With all respect I understand your point of view but please consider this also: My Grandfather is in his 70s also and if someone were missing on his property and he returned home around 6:30 p.m. on Feb 13th it would be dark. His property is also heavily wooded a d the ground is uneven. The likely hood of him stumbling over a twig would greatly be higher maybe thats why the property owner did not go out and search.

In the past we have conducted searches and asked for property owners permission to do searches of private property and then asked the property owners if they would search their outbuildings.

We owned multiple acres growing up and I agree with you my parents had no way of knowing what was going on ALL the property ALL the time. I think people don't realize how large 10 acres can be let alone talking about 40+ IMO

Sorry for my ignorance, but is a subpoena an order from the court for someone to answer questions from LE? Help me out here with this please.

Answer questions or provide information. Like it may have been how they requested surveillance video from area businesses.

I'm making a correction to my post #298 from earlier in this thread. It was a discussion of who owns the parcels that comprise the Monon High Bridge Trail.

This statement is incorrect: "The wooden posts that appear at the southeast end of the bridge in several pics I've seen are on CSX property right-of-way (which continues about 1000 ft further before ownership changes to a private person.)"

I should have said: The wooden posts that appear at the end of the railroad tracks shown in photos actually mark the END of the CSX property right-of-way that runs approx. 1100 ft from the middle of the bridge to those posts. Therefore, on the other side of those wooden posts immediately begin a parcel owned by a private individual. Sorry for the misinformation.

I do not read horror novels or watch horror movies nor do I watch any crime shows. I am a mom and a former educator. I am realistic in believing that you and I live in a world full of beautiful human beings as well as those who are a real life horror story. This BG is one of MANY who live amongst us.

This man isn't wearing those clothes anymore, you may have passed him in the grocery store today. HOW WOULD YOU KNOW? What are you looking at when you are in public? A blue coat? Don't bother... Look at his body type, listen for that voice. This was not a revenge killing, a meet up from the Internet, this was the work of a killer/possible rapist, predator, NORMAL LOOKING PERSON... To believe otherwise is calming your own nerves about this. Our society (because our faces are focused inward on a piece of technology) is making it easier for people to walk around without being noticed. LETS START NOTICING. DO NOT FEEL BAD FOR CALLING IN A TIP. Try to have a plate number or something on the person like a car type specific area, etc.. And spread the word. He could very well live in your town....... These are all my strong opinions.

From what I can make of all the logs filed with the cache it seems the cache is located towards the beginning of the bridge. I don't know if the bridge runs north/south east/west.

The location:

It is in deed a grain storage bin, most likely filled with grain soybeans or corn most likely. Could also be empty if the farmer had already hauled it to market. Most have entry doors with lever latch, and then a interior hinged compartment door that is bolted shut when full of grain. Now if its empty the interior door could be unbolted and swung back out off the way and only the exterior lever latch door is closed. We normally haul our grain in, clean out the bin and then re bolt the interior door shut and latch the exterior door so that its ready to be re filled in the fall. Not sure any of this is relevant but that is my 2 cents
Thank you! Not everybody outside of farm areas knows what these structures are like. I was imagining a big empty tall bowl.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I am grateful that FoxNews is giving this case so much airtime. None of the other MSM is doing that. I don't think there is any excuse for personal politics to color this blog or any other attempt to help in this case.
I think you may be misinterpreting the comment "I know how everyone feels about the news agency..." as politically motivated. Fox59 (not fox news) has posted questionable, potentially sensationalized headlines and tweets throughout the last month in regards to this case, which has lead to some comments of mistrust in this source. I don't watch fox news to know if this has been covered there but the sources I've read posted here have been pretty varied. JMO.

I live over 1000 miles away from Delphi and was really surprised to hear an announcement about Liberty and Abbie's murders on a local Christian radio station tonight. It was good to know that their case is reaching this far but I wish our local news stations would show the photo. I am thinking I am going to send out some emails tomorrow and ask them to do just that. We are a very touristy area with tons of people coming through right now as we head into spring and summer.

Primetime Justice on HLN briefly mentioned this case again tonight. Nothing new, but they showed the perp's picture and played the audio.

I wasn't even aware that there was adversity here about that news agency.
I'm glad they are covering this, and they are my news channel of choice so, lucky me.[emoji4]

I agree with poster who said the twist is this was random because That is what I believe also. And really TWISTS? There are SO MANY twists in this case I wouldn't even look into that comment.

My understanding is that it's a public road that dead-ends at someone's house. It might help you to look at the videos posted by Julie Melvin - "Retracing Libby and Abby's steps across Monon High Bridge", particularly video 1.5 & 2.

The Monon High Bridge Trail ends right at the NW end of the bridge, not in front of a private home. The bridge itself is half Carrol-County-Wabash -and-Erie-Canal (NW end to app.half-point) and half CSX Transportation (app. half-point to SE end):

I don't play PokemonGo so I'm not sure of the exact terms used, does anyone know if there are any "Pokestops" around the Monon High Bridge area?
Sorry if this has been asked just trying to think of reason's the girls were there that day.

Again, this assumes they have a suspect DNA sample to match them to, which is definitely not a sure thing.

They tried something like this (testing all the males in town) in one of the high-profile cases in the UK a long time ago. It didn't yield the killer, but he was eventually caught (the old fashioned way).

IIRC it did yield the killer because he tried to pay a co-worker to go submit DNA for him. The co-worker reported it.

I was told there are not. :)

Libby's grandfather said in his press conference the other day that the girls were there to take photos, and were avid photographers.

Is it known how many locals use the bridge on a regular basis to access town .... rather than driving..

  • #398
I agree that the twist is unknown to us, simply because wouldn't the sheriff of said the twist.... We have audio and video.... I mean, yes you can see that as a twist but killers have been caught on camera before, as in CCTV. I do believe he is referring to some act carried out during the murder, or a clue left behind.
I agree, I think it is more than the audio and video. In my humble had it been that he would of said something along the lines of " In my 30 years as a LE officer I have never seen the twist of having both audio and video of a suspect"

Here is my suggestion for a reporter the next time they can interview any LEO. Ask the following question verbatim:

Have you received any reports back from any of the labs that are processing any and all of the physical evidence (whatever that evidence is) that you have sent them during the course of this investigation?

In my mind there are only two answers that it can be logically. This is a yes or no question. (In reality, they either have or they haven't gotten results). We do live in a concrete world.

So:
1.) Their answer could be no. It's possible that the real answer is "no." Then we would know that everything is still in the works. I'm thinking that surely they have to have something back by 4 weeks, but who knows? MOO

Or

2.) Their answer could be yes. In which case the reporter would naturally then ask: What exactly have you received reports on or what information have you received regarding this physical evidence?
And their answer would most likely be: We can't really discuss that as it would jeopardize this investigation. Which I would fully expect their answer to be.

If the answer to the reporter's question is really Yes, then I don't see the harm in them saying Yes. The reporters can badger LE all they want with questions for details of the results of the evidence, but all LE has to say in response to any further questioning is "We can't really discuss that as it would jeopardize this investigation."

At lease we as the public would feel like some progress is being made.

That's my 2 cents.

(Now I suppose that answering Yes may somehow affect the psychological state of the murderer(s) and LE may not want to say Yes because of that. So the answer may indeed be Yes, but they are continuing to say No.)
