Haven’t posted here for a while because well.. I had nothing to add. This case still perplex me. I read here all the time to keep track of what is happening.
Anthony_shots profile keeps me more perplexed then ever add to that different sketches ( old, young) and I feel like I can’t even make an opinion anymore of what could have happened. I went down rabbit the hole trying to figure out sketches, video , etc .then decided to take a break for my own sanity . With anniversary approaching I really hope that 2022 is the year the police will solve this case.
I still feel that it was a random ( as opposed to online predator) spur of a moment murder I also think that any of the guys that LE looked into/ is looking now is not our guy . As I said I’m perplexed and my opinion isn’t a strong one.
I keep thinking back to the comment made by LE that not one re-enactment has got the details completely right. I have had my own opinions as well, but they tend to change from time to time. So without those additional details that LE seems to be aware of (or else they couldn't be sure that the re-enactments were wrong), I just can't rule out any of the general theories, such as random vs. stalked or catfished, etc. Things that I thought were less likely have been shown to still be possible.

I wonder if by keeping the cause of the murders a secret and not providing the answer to the question whether one girl was targeted and the other one was a collateral damage, or they both were initially intended victims, LE puts us in a difficult situation. If it was local, I still think, targeted. If not local, probably random. It changes everything. I assume LE should know, but maybe, they were so sure in the beginning that destroyed/paid no attention to own clues.

Maybe, two things.

1) Rules and regulations exist for a reason. And no matter how well one means, if criminalists don’t adhere to them from moment one, they might be rendered powerless, and neither personal kindness, nor the best of intentions, can rectify the messy outcome.
2) this being said, there is such a thing as intuition.

This is a brilliant observation!
I think it’s very true in this case, and the source of why we’re still at this five years out.

I mostly think that it was random because of lack of arrest. As they say random crime is the hardest to solve. I think that if it was online predator or specifically targeted murder there would have been traces of that. I of course have no clue it could have been anything! But that is how I see it.

For reasons I can’t really explain call it gut feeling I truly belive it was as random as it gets. I think if there was a link it would come out by now. Anthony shots profile threw me out a bit but it was known as early as 2017. Its just my opinion I’m glad to be wrong anything for the justice to be served!

I agree. I do not think any of the people LE has looked at or is currently looking at is the suspect. It is very difficult to come up with a profile of what type of person each of us thinks committed this crime because LE has not released anything about cause of death and what happened to Abigail Williams and Liberty German. But from the way LE talked at the beginning, it sounds like the killer in this case is more complex. At one of the press conferences, a quote I remembered was about how the killer left them out in the woods.

We do not know how the girls were killed or how they were left in the woods, but my opinion is that this killer is more determined. The statement about how the killer left them in the woods is a visual statement.

Exactly. We have a very limited information about the murders and it’s really difficult to have any opinion at all. I think that murderer is someone we haven’t heard of yet but hopefully soon we will.

Here is Ron Logan taking us down to the creek on the third anniversary, etc. Then the ridiculous search warrant, disgraceful trumped up charges and sentence, ...
The warrants to search Logan's property would have happened automatically, since the girls were found on his property. "Routine," not "ridiculous," IMO.

And I'm not trying to be argumentative, but have YOU ever gone to the funeral of a child killed by a habitual drunk driver? Look at Logan's history, below. I can promise you that where I live, someone with four prior arrests is *definitely* going to jail:

Delphi property owner gets nearly four years in jail for traffic charges | Fox 59

" [...] Between 2010 and 2014, Logan was arrested for drunk driving four times, resulting in three convictions. Judge Fouts noted previous leniency in sentencing Logan to probation and other alternative terms. [...] Logan’s sentence includes 22 months to serve on his original probation violation plus another two years after his guilty pleas as a habitual traffic violator,

Is there anything the parents of the victims can do to get a new investigation underway? I just know if they were my girls, I’d be on LE like white on rice!
libby's mom is the only one who has been against le and what they have done so far.. the rest have been very friendly and fine with le and it doesnt seem to change

Mine too. Such a puzzling case. I just hope he doesn’t get away with murder.

In the end he won’t.

JMVHO. YMMV. moo-mOO

It’s that time of year again. Creeping up on year 5 of no resolution or justice for Libby and Abby. LE deflects criticism by saying they look forward to explaining all about their amazing investigation once they arrest someone. Right. I doubt that, as far as them looking forward to it.
My question is…what is the most important new thing you learned this year concerning the case? For me, I learned that I can’t believe anything that comes out of LE’s mouths about this case.
In years 1-4, I apparently stupidly, believed everything LE threw out as fact. Those very few bits of information they shared with us, I collected them like precious stones. And I defended those few facts revealed to us by correcting others here and reminding them over and over of the tiny pieces of truth revealed by LE to us.
Sorry about that. My humble apologies.
The revelation that the girls were possibly catfished after being told for 4 and a half years that they weren’t revealed my treasured facts to be Fool’s Gold. I was the fool I guess. I can’t trust anything we’ve heard now. The catfish info wasn’t some new info they just came across, that was obvious.
So, I would love to know what was the most important thing you learned this year?

P.S. JBC is still my #1 draft pick for the Delphi killer. I know some disagree and that’s OK, I’m sticking with him until they arrest somebody else.

What did I learn this year? Nothing. Not one darn thing.

From the JBC and catfish info, I’ve decided LE knows even less than I suspected. I’ve been here since 2/13/17. I’m more discouraged than ever. For the first year, each time they released a photo or the audio clip or the video, I thought “this is it, they’re about to get him.” But not anymore. They don’t have a suspect, either zero or dozens of possible poi’s and no idea if the dna they might have is related to BG. How that’s possible after 5 years I just don’t know. My best hope is that BG is caught somewhere down the road, in 10 or 20 years, due to some new investigative technique.

I’ve said before and I still believe that this case could totally change if a family member gets fed up with the lack of progress and goes to the media with information. The family members have all said they don’t know things, but some of that can’t be true. They’ve heard all the rumors we’ve heard: COD, possible signatures, crime scene details, etc. they know some of these things but they have trusted LE and kept quiet. Eventually, imo, someone will stop being so trusting and start talking.

I agree about the family needing to pressure LE a bit. I have sensed in more recent comments this year that they seem to be getting frustrated.

I agree with you. My gut says BG did not know them and was not communicating with them prior to the crime happening.

Out of curiosity do you think BG is younger or older?

This is something that I go back and forth with, a lot.

Older imo. I’ve always struggled with the April 2019 sketch. I don’t see that face in the video and I definitely don’t hear a young man in the audio clip. I think BG was much older than 40 at the time. I’d put him around 50-60ish. All imo.

I’d love to see those comments if you can direct me where to look.

They have complicated intrafamilial relationships; DC is compassionate, but even his style might not be consoling for everyone.

For me, it was very interesting to listen to Libby's mother. I assume Libby has taken a lot from her mom. Mom is straightforward, and Libby was, too. Both seemingly are/were unafraid to avoid confrontations. I always wonder, what if someone ultra-misogynous crossed paths with Libby, be it that day or earlier? There are guys who get livid when a woman rebukes him, much less a teenager. This could have caused such an outpouring of anger... especially if it was witnessed. (Not victim-blaming at all, just trying to imagine a person, already angry with all women, and here, a kid affronts him).

You know, if GH's guest is credible and we can assume the car was there from that morning to that afternoon, at the very least, then my question would be, why? What are some legitimate reasons that would bring anyone to that spot all day?

Is it a location people park when commuting with other drivers? Was someone fishing? Was the car stalled out?
Well, speaking as an "anyone" we parked there when we went to the trails and bridge.
But-- we were NOT there all day so don't know why a vehicle would be parked there between noon and 5PM --we were not there even that long.

But we were not the only ones parked there either.
