So after thinking about the pics of the bridge guy I have a theory. I think the photos are from a trail cam but one a good distance from the bridge. I don't think he set it off. The bridge was not the target of the camera.

I think the camera was set off by a person or animal much closer to the camera but upon review they spotted this guy in the background. Blowing it up they got the best pic they could.

There probably is no clearer pic and and if they did catch a video of him walking it is too small (distant) to be helpful.

They haven't released time of death or cause of death as far as I can tell. I don't think they're going to. At least not any time soon. We know how LE likes to play this.

I am confused as to why there is so much focus on where the police obtained the video?

For me the source of the images is interesting for two reasons:
-if they are frames taken from trail cam footage it means there is a 'before' and an 'after' available. The fact that they have only released these images means that everyone else out there that day has been spoken to and eliminated.
-if the frames have been sourced by from an individual also on the trail at the same time, well, that person is a witness and may have seen/heard more and the police have that information.

People wondering why any one is interested in the video, part is to keep discussion going. I posted about other things also but get no response. I don't think it is a big deal if people want to discuss the video.

As an adult, but also as a public school teacher, I completely understand why the concept of the viewings being held at the school just feels "wrong" to some. In my opinion, bringing a large number (likely the whole town) of freshly grieving family, friends and strangers into the school for a viewing of two recently murdered students is unsettling with a capital U. We owe our children uplifting environments, or, at the very least, a "neutral" place to learn and focus on academics and music and sports. Not the presence of hearses and coffins and not to mention, an uncaptured killer. Sorry to be blunt, but it's all just way too macabre.

IMO, small discussions/school meetings should be happening now in order to support and guide these overloaded, mixed up kids. Now, it's about circling the wagons for a bit, with a memorial a little down the road where the kids can choose to contribute with stories of the girls, music tributes, etc.

Two deceased young teens, a very grainy photograph of a bundled up male crossing a bridge with his hands in his pockets, one photo of one of the victims crossing the same railway bridge, one search warrant issued at a local residence and endless speculation about decades old poor adolescent judgment and the origination of the male's photograph leading me to realize it in not only time for bed here but also time to move on.

It is good that the bodies were found so the families aren't imagining torture or other horrors. It is so sad to know that evil is real. I hope justice is served. I believe they will solve this one and until then...

You have made an interesting observation Blythe ... the male being bundled up, however, in the SC picture of AW walking on the bridge, she is not bundled up.

Unless it was an arranged meeting with someone they met on the Internet and he gave the alcohol with something laced like GHB or Rohypnol.

Can you provide a link about the times of death? I haven't seen this and I can't seem to find it thru a quick search

Not time of death but date. One girl's obituary states date of death as the 13th and the other girl's obituary states date of death as the 14th.

Locally here in Indiana that has been widely speculated about.

Do most feel motive is Sexual? Could the girls stumbled upon something or was this A sexual predator or school acquaintances who didn't like them?

No official times of death that I have seen but one girl's obituary has date of death as the 13th and the other girl's obituary lists her date of death as the 14th. HTH

Did I misunderstand about what's being held at the school? I saw "viewings " used in a couple of posts, not a memorial service.
My distaste was/is regarding a viewing, and not a community memorial service...

BTW, I haven't seen any speculation that this could involve fellow students/other teenagers. As we know, kids are killing other kids more and more.

Has there been any mention of this possibility?

I think if I knew COD I could answer easier...

When people say they would never allow their children to go hiking, they are blaming the parents of these girls. I find it disgusting.

I can't tell you how many times my kids walk next to me this time of year and I'm bundled up like I'm heading to the tundra and my kids are in just clothes.....I know my kids have a different definition than I do of "cold outside"

I guess the reason my mind went there is simply due to being on Websleuths. On every thread, and almost hourly, someone posts a link to a Facebook page or a Twitter page. I click on them constantly and look at the pages of these people. Sometimes I look through all their pics, sometimes I look at their friends list, many times I read whatever comments and replies show up publicly. I DO THIS. The people whose webpage I'm visiting have no idea I've ever been there. They have no clue that a random stranger came along and viewed all of their pictures and read all of their comments.

We all know about these sexual predators and stalkers. They spend a lot of time and put a lot of thought into how to trick their victims, how to get close to them, how to catch them off guard, etc. If this slug was simply intercepting and reading all of the social media posts these two girls made, chances are good he may have obtained a wealth of information about the two of them over time. I suspect he was only interested in one of them, but who the hell can say for sure ?
I do the same thing if I see someone on my daughter's FB page that I don't know. It's easy to do if they like or comment, you just "follow" them back to their page. And my daughter is 28!

I haven't heard any mention of it, and it probably is not the case but I haven't heard mention of any possibility or suspect.

Imo schools are places the kids know like the back of their hand, they are comforted by that reality and I think that having it at a school is a better option that another venue where the kids and not only overwhelmed by the actual event but also with unfamiliar surroundings.
The girls not in their classes, in the halls etc are always going to be a stark reminder. I feel that the school setting would give them a feeling if safety vs emotional turmoil. Again MOO

RE: the picture frames.

I think it's a trail cam that was tripped by motion closer to it, and the guy was way in the background. It appears to me that he's turning off of the trail for some reason. My theory is they were followed.

I brought up geocaching in an earlier post. I don't know snapchat, but I've posted geocaching finds on Facebook before, and such posts include GPS coordinates. Just wondering aloud if the SM accounts these young gals had would have had similar features.

Definitely a crime of opportunity, in my book. My hunch is this jerk either knew they might be there, or figured young people would be there on an unseasonable February weekday. Maybe these girls had a favorite spot where they hung out at, off the trail.

We don't lock our doors here in rural Indiana. Outside of the drug problems we have, crime is generally low. I live two hours from Delphi, and people here are rattled.

I don't agree. I don't believe they are blaming the parents. I am one of the parents that wouldn't ever let my kids do this. I am not blaming the parents when I say that. It's my acute awareness of the dangers of parks, woods etc that lead me to that decision.
I think these particular parents relied on the small community as a safety net. People feel safe in a bubble not realizing evil is everywhere. I don't blame them. I just don't think you can take people's personal parenting remarks and apply it as an accusation.
