This guy seems bundled up whereas the picture of Liberty is a light jacket that's open.

He does seem bundled up...I was thinking that as well. But, I was once a teen and would run around with wet hair and a sweater in the winter in much colder temperatures. And my children did as well, despite my nagging. It's more likely she unzipped and they were dressed more lightly, because that's a teenager thing. Impervious to the cold and no-one looks good looking like the stay-puff marshmallow man. Seriously, I can't count how many times i have said "where is your coat". And I'm sure my mother can't either

We were looking at the meat packing plant because we found someone on the sex offender registry that works there and has two sexual assault crimes in two states against two girls around Liberty and Abigail's age. He coincidentally matches the photo pretty well but there are probably a lot of tubby middle aged men with white mustaches in Delphi alone. I have a feeling it's the perp, though :/ Gut feeling. When I sent the tip I mentioned there are coincidences with the Lyric and Elizabeth case.

I asked them to email back if they read my tip and this arrived in my inbox a few minutes ago
"Thank you. All tips are being passed on to every officer assisting with this case. Have a nice day!"

It puts me at ease that they will look in to it. I hope it's nothing but jeez, there are a lot of coincidences!

I agree that the perpetrator probably saw about the snow day and took advantage. Reports from locals say it was widely known that the area they went missing in is a popular spot for teenagers to spend time.

Am I the only on that sees a light colored mustache? I've never seen a teenage boy with facial hair like that. It's possible though.

His outfit is not fashionable whatsoever. Like, not at all. In my mind either he's around his 40s give or take, he's a time traveler from the early 80s, or he's a very out of touch/uncaring teen.

I'm going for the time traveler JMO

No, I see it too--this is zoomed

Could be, but it looks pretty large to me; and would someone really put a gun in their pocket facing that way (with the handle positioned away from the pocket opening)?

Any chance he has a little dog in his coat? Picked it up to cross the tracks. Just a thought.

I don't think the guy in the pic looks young. My first reaction is he is middle aged. At least he is dressed like an older guy. JMO

Apparently several people have thought they recognized him. I guess we will see....[ lady on FB said she thunk she knows who it is---when she called LE they said several others have called with same name...]

He doesn't look going to me either! At all! I can't remember the last time I saw a high school boy looking like that. Maybe my brother in 1985. Lol. Kids don't usually dress like that now.

The guy that had been mentioned (reported) several times was the non compliant sex offender.

Personally he looks about 17-18 to me. I think he was probably a high schooler who was out due to snow day and could possibly be the killer. JMO Its those chubby cheeks and that round nose - that near awkward bowl cut. To each his own though! local_lady's post about how it is a hangout for middle and high school students speaks to me beyond that.

Was the killer dumb enough to walk around with their phones after he murdered them? Then grew a brain and chucked them in a trashcan in town or in the water? I think it is strange if he did take their phones. Did he think there was evidence on the phones that could link to him and he wanted to destroy it? hm. interested in seeing the evidence and how things play out.

I actually think he looks like he's middle aged. His stature doesn't resemble my dad's but his clothing does. Those jeans don't look like the type of jeans a younger male would wear.

I've also seen a lot of different interpretations of the shirt under his jacket but my dad wears carhart t shirts and they're similar to what this guy has on. They're heavier and usually longer than just a regular t shirt. He wears them a lot to work.

Also, is he wearing his hood up or some kind of hat? I saw an enlarged picture that I can't find now but it looked like his hair was actually covered.

I looked up meatpacking apron, since I didn't know what it was. I don't think this is what is under his jacket. I think it is just a shirt. Like button down flannel style that can hang out on one side.

What it looks like to me is that he's wearing a light-weight jacket over a hooded sweatshirt. It looks like he has his hand in the pocket of the sweatshirt and the hood is sticking out of the top of the jacket (but he isn't wearing it.) He also seems to be wearing a hat, which may be casting a shadow on his forehead. At first I thought it looked like one of those hats that covers the ears (something like earmuffs, but I can't remember what they're called.), but after looking at the enlarged pictures, I think I was wrong. I could be totally wrong about all of this since my eyesight isn't the greatest.

If it is a trail cam, who's trail cam is this? Was it the killer's trail cam? It just seems extremely odd that there is a random trail cam at this one location. I know people have said maybe for hunters..but why would there be hunters actively hunting that area when it's a common hang out for lots of people including children?

I don't think they were using it for hunting purposes. I doubt many deer cross the railroad bridge and it seems odd that it would point in that general direction. The drop down to the creek would limit what could be seen and that camera would get hundreds, if not thousands, of pictures of people crossing that bridge (assuming the guy walking was what triggered it). There's also a wildlife reserve to the west of the railroad bridge that would not be open to hunters and is only 6 acres. It would have had to have been placed reasonably close to the bridge to capture the entire guy in the image with as much clarity (for a trail cam) as it has and most cameras won't even be triggered by something more than 40-80ft away depending on the model. Some won't take a picture until the object is in the center of the viewing area. I'm thinking if it was on the south side of the bridge, it could have been there to catch trespassers.

Could be, but it looks pretty large to me; and would someone really put a gun in their pocket facing that way (with the handle positioned away from the pocket opening)?
I certainly wouldn't. No way I'd reach in with a gun pointed at my hand. But I guess some people forget firearm safety and others just do dumb things.

I think he's older too. My husband also wears Carhartt tees and it's the first thing I thought of when I saw this picture. They also come in at least two weird brown shades. I thought in the enlarged picture, it looked like a hat with an embroidered circle logo. But it could have just been the weird pixel issue or a lighter spot if it's camo. So hard to tell.

I've figured it out. He's the swedish chef. The resemblance is uncanny.

Finally caught up on this thread!

When I was in high school back in the Pleistocene the river was the teenage hangout. That's where a bunch of my friends and I smoked pot for the first time. We'd been planning it for several weeks as I recall.

So with that in mind, one thought I had about how both girls may have been subdued: Say they arranged to meet an older boy at the creek and he brought a bottle of booze with him. Said booze had been spiked with roofies or something similar. Bottle is passed around to the girls first and he avoids drinking by saying he's already had some and they should catch up with him. Within minutes they are both woozy and then incapacitated.

My hunch is they were then sexually assaulted and killed by strangulation.

Rest in Peace Abigail and Liberty. Justice is coming!

For someone familiar with the area, is he walking toward or away from the crime scene? The sun is on the right side of his face.

So what are the odds this man is kind of depressed, and wanted to get out for a walk in the sunshine? I really think that's the most likely possibility - and he has nothing whatsoever to do with the girls disappearance. He just really looks like a sad, depressed guy to me. Men who are on the hunt for prey don't look like this - in my observation. I think this man is likely collateral damage, and he will be hurt by this forever.

I'll withhold judgement on that for now. LE knows the whiplash that occurs when they carelessly publish photos or videos of innocent people. That's a big part of the reason why they stopped using the word "suspect" and morphed into calling them a "person of interest". These two pictures are going out to a nationwide audience, and the cops know it. For whatever reason, I'd say they are about 90% sure this is their guy. They may have also found something at the murder scene that matches up with these photos we're seeing.

Right now, we don't know if these pictures were snapped prior to them going missing or afterwards. Also note, there are going to be pictures of Abigail and Liberty on that same game camera. I'm guessing their pictures were taken first on the camera, with the pictures of this guy showing up a few minutes later.

This is what I see. All the bunching under the jacket may be due to what I think is a hoodie. Just MO.

See my post #736 on page 50. I made a typo in that post, I said southwest when I meant to say southeast. Can't edit anymore :X

I could add photos of my reference points on request. I'm not sure that it matters enough, though.

I find it interesting that the map in this article depicts that the two girls Were found slightly apart...2 perps?
The marker to the left is the location of the bridge and the marker to the right is where both the girls were found. In the press conference they said about 50 feet inland from the water.

You can find that same map upthread with names for the markers. Someone on WS made it. There should be a version that lists nearby RSOs, too.
