Why authorities hold back information
Todd Lappin, a retired Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department homicide detective, said holding back information is often key to solving the mystery.

"You want to keep a lot to yourself that only the suspect would know," said Lappin, the chief deputy for the Clinton County Sheriff's Office who retired from IMPD in February.

The sketch, Lappin said, likely is the result of looking at the case with fresh eyes. Investigators found something, he said, in all the tips, witness statements and evidence that leads them to favor this image over the other sketch.

Yeah, I'm taking my aging telomeres to bed too. If I'm not here in the morning, it's because I came down with the cold Mr. Carbuff has been spreading around all week.

In all due respect. You did not come off as caring or loving when you used the phrase SLOW/SPED. Maybe consider how your words are going to come across. Everyone is pretty hyped up this evening and throwing gas on a fire is pretty much what that amounted to.
Thank you for that honest and respectful feedback. I am sometimes very desensitized.

New guy looks “slow/special ed” to me. As a veteran educator and school administrator/principal, I can always look at the eyes and see what is or is not registering...

Oh, no.
I can look at your words and see what is not registering.

You can't judge cognitive functioning by looking at someone's eyes. You also can't judge it by looking at their skin color.

Please know that I completely, wholeheartedly agree. I work in an educational mental health setting and it’s unconscionable to me to even suggest such a thing. I was just trying to politely convey that even if a witness COULD do a thorough cognitive assessment by looking in someone’s eyes as he walked past them on a trail and then drawing that “look in his eyes” is even MORE far fetched IMO.

Looking forward to the day we see "ARREST" on the thread heading.

'Night, all.

Or reliable in securing a conviction. Moving on..

Not for securing conviction...for helping in creating/manipulating the sketch. But you are right..moving on..

Is there more than one killer?
In news conferences on the Delphi slayings, law-enforcement authorities have seemed to focus on searching for one, as-yet unknown man.

But (Indiana State Police Sgt. Kim) Riley said that's not necessarily the case.

"There's still a possibility there may be more than one suspect," he said. "We have not narrowed it down to how many people have been involved in this."

Delphi murders: What's still missing 2 years after the slayings of Abby and Libby

Sgt. Riley observed that, but it seems to be from the original publication date of the article, in early February. They have updated a few aspects of this article after this weeks PC.

I have the same theory. There were multiple vantage points of the bridge from all around the park. BG could have spotted them and watched them from afar and decided to take a chance and attack since there was nobody else around.

I wonder if he had an “alibi” for the situation if someone emerged, suddenly.

Imagine that he somehow knows the girls. He says, “guys, ...down the hill”. At this point, they yet follow him totally voluntarily.

What did he say? Anything. “Guys, there is a sick kitten down the hill. I need help” is what comes to my mind. It can be anything else, playing on their curiosity/wish to help. So if someone sees them/stops them at their way off the hill, they will say they are not coerced to go with him.

We all assume they did not know him. I wonder if he was slightly known. For some reason, I still think that he is a local guy who has moved out, but his mom (or both parents) are still in the area, and respected members of the community. He has the reason to come back, and while he is not around all the time, he is occasionally seen around.

Another version is, he is someone very well-known to them and their families, but I am even afraid to go there.

Anyhow, there are some words in that recording, between “guys” and “down the hill”. They have been scratched out. Fill them in with something you see fit.

Did the girls have any interest that could have made them follow him, out of curiosity?

Do all of you know how desperate Bundy was on his last killing? He walked onto a school playground and grabbed an 11 year old girl by the arm and took her away. This killer has to be caught. He saw these girls, he wanted to Kill, so he did. He did it fast. No one is safe until he is caught. This is serious. This was not planned etc.. No one would WANT to seek victims in a place that was scary (like a school playground where there are eyes everywhere) He wanted to be in control EVEN on a bridge that was so UNSAFE... think about it

Do we have any VI from Delphi in here? I am wondering if the new sketch has divided up the town? Made some people more suspicious of others?? I have been reading about AJ's community and people are really, really angry at how AJ slipped through the cracks. ( I am with them on that!) However, they are really rallying around each other and businesses are all honoring AJ. I feel for Delphi. I can only imagine that there hasn't been that sense of camaraderie there for a long time. There are no verified insiders on this case. At least that's what's written on the first page of the thread.

Thank you—I must be blind, I’m not seeing an age range anywhere in that link. But—it doesn’t matter.

I need to be nice. I circled it. :) Thank you for letting me feel kind.
