If there's only one cell phone tower in the area, or even with two, it's not usually possible to get a precise location for the pings. So the comment about pinging around town might not mean that the phone was moving, it might just mean that it never left the immediate area.

Thanks for pointing this out carbuff! I hadn't even thought of that.

Looking at the video, that bridge seems too dangerous to even try to cross.
If one girl had fell and the other tried to save her and also fell, it would have been easy to understand if they had been found downstream. Only problem is they were found upriver from the bridge

Video of guy driving from 25 to go to the bridge. Wondering if this is where they were dropped off.

This would explain the one comment that they were supposed to meet at the bridge to be picked up, and also answer a previous poster's question about whether it was possible to drive from I-25 to the bridge.

If the autopsy was scheduled for 8 this morning, how long before we could hear anything?

The state police dude on twitter said he had a noon meeting to discuss the situation and decide about a press conference. So maybe after lunch central time? Or is Indiana eastern time?

I dunno....this bridge seems like it could be dangerous.... I know this is considered a historical bridge (I think I read that somewhere) but maybe it should be 'fixed up' somehow where it could be made more safer to 'all' that could enjoy it? I'm coming from someone with a child (maybe not a child in the sense, he's 18 now) but he's high functioning autistic and I would never let him on that bridge. Heck, I wouldn't even let my 16 year old daughter on that bridge alone or with one or more of her girlfriends....maybe with me or another adult.

I dunno. Maybe you have to grow up in a rural area. That bridge looks perfectly safe to walk on. It's wide, solid, and doesn't appear to have any gaps in the planking.

watched the video of the drive from 25 to the trail - allowing for pauses and fidgets in the video - 5 minutes tops to leave the main highway and get to the trail head. Possibly unrelated - just an observation.

Did you get a chance to watch the video of the man walking across it?

I hadn't when I posted; it went up while I was composing mine :) Yeah, I think I'm wrong about the safety.

But then the safety doesn't seem to be an issue. If they were found almost a mile upstream, there's no chance that falling off the bridge was a factor.

Sorry, I just disagree....my son and daughter did grow up in a rural area...South Carolina....and I still wouldn't let them cross that, ALONE. Plus, it did have 'gaps; in it and nothing on the side to guard against falling....look, maybe I'm taking this a little too far, it's a maybe a historical site or some are hoping it becomes a historical site, but in my opinion (it's just me) it isn't safe for 'ALL' to enjoy and maybe it should be closed until it's made safe for all to enjoy...just MY opinion and I know it'll upset some and I'm sorry....but it just doesn't seems safe to me.

It's a moot point since they didn't fall off the bridge, isn't it?

From what I am reading, there is no thought that the girls fell of the bridge accidentally , is that correct?

LE has said foul play?

So even though I agree with the above poster, the bridge doesn't appear safe, does that have anything to do with what happened here?

I am catching up.

ETA

Just read your post carbuff
So safety of bridge is not a factor

Right. And has anyone ever fallen off that bridge?

well kinda.....I'm not even sure (since I don't live there) if I would even let my children 'walk' that trail....we now live near the Montour Trail in Western PA and even that trail has spots where I wouldn't let my children alone on it.

http://montourtrail.org/

It all began with a walk on a trail, right?

it's a shame our children can't even do that safely nowadays.

SH 25 crosses the trail - just sayin. I looked at all the pictures of the bridge and I thought it was scary - made my legs hurt looking at it. 63' in the air and rotten timbers all over. When i first started following this thread, I thought maybe they had fallen, or been chased or pushed, but then they said they were found upstream and away from the bridge. Confusing and too many options without all the info. Just thinking out loud at this point.

Here are the cell towers to show carbuff makes a valid point.
