Speculating is fine but, geez people, use your noodles!

Me too! Then I worry that if I ever do witness something and I’m able to give LE clear info, they’ll be suspicious that I know too much. “Well you see Officer, I’m a part of this website...”
Yes! I also have that conversation in my head. I would have to include, "Don't look at my search history on the computer. It means nothing!"

I think a gun was used to control the girls, too. I'm not so sure that it was actually fired. I live out in the country and hear so many gunshots on a regular basis that they no longer register to me. I probably wouldn't be able to remember which day I heard one, much less what time.

MOO you might have noticed shots in the afternoon if in the early evening searchers came to the the door about missing persons.
MOO any one hiking on a trail would definitely notice shooting nearby.

What if the victims were running as fast as they were able, through the uneven terrain dotted with clumps of bushes, trees, littered with fallen leaves and rotting fallen timber?
I feel like with the time frame it doesn’t give BG much time to run around chasing both girls & trying to corral them. Moo

I couldn’t even imagine the confusion and mistrust this would cause if this was the case. Leo’s and their entities are so passionate about this case, I couldn’t see them deceiving the families and public like this.

Intentional public deception by LE can also be problematic during a trial. If a jury is to convict based on evidence they’ve collected, it can benefit the defence if LE has not interfaced with the public applying the utmost of integrity. Public deception plants the seed, can the evidence be trusted?

I'm stuck on what a WSer posted awhile ago. A witness on the trail that day said she heard a couple arguing. Could that have been Abbey and/or Libby with BG - and they weren't arguing as much as perhaps pleading while he was ordering?

Shudder to think of it.

jmo

yes, it absolutely could maybe far away it might have sounded like older teens/young adults arguing rather than younger teens.

and was the original sketch of someone that was not placed at the park by a witness but simply came off the assumption that BG looked like a known SO? Did the FBI not analyze the video to see what we now see - a younger, thinner person without facial hair?
That is a good question. We know the first sketch came from the FBI. They use a program called FACES, an added feature is extracting facial features from video to create a composite. So was the FBI fooled by the disguise or did they just rely on the software? If the witness who was afraid saw him with his head and face covered they just saw his eyes, so the rest of the sketch had to be guessed at, IMO. But then according to some retired LE officers who claimed to have inside info, the sketch was a SO who was arrested and convicted last year.
While we have confidence to see the FBI step in, they may have been the agency who caused the last 2 years to be offtrack especially considering the ISP officer made the sketch 3 days afterwards without his head and face covered!

BP said there is audio of the girls interacting with him.

Maybe he didn’t try to corral them because he was outrun and instead shot them in the back? I can’t think of another scenario that might’ve led to their deaths than would’ve involved less time.

I am hoping so much that a tip has come in this week that the LE need to tie this case together. Block by block they will build this case and it will be airtight!

May this week be the week they arrest the monster!

There must be. I can’t think of any reason for Libby to quickly turn off her phone after the murderer spoke the words “down the hill”.

I also look at the clock when I hear or notice something that "could" be something - because of WS! jmo
I started do that after watching the OJ trial when they were questioning the Gretna Green area residents on what they heard when. I thought I better pay attention just in case.

Does anyone know how large the Delphi PD is? I only ask because some of the smaller agencies don't know about DNA Parabon, or don't have the funds to get a profile and genealogy done. I know of a PD in outskirts of a large city, that is not familiar with the process and was asking about it recently. We just assume that everyone knows what we know. But the truth is, not every agency has the money or the manpower, or is up on all the new technology that is out there to help solve these cases. I really think that if they have a full profile this would be a great way to go.
They have involved Nasa and Disney to to make the quality of the pictures they can .The FBI are involved.
They have contacted every specialist they can think of to help them.Money is not a consideration in solving this.
Are you really being serious thinking they might not know about the latest technology or Parabon?
I am sure Doug Carter would welcome you insights into their investigation.

He did not need to make himself look different if he looked nothing like the first picture of BG.
He may not have needed to, but LE has stated that he probably looks different than he did 2 years ago, such as having longer hair or growing a beard.
They also said they believe those close to him have noticed how much he has changed since the murder.
Between his mental state and his appearance, there must be someone, or several people that know he is the murderer.
Or at least, if they suspected before, they are more sure of it now. Imo

Where’s the link pertaining to the retired police officers who said they had inside info please, and secondly, how would we know whether they were retired police officers or not?

There are silencers. JMO.

Silencers alone are not that quiet like in the movies. You still need ear pro if you're shooting a suppressed gun because of the sonic boom of the round as it leaves the barrel.

Granted, in the crime area we are talking about, you would not be able to tell direction but the shots would be audible to the hikers. It is also possible that it would not be recognized as gunfire but someone would surely go "what was that?", enough to generate comments to law enforcement afterwards.

To get to that level of quietness the killer would need here and to not alert anyone around in that wooded area (my assumption is that the crime scene is about a mile away from the closest hiker/person) one would need a can, subsonic rounds (.45 acp is naturally subsonic), and quick action. At that point your slide would literally make more noise than the round. Possible but...

You would also need to get through a complete ATF background check and wait an average of 190 days before you can even get your suppressor (ATF Wait Times). And I won't even go into the costs of threaded barrels.

So to get to that level of planning (and knowledge) to be able to have that in your possession to commit this crime means a LOT of premeditation. Meaning that this person had kept such a quiet profile thus far and had such a clean background to be able to get a can and go kill two girls on a hiking trail. Again, not impossible but it starts to become less and less likely.

NOTE: Still waiting on verification, so treat the above as MOO.

It really is quite remarkable how close to the actual person those pictures are. I just looked through some of the test ones done and quite a lot of them are almost dead ringers to the DNA provider!
