I interpreted that as that the girl SC reposted the image on her social media act and that's why her name is at the bottom but it isn't because she took the actual picture. I could be wrong but it just looked like a repost to me so that's how I interpreted it.
You could be right.
What concerns me most though is that LE usually disclaims with photo: this person is not considered a suspect, we only want to talk to him blah blah, because he may have seen something blah blah...But they didn't!!! Telling us what???

That's totally possible, actually... and from looking at the girls social media it appears they were into sports. I've seen some team photos... they could have been wanting to exercise, etc. I live in CA and hiking is a HUGELY popular pastime...

I just hope this perp is caught soon, because it's a terrifying case.

I don't think they've had much experience with cases of this magnitude. They aren't really saying many things the same as other LE agencies IMO. Now that I think about it, they are blessed to not have had much experience with cases like this.

I saw something saying they thought he might be a witness.

Is there anyway that picture could be from someone who was making a video ? So the shot is just screen grabs of more footage?

I've seen nothing official about trail cams or game cams. I think that it just as likely from someone's phone. Blown up which is showing the pixilation.

The taller main guy on the press conference definitely seemed lacking in experience to me. Probably why his wording was bad in some spots. He also asked the sheriff for advice, to answer some questions, asked him if his answer was okay, that sort of thing. Like a teenager on his first day of work.

I am not at all saying this guy did a bad job. "Lacking in experience" is probably a factual statement for him and a lot of the officers on this case. Not many towns of this size are going to have murder cases like this...

One more thing, for everyone on this thread. These are just my thoughts okay. But I think those of us who are interested and involved in true crime have an inflated view of how common these violent crimes really are. Yes, it could happen to anyone, but statistically the chances are small. SO small. You'll be okay. Your children will be okay. Hindsight is 20/20 but I don't think the girls or the parents made any mistakes by dropping them off at the bridge. It could happen to anyone, but there's literally a .000005% chance it will happen to you, and the chance of a random attack is even smaller. Don't let these stories prevent you or your kids from living a fulfilling life. The world can be pretty doom and gloom from this point of view. We have to remember to poke our heads out and bathe in the sunshine every once in a while. That's all.

I agree. The news stories say "photo". Nothing about trail or game cams. Also looked on city and county websites, wasn't able to find any mention.

If it is a trail cam, there will be photos of the girls too :(

I think they have a POI in mind. And why wouldn't they have firm information as to the drop off point and planned pick up point of these girls???? That should be the easiest verifiable point in the whole case. WHO dropped them off anyway???? Something smells here. Jmo, moo.

Why was there the article with a picture of a man walking that bridge asking if anyone recognized him?

and where did they get that picture of him?!

I'm trying to source the article again.

eta: here it is http://heavy.com/news/2017/02/liber...photos-bridge-delphi-trails-picture-identity/ - sorry i thought i was at the last page of the thread when I posted this but now I see everyone knows about the guy on the trail. ok cool.

This case has really affected me. I don't have daughters and really only follow a few cases here on Websleuths but I accidentally hit feed on my Tapatalk and this came up. It's really bothering me and I even talked about it with my partner who knows I'm on here but knows I keeps things at bay. Idk what it is about this but I'm truly heartbroken and want nothing more than Justice for these girls. I never care about Facebook fodder but I'm so tempted to make a fake page just to hear the gossip. Ugh.

I see the outline of a gun in his coat pocket. barrell facing inwards and handle closer to his tummy. It is very clear to me, but who knows. On the left side (would be his right coat pocket area). JMO

Almost looks like he's walking out if the woods pulling up his pants. What everyone thinks is a brown shirt tail to me looks like underwear and his position even looks right for it. Could explain the bunchy look of his coat.

Overactive imagination at work.

The brown fabric on the right under his jacket is definately a fanny pack or something like that. I saw a blown up picture and the brown isn't on the left. He has his hands under the pack in his pocket. Also is wearing a tan/brown hat.

If it is a trail cam, who's trail cam is this? Was it the killer's trail cam? It just seems extremely odd that there is a random trail cam at this one location. I know people have said maybe for hunters..but why would there be hunters actively hunting that area when it's a common hang out for lots of people including children?

It may be just me, but that's a pretty scary bridge for a couple 13 yr.olds.

I am speaking of the bulge in the blue jacket. It looks like a heavy item the way it is pulling the fabric and the outline looks like a gun. Ill try and draw around it and post it to see if we are looking at the same thing.

Looks like a bottle of water maybe by his right leg. The white handles of a plastic bag coming out of the top of the coat, maybe his lunch? and a cell phone in his left coat pocket. Looks like the tan could be a meat packers apron of sorts.

I wonder which direction he's walking on the bridge? Maybe it's unimportant, I don't know. But if somebody came up from the south they'd have to walk northwest across the bridge to the other side of the creek, which is also the side the girls were found on. It looks to me that he's walking southwest (couldn't stop myself from checking google earth). Meaning this MIGHT have been after the crime IF this guy is the perpetrator. I want to stress that I'm not making any definite claims here. This is 110% speculation.

There's one aspect that really worries me about the photos. Of all the possible characteristics we've thunk up that differ between the photos, the gun shape on his jacket remains in both.

Speculation, speculation, speculation. Sorry! I feel oddly connected to this case. Probably because my little sister and my best friend's little sisters are all young teens. Still kids, dipping their toes in to stormy waters... Stresses me out wickedly.
