Well, it is not every day that you commit two murders. There was a lot of multitasking I assume, so something got out of his periscope’s field of view.?

Oh, I just meant he might have had a hard time getting across the bridge, picking out a girl to focus his ambush and not noticing the other was discretely filming. Hope that makes sense.

I think this is exactly why
He panicked when it rang
omg, I never even had the thought that her dad may've called her while with the perp! If it had rung, the perp would've probably noticed her cell for sure!

MassGuy, off the top of your head, and I am asking seriously and not in a challenging way (I will clearly state if I am being challenging lol), is can you (or anyone else) name an example of a perp who would be similar to what you’re thinking about being dumb and just lucky and able to evade for so long? I’m sure there are tons of examples but I was trying to think about this the other day and was not recalling any specific examples off the top of my head. Tia.

LISK. MOO.

I have nothing to offer this investigation, because what is needed is the identity of the perpetrator, and with me living in a far distant country, I could never offer this information. This is why I have never posted, even though I have followed every single thread since day dot.

Therefore the following observations are just me voicing my opinion. They really are useless, so scroll by if you're hoping for something useful!

This is, in every respect, the most bizarre crime I've ever come across. Mainly due to the amount of official information released, which not only gives us no information, but contradicts itself in each part. In the initial press conference we were given an image and an audio recording. I can't remember the exact statement, but we were left with the information that the voice and the image may not both belong to the same person, and yet there is not definitively more than one person involved. Or the other way around; the audio and image may both be of one person, but that doesn't mean they are the only person involved.

This is followed by a sketch of a face, which we can place on the image of the individual we have come to know as BG, and who we consider to be the offender.

Then in the most recent presser, more than 2 years on, we are told that that image is considered to be 'secondary', and a new (original) completely different sketch is now depicting the suspect. An image which is totally different in colour, age, structure, hair set and expression. No explanation why, or what we should make of the first sketch.

If I were someone who was local and had an inkling about someone, all of these inconsistencies would prevent me from exploring my suspicions further

You could get the idea, LE don't want to send the suspect to his doom because of the foreseeable public outcry. IMO

I don’t think so. Not that I know for sure, but think the two weeks was to ask the media to leave the family alone after the new direction of *possibly* a younger person of interest and new takeaways that, for the betterment of the case, have a reason to be out of the public eye for now.

I truly feel new leads are being pursued and we still won’t hear anything until the announcement of an arrest.

I feel it won’t take another two years. IMO.
I so hope you are right!

The family was definitely calling and texting. Why BG didn’t hear it will be interesting to understand.

Franchise it! Same with DNA testing rape kits. If that could be handled by indy labs certified by LE to drive the cost down, the tens of thousands of untested rape kits might already put BG's DNA in CODIS!

Slightly OT, but I had posted another article on this very subject about 3 weeks ago. Three years ago the KY labs were over run with rape kits, some going back forever ago. Orders came down, they were to be processed in "x" amount of gawd awful time.
Early in April, this article came down from on high, so you see, action is being taken not only in processing the backlog BUT to get them to CODIS within 2 weeks time using each state's lab system.

Kentucky becomes first in nation to use two-hour DNA tests in rape investigations
