At times I think 'just how many murderers have to murder multiple victims for someone to know, one lone murderer is very capable of murdering multiple victims in mass numbers right by themselves?'

Bundy hid in plain sight for years. No one around him knew, and he was often in the presence of some very smart people on a daily basis.

Long time lurker...Love reading everyone's insights! I found this site with the Missy Beavers case, but have been following this case since my son was the same age as Libby at the time of the horrendous crime...so I've have been hoping for justice since the beginning.

My first thought after the press conference was this - "Hmmm...I think he (Carter) is emotional because they went the entirely wrong direction for two years." I saw his emotion/anger as though he felt like he failed the family(s). My thoughts only - this was my perception - I know they have worked their butts off on this case!
Now, as we all are wondering - why the wrong direction? and what has turned them around? I am hoping they have something good, just cannot figure out what it is.
Hoping for Justice for Abby and Libby (and Missy Beavers!!)

I believe LE has new information that they didn't have earlier. I find it hard to believe people will be fired over information they didn't have. This is of course just my opinion.

I believe there was cover up by the killer's family or at LEAST they were in huge denial. Or I guess that first sketch is so different maybe they truly didn't know. Not LE's fault. Don't think the cover up was within LE. I do not think nobody can cover anything up anymore with the new sketch.

I think he is saying that. But what about other possibilities?

He could be telling the girls "close your eyes. Down the hill"

Tip because of the composite itself or the info in the press release? I think everyone will agree how similar the three composites I posted were. So similar in fact you didn't even believe they were from three different suspects.

Hill said his office and the district attorney's office spent $4,000 to hire a company with a lab in Virginia to use DNA to generate the image - and that $4,000 is the best money his office has ever spent

What is your source? Was he responding to a rumour? For example, early on because initial searches were looking for alive girls (calling out as they walked the trail system, etc) theories also sprang that because they weren’t found the perp must’ve taken the girls somewhere and then somehow delivered their bodies back the next morning.

The time frame between the 2:07 Snapchat photo of Abby on the bridge and the unanswered text or call (can’t remember which it was) by Libby’s dad as he was arriving, intending to pick them up shortly after 3:00 made for quite a short window of time. This was according to BP mentioned on a Dr Phil show.

OK thank you very much. It was mentioned on here earlier that he said it happened quickly.

I have a question for those folks who are familiar with this park. So what is down the hill? Is the hill near the bridge? Is the hill where the bodies were ultimately found? Is the hill an isolated area, was he taking them further off the beaten path...?

Ok.I found on Liberty Germans FBI page he is describes as still having reddish brown hair.Is this correct?His description is- The person depicted in the composite sketch is described as a White male between 5'6" and 5'10", weighing 180 to 220 pounds, with reddishbrown hair. Yes, I know what he said. My question is why some people think that statement made at a highly-watched press conference doesn't mean anything? Would LE just randomly insert meaningless info at such a serious event?

This being such a publicized event, every sentence uttered has been well thought about beforehand,
I guess we may find out down the track, but I think BG knows exactly what is meant by 'The Shack'.
Things I hope will fall into place with more evidence being revealed with time.

In the new photo, besides the hair what ONE or two things stands out as PROMINENT to everyone? What would a witness have made a point to detail about his face? I’m curious to know your thoughts.

At a glance he appears young. After a closer look the drooping brows and the jowls make me think he's older.

In regards to his outfit, this is why I don’t think the guy is local. Someone would have recognised him by now.

While he looks ‘clean’, it’s hard to tell from the photo.

Since they couldn’t match his DNA in the system, he doesn’t have a prior arrest, but that doesn’t mean this is his first time either. He had been watching those girls from probably the second they stepped foot on that trail and he could have been anywhere. With no leaves on the trees, he had vantage points from just anywhere.

JMO his outfit is the official uniform of "men in Indiana that live in rural areas".

I think "The Shack" book and movie have meaning to the killer and possibly "his alibi"( if he has someone covering for him) and LE knows this.....moo

I agree. I keep wondering if there are two Perps - a father and son duo. I know there has been absolutely no indication by LE that this is even a possibility, but I just can't seem to reconcile the video and the new sketch. BG looks much older. I just don't know....baffled.

The Shack is about the shock accompanying the murder of a little girl. Shock is associated with Libby's and Abby's murders. Carter saw the movie and noted the similarities. Nothing more.

Re: sketch #1 now being thrown out of the equation

I think something (tip? further investigation?) has occurred between Monday's PC and today's announcement that caused LE to eliminate sketch #1. I don't see this latest development as LE messing up the info they release. I think they are getting whatever they need from the public, and are closing in on BG. Plain and simple.
