone. I've read through and listened to tons of LE quotes and press conferences, and still can't find a direct quote from LE stating the suspect audio was in fact recorded before the murders, 'ordering the girls down the hill'. In fact, they seem to keep the video and audio evidence separate. I can only find writers, sleuthers and family who are surmising this, and continue to put this idea out there. LE may have played portions of the audio to family, but I can't find any LE confirmation of the actual chain of events. LE deliberately withholds key information, even to family, imo.
If this is such an integral part of the story, I would think it would be easy to find a LE quote stating this. But I can't. So, I'll keep looking.

LE is deliberately withholding a lot of information, as they have said many times. I don't know what conclusion you could draw from pointing out that LE has not said this specific phrase. The mother of the victim said the sequence of events was explained to her in this way. If you don't believe Abby's mom, that's fine, but other people are free to believe her.

My opinion only, there’s a limit to what is reasonable to question and what’s contrarian, what’s important for the public to know in terms of this crime being solved and what won’t help identify the suspect one iota. So I wonder what difference would it make, what you’re hoping to find? LE already know what’s on the tape and the date/time of the audio/video would certainly be embedded in it. Also they’ve never asked the public to provide tips about the crime flow. As time progresses, unfortunately it seems to me the more they do say gets construed into increased speculation. It’s just never enough.

If you know who the killers are does it make a difference when audio was recorded? No I don’t think so, so just send in who you think committed the crime! That’s all LE have continually asked for.

Yes! And then all of a sudden we hear about KAK and a link to the girls and JBC pleads guilty and gets sentenced.

<modsnip>Why would LE state that specific information? Their purpose for releasing the audio was to help the public identify BG.

A family member has heard the audio unedited, and is a credible source of information who has shared enough to disprove your theory.

Only your own ego and your unwillingness to admit to yourself that your theory was a bad one are preventing you from ac epting reality.
