Can you share how you have this info? Are you LE? a local? or is this information you have gleaned on SM?
I know LE. I am no longer local, nor am I LE, nor do I rely on ANY SM info.

Has it been discussed if it is possible that one died on the 13th and the other on the 14th?

I am wondering since this is small town and not many murders, if it was simple inexperience and trying to solve this fast. They got a lead and jumped on it. I think they said there will be a lot of searches that will probably be noting.

I have wondered about the same thing and hope to high heaven that is not the case. Law enforcement is only one side of an investigation. Because then, it goes to court and all that hard work can be thrown out the window! In Beverly Carter's case, the police secured a search warrant- as they should have. But, somehow, the judge presiding over the case threw out the evidence (her hair in the trunk of the car!!!!) saying the warrant was obtained unlawfully. I never understood how one judge can approve it and one then say that it was unlawful- why does one judge's word stand stronger than another. But, anyway---- they need to be VERY careful about how they proceed. If they search everything they can get a warrant for (as he already stated), this guy might walk! That is a risk no one wants to take. They need to consult and not do anything without triple checks. This baby killer needs to ROT in jail.

Using instagram and flickr I searched for Monon or Delphi and Indiana and I was able to find many photos of the bridge and secluded walking trails that had been publicly posted some as recently as last week.
-So many had comments like "back in Indiana this weekend and visited this favorite spot" or "found this great hiking trail" which had me thinking that not all that visit the trail are local.
-Many posts seemed to be from people walking alone and enjoying the solitude.
-The are quite a few hunting photos including blinds in trees.

I have ONE question for LE at this time, just one:

"Is there any indication that this could possibly be a sexually motivated crime, now that the autopsies have been completed?"

Their answer I guess would be "we can not comment on that at this time."

If anyone Is listening, please google some of Trevor Mattereraso I think that's his name and how they communicated with the public during Jessica Ridgeway's abduction. Of course each case is soo different, and I'm sure they have their strategy going, that's fine but I and we just want to help catch the guy!

It reminds me of a case involving 2 girls who were raped and shot in the head in California. They were not found until the following day and the 1st responders thought they were both dead. As they were examining the crime scene, one of the girls sat up. She had lost a lot of blood having laid there for over 8 hours, and was barely alive when they found them. The other girl did not survive.

When I saw the two different dates for Abby and Libby, I assume the same may have happened in this case but she unfortunately passed before they were found.

There is no way LE is going to tell the public that.

yes, I know full well that LE isn't going to disclose evidence taken. I was wondering what kind it could have been.

I don't think that man in the photo is local.

Yes I think it's time to branch this stuff out, as our late great Foxfire might refer to this, "jurisdictional linkage blindness."

I responded to you above, sorry didn't quote, having tech diffs right now, going under for a while

My possible theories at this time:

Random pedo on trails
Or
Bullying assault by group of teens, male or female.

Sorry If I misunderstood your question. Since one of the few things LE has mentioned is the importance of technology, I would assume computers etc. But since LE has told the public so little, it's all speculation.

Yes, because the dates of death are different on the obituaries. However, if one was alive when they got to her, seems she died on scene because late that afternoon a reporter stated both bodies were still there.

they could be waiting on info from snapchat etc, those companies are notorious at being slow to give out user information without the proper warrants etc

and good morning WS, its currently a touch before 6am here in SE Aus

This is the reason why I don't think the girls ever left the trail area with the killer. In a small town like that there is no way he would risk being seen with the girls in broad daylight out in public.

I don't think they left the area either. I speculate IF a random predator, it happened quick and in the woods, he came up on them and pointed a gun at them, maybe tied them up led them off, assaulted them then killed them.

ETA: ugh :(. Did either of them had to witness the other one? Omg I'm sick.

  • #377
I also speculate that they also likely found all kinds of evidence in the woods/crime scene(s).

It's hard to judge the exact time that fhe cam frames were taken, and LE are being tight-lipped about it. The guy is headed east or southeast, but appears to be turning to his left, which I'm assuming is off of the trail. Did he follow them off of the trail, then after the murders walk up or along the steep embankment, to the cemetery area? It's a short distance. Then there's what I'll call an 'access road' which is in one of the Fox 59 videoa. The road can't be too far from where the bodies were found. "Remote area" could mean different things to differenf people, a matter of opinion. As a hiker who is used to very challenging terrain, my opinion is where they were found wasn't really all that remote. Which makes me wonder if this was their normal hiking route, to the cemetery, then back, to the bridge and back to the parking lot.

A post up above alluded to the idea that the guy in the pics is not who they are looking for, which could be the case. I've seen it a few times in "whodunit" type cases, and wonder if the FBI train LE folks to do that sort of thing.

I'm wondering too if they're waiting for certain people to show up on SM who haven't been heard from, so to speak, since early in the week.

So many loose ends, although I wonder how much LE knows that they're not willing to share. A case im SC is what drew me to WS. It took years for LE to release key info on that case, and I'm sure it's just fhe tip of the iceberg, in fact what was released may have been a ruse to draw out the perps, make them slip up, etc.

This image was shared on Facebook by the Newton County Sheriff's Dept. Low quality and hard to read. I transcribed it in the last thread, and thought I'd paste that here to make it easier to find.

Situation: The Indiana State Police and Carroll County Sheriff's Department are requesting law enforcement assistance in identifying the individual in the below photographs.

Two bodies found in the woods east of Delphi in Carroll County have been positively identified as Abigail J. Williams, 13 of Delphi and Liberty Rose Lynn German, 14 of Delphi. They were reported missing on Monday, February 13, 2017. The bodies were discovered about 12:15 p.m. on February 14, 2017 in the woods near the Deer Creek by volunteers helping in the search for the missing girls. The families have been notified.

The victims were last seen alive around 1:00 pm Monday, February 13, 2017 when they were dropped off close to the Monon (not sure about this word) High Bridge near Delphi, Indiana. The images below are from a video taken in the area.

Anyone with information leading to the identification of the below individual should contact the Indiana State Police at (765) 567-2125 or Carroll County Sheriff's Department (765) 564-2413.

I can only read some of the very bottom text. "This information should be considered LAW ENFORCEMENT (cant read). Further distribution of this document ......" Not sure after that really.
Classic FBI, call them a witness get them to come in or a neighbor to turn them I in. Is easier for a neighbor to think of their person has a witness and not a cold blooded like but I bet the police believe this is their man.

"Authorities have not revealed where they found the picture, but it’s been reported they checked the girls phones upon discovering their bodies."

http://elitedaily.com/news/photo-of-man-found-liberty-german-murder/1793848/

I know there's back & forth of the origins of the POI's photo, but wouldn't it be something if the girls' smart thinking caught their killer?
So this proves they stayed in the area, but it makes me wonder who where they meeting there? If anyone. Did he go looking for someone, or was he a serial killer who needed more of a game, like bunch of the hillside strangler and need more of a thrill so he took both? This are my thoughts.
