Based on LE's statements about previous alibis not being completely truthful, I believe they were referring to RL's alibi that he was out of town that night. RL doesn't look anything like BG though.
RL owns a 40-acre property. If he was out of town for the day, seems likely he'd ask someone to watch his farm, or maybe even tend to it. Also seems likely he'd have regular help which would also be familiar with the area.
Said he has a son (and grandson) that comes to play out in the woods according to the interview. Do 40-50+ year-old men really play in the woods?
Really seems to me like LE is on to something but proceeding extremely cautiously to avoid corrupting the case. They learned of something that prompted a search warrant of a home an entire month after the murders. Hope they're not just grasping at straws, but that seems fairly unlikely.
Two things:
One, it is also possible IMO, that RL was set up, especially, if it turns out the victims had been murdered ( COD would include intentional drowning..) elsewhere (which we do not know) and were dumped on RL's property after the fact.
But then..
Two, is it just me or has somebody else noticed, that RL seems so surprised not so much or only about the bodies and the fact of foul play, but very much about how the victims got to that location? He says repeatedly in his interviews, that the victims either walked there on their own, or that someone else led them there, because he thinks it is difficult to walk of a terrain and therefore difficult to carry someone. That is an odd comment IMO. It almost sounds like " they really should not be here on my property..they died somewhere else..".
I never doubted the possibility, that the victims had walked there themselves. So, why mentioning it? I would only be worried and heartbroken about what happened to the girls no matter when and where it had happened, or if they walked there on their own, or if someone led them there.
All IMO-Nin
Do they need cause beyond the bodies being found there and that he is on probation? I've seen others mention a warrant with probable cause is not required for those on probation, parole, etc. Is this true? Then why would they have a warrant for his property? There has to be cause.

Right? It also doesn't make sense that RL said its hard to get there and then finish the sentence saying you could walk there. It's contradictory. JMO
Could there have been a conversation between LE and RL like this:
"we've brought you in on a probation violation and we can force you to serve the original sentence (2 years) but we believe that you know something or are covering up for someone. Cooperate with us, tell what you know, who you are protecting and we can make this all go away. You are not a suspect but those girls were found on your land. It doesn't look good. Tell us what you know. You are looking at jail time as it is, do you want to add obstruction of justice or worse, accessory after the fact?"
I am not discussing him as a suspect here! Thoughts?
Honey? Is that YOU!?
LOL
Evil can be alive in older males
Familial DNA?I haven't been keeping on the threads but I saw the recent search warrant. My gut says RL is not bridge guy. Mainly because he doesn't really look or sound like him to me. And in that interview above he sounds out of breath. So he just doesn't seem like he'd be in good enough shape to attack/kill/whatever two teen girls.
But....I would not be shocked to hear if BG is someone connected to RL's property in some way.
ETA - Oh...and that tweet says they are looking for something to link OR CLEAR him from the crime. Does that mean they don't have any DNA evidence from BG? I assume if they did, they could clear RL quickly.

(shudder) that case. That disgusting man...Jessica Padgett's step-dad did. It happens.
Is it possible that someone not only used RL's house but also wore his clothes?
