All I have to say about this is that I hope I don't ever live in a country where a person can be convicted of murder based on the sunken spot of a ball cap.

Luckily WS can't convict anyone. Whew. You're safe.

I don't think the two body shapes look alike at all.

It's entirely possible the perp used the property - and perhaps the buildings - without any knowledge of RL. (At this point, with what we know now, that's what I suspect happened.)

jmo

I do get the arms/shoulders. Uncannily similar imo, Legs feet were a maybe for me, but yes, as someone else pointed out, RL's legs do seem thinner than BG's. I was struck most by the hat, or rather the "Pothole" (as someone put it), in the top of the cap. ( we've had people see a lot of weird stuff in those pics, but seeing a "Pothole" was a new one heh!). I don't know how often that might occur, but slapping a hat on your head, I guess it could be pretty common there would be a dent there...

The torso area cant really be taken into account imo as RL could have on a longer, heavier coat, so I can't say about the mid section. However I can not get past the fact that the HEADS are completely different. imo the head/face look nothing alike. RL's is thinner and just shaped differently.

Didn't LE say they were looking to clear RL OR make him MORE of a suspect? (I'll have to look for that statement) If so it would seem LE thinks RL at least has some knowledge that he might be holding back.

Yup. I am in my early 50s and my phone is my lifeline, sad to say.

My work lifeline, my family lifeline, my main way to browse and read online......

My husband, who is only a couple of years older than I, is always leaving his phone at home (not when he goes to work, but while running errands, going to dinner, movies. Etc.)

He also does ZERO social media.

He is by no means tech challenged....it's actually his profession. He is simply a crunchy, hippie ski bum who hates the idea of being tethered, whereas I am certain I would be lost without my pacifier/device. :shame:

It does seem that some people (not speaking about anyone here on WS) are obsessed with their phones. I forgot mine at home once and all day at work I felt naked without it! Or like I forgot my left arm at home.

That said, it's *because* of Libby's attachment (?) or affinity (?) for her phone that we have a substantial clue. MOO

Logic and Common Sense 101- RL is innocent, else you would have ......"Mr. Lo***" in the recording by the girl who lived 1/8th of a mile from the property he has owned for 50+ years.

That could be true, but is based on a lot of assumptions. If the girls had a gun to their heads and had been instructed to keep quiet, their voices wouldn't be on the recording at all.

Also, living in proximity to another person increases the likelihood you will know them, but doesn't guarantee it. I don't know many of my close neighbours by sight, let alone name.

Whatever stuff LE takes away from this search will need to be analyzed. They may not have any real results for weeks. So we could be waiting a while...

Yea for a while and the murder will be about 4 months gone by then. coldcase. moo

LE has yet to say that BG has a mustache.
Libby's grandfather asked folks to pay attention to anyone in their life who "had recently changed their appearance such as by shaving a beard or who is acting uncharacteristically strange ... ."

I understand it was more than likely a general statement, but ever since he said it I've wondered if the police shared with the family that BG had/has a beard.

It's a small town - less than 3000 - or so it's been repeatedly said. His property boasts a direct route to a known local destination - everyone in a small town knows that you can get to "a" by crossing the property of "b"......whether they knew him personally (as he had been a visitor in their homes), or by reputation.....it's highly unlikely they would not have recognized him on sight. I don't see him telling them not to speak and the. The recording starting and/or one of them not begging him by name to let them go.

Again, common sense and logic. Sorry that applying it means RL is no longer a rationale, or viable topic of discussion.

(Just over here trying to save the dead horses.)

And I didn't even mention the part that the man with the fish in his hand looked exactly like a troll. Not kidding - he did look like one!

But as weird as that story is, it's not as weird as two girls being murdered. What was the lure the perp used to control them? I don't think he lunged at them, but lured them. Well, maybe it was tropical fish.

Again, this is speculation, not really a theory....just thinking about how the perp got them secluded and in his control.

jmo
BG could have stormed up to one of them standing on a rickety platform and startled them into falling. Then decided to kill the other rather than be found out and go to prison. All MOO And assumes BG was in a foul mood.

I've had a similar event. White van was parked near a shop. As I walked past with my 4 year old an old man opened the door and some huge white growling dog was in there that he was trying to tell us WAS actually friendly and we should say hello...
Fish though??? So damn odd.

Personally I believe the BG has pulled a weapon on the girls from how he seemed to have been approaching. Libby was worried enough to take a pic of this man..he's done something odd. Maybe Libby could see something we dont in those pics. This man had a very bulgy shirt and seemed to be getting something out of his pocket. I think he started approaching very very rapidly and had his sights set on them. I don't think there was small talk.
I believe he went there prepared for whatever happened. Jmo

Such a sad and pointless crime.
Hope there is an arrest very soon

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office provided a mug shot of Ron Logan when they said he was booked into jail last week for a DUI probation violation.

“At this time just because we’re serving a search warrant and he’s in jail, I don’t want people to make that connection that he’s under arrest for double homicide because he’s not at this time,” said Sgt. Tony Slocum, Indiana State Police.

A judge granted a warrant for investigators to search his home and everything on the 40-acre property. But investigators would not share what piece of evidence gave them probable cause.

“I don’t believe it was just one piece of evidence I think the totality of evidence led to probable cause where a judge was able to issue a search warrant and that’s a normal course of business,” said Sgt. Slocum. “It’s not the first time we served a search warrant in this case.”

Investigators said they searched around a dozen homes trying to eliminate and rule people out in connection to the murders.

“We served multiple search warrants so far, and search warrants and evidence can either exonerate a person or maybe require law enforcement to take a closer look,” Slocum said. “But at this time Ron Logan is not under arrest for the double homicides of Liberty German and Abigail Williams.”

I'm guessing the encounter didn't start out violent or threatening, but started as a lure. THEN it turned violent.

JMO, of course. I don't know what happened.

edited to add:

Police are stressing that Logan is not a suspect in the case. Detectives say that his lawyer has advised him not to talk.

I will say this:

RL said he "knew the families".

I would imagine they would also know him, however peripherally.

Which logically, would mean they would have been able to look at BG and say "Hey.....".

That said, I sometimes have trouble picking my own child out of a crowd. She and her friends dress in very similiar types of clothing and sport similar hairstyles....and honestly, I will often "see" her 4-5 times before I actually "SEE" her.

BG looks like the Boogie Man, but sort of a generic boogie man. And the photo is very poor resolution. I'd like to think I would be able to id him if he were someone I knew, but I cannot say that with any certainty.

<snip> IMOO: The masochist is driven toward self-destructive behaviors/acts (for example engaging in life-threatening drinking, drug addiction, risk taking behaviors, letting your property go into forclosure, etc.).
Second: Leaving the bodies in your own back yard if you believe you have committed the perfect crime brings attention to yourself as a victim. People feel sorry for you. You can express your horror and pain at this awful event for all the world to hear. <snip>

This is fascinating. I work with someone who does this very thing (but obviously on a harmless scale relative to these circumstances). I've always had a difficult time articulating the nature of their behavior and how they seem to enjoy living in that space after they've created havoc in the background only to play martyr/victim in the foreground. Thank you for taking the time to write that articulate post.

I hope it was OK that I snipped it.
