Also, do we know what time they finished yesterday? Surely they stopped any outside investigation before dark.

Yesterday we heard they may be there all night, they could surely work inside through the night. Have not heard anything today, you would think we would know if they were still there. Where are the reporters?

Re: LE saying RL's alibi isn't adding up. This video led the 5 PM news in Indy yesterday. It's cut off, but context is explaining why they are searching RL's property. Sgt. Riley doesn't say outright that RL's alibi doesn't add up, but that seems to be the strong implication: https://youtu.be/Tkqx14nIz-c

I don't have enough info for an opinion on his role, if any, and it would be so utterly foolish to leave those girls to be found on his property. But it seems remarkable that instead of just saying this part of the investigation, they're owning up to his story or something about him "not adding up", and admitting that they're trying to exclude him as a suspect, or make him one/the one.

I'm really getting torn on this. I can agree with some not wanting to sleuth RL and having some sympathy for him, then I think to myself does he deserve my sympathy? Should I be giving him the benefit of doubt? Why, just cos he is 77 and the bodies were found on his land? As stated in the video, he has numerous drink driving convictions People who get in a vehicle whilst drunk have the potential to kill someone, and repeat offenses. Not good. I do not mean that means he had potential to kill the girls but to kill innocent people on the roads. It's not like it was 30 years ago the last one was as recent as 2014? And possibly again within the past month.

I just had to get this out.

ETA: I meant to add I have no respect for people that drink and drive

How about this:

Folks who do not want to discuss RL, don't.

Those who DO, and keep it within the allowances Tricia set forth, do.

If you see a post you don't like, skip it! ;)

(MOO, and I am only lurking, mostly anyhoo, so grain of salt)

I just don't want the thread to get locked, guys.
I agree. It is interesting to me how opinions vary so much case to case. The case that lead to me creating an account here is Danielle Stislicki. She disappeared early Dec and there has been a search warrant issued but no named suspect and no arrest. Everyone knows who lives in the house and we have been sleuthing him. The occasional person that speaks about his possible innocence is more or less crucified and believed to be associated with the individual being sleuthed. That individual is a black male in his late 20s. In this case, many are speaking out against crucifying the person who was named and a search warrant executed on his property where the bodies were found. He's a white male in his late 70s.

Just an observation. I will step away a bit until we hear more from LE.

It's times like these that I'm reminded of a scene from an excellent movie by the name of "Doubt". I highly recommend it for those who may not have seen it. But in this scene, the late great Phillip Seymour Hoffman plays a Catholic priest by the name of Father Flynn and he's giving a sermon that, while beneficial to the whole congregation, is aimed particularly at Meryl Streep's character Sister Aloysius who is trying to destroy him through allegations that have no basis in fact, but regardless, she believes them to be true. So here then is Father Flynn's parable, if you will:

Father Brendan Flynn: A woman was gossiping with her friend about a man whom they hardly knew -- I know none of you have ever done this. That night, she had a dream: a great hand appeared over her and pointed down on her. She was immediately seized with an overwhelming sense of guilt. The next day she went to confession. She got the old parish priest, Father O' Rourke, and she told him the whole thing.
'Is gossiping a sin?' she asked the old man. 'Was that God All Mighty's hand pointing down at me? Should I ask for your absolution? Father, have I done something wrong?'
'Yes,' Father O' Rourke answered her. 'Yes, you ignorant, badly-brought-up woman. You have blamed false witness on your neighbor. You played fast and loose with his reputation, and you should be heartily ashamed.'
So, the woman said she was sorry, and asked for forgiveness.
'Not so fast,' says O' Rourke. 'I want you to go home, take a pillow upon your roof, cut it open with a knife, and return here to me.' So, the woman went home: took a pillow off her bed, a knife from the drawer, went up the fire escape to her roof, and stabbed the pillow. Then she went back to the old parish priest as instructed.
'Did you gut the pillow with a knife?' he says.
'Yes, Father.'
'And what were the results?'
'Feathers,' she said.
'Feathers?' he repeated.
'Feathers; everywhere, Father.'
'Now I want you to go back and gather up every last feather that flew out onto the wind,'
'Well,' she said, 'it can't be done. I don't know where they went. The wind took them all over.'
'And that,' said Father O' Rourke, 'is gossip!'

Think twice before ruining someone's life folks...you wouldn't want it to happen to you or one of yours. JMO.

The police aren't helping matters with their remarks about things not adding up.

They werent killed by a drunk driver. Why all the biiboards all over the country? moo

Dropping this into who knows what...
Just saw a picture on TV of man wanted in TN for kidnapping the 15 yo girl (amber alert) and he had on a blue hoodie. Has anyone did a comparison on him?
Got to go.

LE (25 agencies and hundreds of officers) has had access to the FULL video for over a month.
LE (25 agencies and hundreds of officers) has had access to the FULL audio for over a month.
And LE has probably voice-matched audio on Libby's phones to a taped statement by RL to either LE or MSM - there are plenty of interviews with him through various news outlets.

Now, all of a sudden, on Friday, LE slaps their forehead and thinks, "OMG! How did we miss this???? RL looks exactly like Bridge Guy and IS Bridge Guy!!!!!! Let's get a search warrant and find more evidence for the arrest and prosecution of RL as the murderer! We've cracked the case!"

Hmmmmmm, really?

It's more likely that perhaps they received some kind of tip or tips that suggests that someone who Knows RL and is familiar with his land and home is responsible for the murders. Or there's some kind of tip that suggests that there is evidence to the identity of the murderer somewhere in RL's home and immediate buildings. I.e., tipster says, " So and so told me that he heard that so and so stashed the knife that was used on the girls in RL's barn, garage, whatever." or something to that effect. Now, LE may know that a knife was used, the public does not, so they need to investigate the tip.

RL is definitely not part of the murders. But perhaps he is in some way connected to the murders, which is completely different from saying he had anything to do with the murders. And that theory would suggest a search warrant being issued for his home to show his connection, that's all.

This is all JMOO.

I asked this last night but do any of you know if a cadaver dog would hit on a secondary transfer scent? Such as if Libby's and Abby had not been in a vehicle but the person who killed them and had not changed or or cleaned up had been would cadaver dogs still hit on that scent??

I don't want it to get locked either but how many posts saying the same things do we have to scroll by? How many voice and photo comparisons? I think everyone has come to their own conclusions on those. Can we just create a poll and move on already?

(I don't mind talking about his alibi or the SW or other theories though.)

I think they are unrelated. I www under the impression she was a student of his. He just recently was fired for inappropriate behavior with students iirc

Ok, totally goung out on a limb here. As we can imagine all of LE is pretty tied up with this in Carroll County. Maybe they moved him "for his safety" not just from inmates, but from harming himself??? Where there would be more "staff" that are not preoccupied with search warrants, tips etc??? JMO
Above was not implying guilt in any way. Maybe overwhelmed with having knowledge of the crime??? JMO

I completely agree...he's not necessarily the kind of person people are going to feel a lot of sympathy for and he certainly has had quite a few brushes with the law in the past. And anyone who drives drunk absolutely has the potential to kill someone any time they get behind the wheel. But I don't think that every person who has DUIs in their past is necessarily capable of killing two girls in cold blood. I don't find RL to be a particularly likeable person but I'm not sure if I believe he's BG or not. Maybe once there's more evidence released.

That is not what I said. Nor what I implied. I meant I do not know if I have sympathy for RL because of his past numerous convictions for drink driving. I have agreed with some that have sympathy and not wanting to sleuth him but because of his past convictions I'm torn, I'm torn on whether I should have sympathy for someone who's criminal record shows disregard for other people on the roads.

Idk if I'm making myself clear.

His past record, recent record of drink driving, for me puts his morales into question.

I'm :fence: as to RL, but LE's statement in this video at RL's property are very concerning.

"As we've gone further into the investigation and talked to other people, things are just not adding up"

"Basically we are trying to clear him, or look at him even harder"

Add in that a judge signed off of the search warrant citing probable cause, one can't dismiss this fact because they worry about tarnishing RL's reputation. The main focus is finding Libby and Abby's killer.
