Regarding the voice, "guys...down the hill". I agree it sounds calm and authoritative. His voice also sound masculine or more mature and not that of an 18-27 year old.

I agree. And hard as I try I can’t see an 18-27 year old in the lower body of BG either. I guess it’s a good thing I don’t work in the FBI surveillance analytics unit.

My opinion is over 30 and doesn’t necessarily look younger. I know they say he may look younger and there is this new “primary sketch”, doesn’t mean it absolutely is the case. JMO.

I think he's under 30 and I won't be surprised if he's college age or younger (though not necessarily in college).

I just can't figure out why no arrest! Go get him!

If LE changed direction and have a new POI/suspect in mind they need time to get their ducks in a row in order to get a conviction. And the accused have the right to a speedy trial.
IMO everyone working on this case is committed to it and they are doing whatever they possibly can to solve it.

DNA isn't useful if your victim's died at range. And no one except law enforcement knows how exactly these victims died.
I don't understand what you mean?

In most cases like this they won't make an arrest until they're sure they've got the evidence they need for a conviction.

My middle son is 20 and he has a very deep voice, but it's not as mature or rough sounding as what I hear with BG. Although, you're probably right and my eyes and ears could be fooling me.

My both sons have deep voices, but not that raspy.

But what if he simply had cold? Hence the warm clothes and the raspy voice.

It sounds like he was drinking and smoking for the whole night, but when I catch cold, mine is no better. Also, if people had laryngitis once, they are more prone to it, so maybe this was all to it. Laryngitis.

I can kid of see it. He just looks like a rural Indiana guy who dresses basically like rural Indiana guys dress.

- but not that scary since the girls followed him down the hill willingly, so they must have seen him around.

So in many ways, “my” BG looked very much like the OBG.

But now they changed everything. The portrait. And mostly, the stabilized video. I can’t unsee it.

[bbm]

I think the opposite. I think he was vey scary and they did not follow willingly but were ordered 'down the hill' by him, possibly while brandishing a weapon. I can't unsee the 'old' BG either.

It can be useful if the perp left biological matter on the victim or if the victim physically fought with them before they were killed.

And some people have a raspy voice without a cold, laryngitis, smoking, drinking.....it's hard to say.

I feel the same Jane. I’m having nightmares that I’m walking along the high bridge it is windy and BG is following behind me, then I hear “down the hill” on repeat and finally I see the new sketch.

My sweet husband told me I need to quit reading on here, ha!! He’s got criminal justice background, so we discuss it often. But, after reading certain things I can’t stomach it. Praying for those families and for justice to come soon!

Yes, and despite the younger looking sketch, I’m going with early to mid 30s. His voice and how he said those words indicates to me someone with confidence and maturity. I also think he’s a smoker and primarily works alone in an authoritative position. I don’t think he lives in Delphi. I think he lives in a surrounding area and/or frequents Delphi for work. IMO

It's a small town, and this is a big, costly manhunt. If local police or the FBI had the DNA of the person responsible for the initial attack, it would be easy to trace.

I’m not the writer of that post but I think “at range” refers to at a distance. (ie gunfire, arrow, no physical contact),

Would someone please post again the date and which church played the movie The Shack in/near Delphi. It was the chuch Libby's grandparents attended, I believe. Thank you.

  • #696
That's what I think as well. IMO I think he's from the area, but didn't personally know the girls or their families.
I think he knew who the girls were through other acquaintances. I believe he knew they would be out there that day.

I would be checking every yearbook from 2 years ago in the surrounding area. LE is correct. Today he may look very different than he did in the most recently revealed sketch that was drawn 2 years ago.

This is a dated article but I think it is interesting what Libby's GM says about the DNA evidencehttp://www.mychinews.com/crime/delphi-murders

We were able to speak with Libby’s grandmother, Becky Patty, who raised her and has done much of the public speaking regarding the case and started the brainstorming Facebook group. She mentioned she’s not sure where the Indiana police are on their investigation or when she would see justice for her daughter. Despite this, she remains hopeful. “Do I think they’re gonna catch him? Yes, I do. There’s too much evidence there for them not too. Are they catching them as soon as I would like? No, but we do have faith that they will get him one day. Sooner rather than later”.

Considering the evidence, it is unfortunate that police have been unable to make an arrest in the case. We asked Ms. Patty what she believes may be holding the police back. “Something that I am looking into more and more is I’m getting conflicting statements. I told my husband the other day I need somebody that can explain all this stuff legally to me. You have the golden state killer case, and they say that all came about through the analysis of DNA a different way. Indiana is one of the states that doesn’t search the DNA the way that they did. I’m getting conflicting data saying there is a way that they can do this and then I’m also being told there isn’t. I’ve got to do more research. If there is anything out there that could potentially help this case, it would be the police having better usage of searching DNA.”

It sounds like they do have dna and it didn’t match the criminal database. And Becky Patty wanted them to use the dna as it was used in the GSK case, upload to an ancestry dna database and use the cousin matches to find POI. (It ultimately identified GSK, but was a long process to go through all the male matches.) I’m wondering if LE was finally able to do this, and they’ve identified a family group and that one of their vehicles was in the vicinity of the crime that day but it all comes down to who had access to the car that day and who used it. LE may be putting pressure on that family to figure it out and come forward. MOO.

This guy had limited time, and was on a mission.

He’s lucky he wasn’t spotted, as committing a crime like this in broad daylight, is as stupid as it is evil.

It’s hard enough to control and murder two teenage girls, let alone video the thing.

As far as committing a crime broad daylight being an indicator of intelligence/organization as an offender, Israel Keyes committed crimes in broad daylight and is still considered to be an organized offender.

“Methodical, organized, self-aware, with a gruesome, compartmentalized life.“
https://mynorthwest.com/5599/profile-of-another-washington-serial-killer-israel-keyes/

“He buried "kill kits"--cash, weapons, and body-disposal tools--in remote locations across the country and over the course of fourteen years, would fly to a city, rent a car, and drive thousands of miles in order to use his kits He would break into a stranger's house, abduct his victims in broad daylight, and kill and dispose of them in mere hours And then he would return home, resuming life as a quiet, reliable construction worker devoted to his only daughter.”
AMERICAN PREDATOR: THE HUNT FOR THE MOST METICULOUS SERIAL KILLER OF THE 21ST CENTURY | Rizzoli Bookstore

“With organized offenders, there are typically three separate crime scenes: where the victim was approached by the killer, where the victim was killed, and where the victim’s body was disposed of. Organized killers are very difficult to apprehend because they go to inordinate lengths to cover their tracks and often are forensically savvy, meaning they are familiar with police investigation methods. They are likely to follow the news media reports of their crimes and may even correspond with the news media. Ted Bundy, Joel Rifkin and Dennis Rader are prime examples of organized killers.“
Organized Versus Disorganized Serial Predators

“A month later, he (Bundy) grabbed a twelve-year-old girl in broad daylight.”
