I think they are unrelated. I www under the impression she was a student of his. He just recently was fired for inappropriate behavior with students iirc
Agree, unrelated. I'm following that case also and my understanding is he was fired for inappropriate behavior with "a student". And then teacher and student went on the run to be together. Amber Alert is bc of her age not because of anything being against her will. JMO.

That is not what I said. Nor what I implied. I meant I do not know if I have sympathy for RL because of his past numerous convictions for drink driving. I have agreed with some that have sympathy and not wanting to sleuth him but because of his past convictions I'm torn, I'm torn on whether I should have sympathy for someone who's criminal record shows disregard for other people on the roads.

Idk if I'm making myself clear.

His past record, recent record of drink driving, for me puts his morales into question.

sorry i misunderstood!

Way back how far? I just joined this blog yesterday and have no idea where to look for it...any help?

I'm really getting torn on this. I can agree with some not wanting to sleuth RL and having some sympathy for him, then I think to myself does he deserve my sympathy? Should I be giving him the benefit of doubt? Why, just cos he is 77 and the bodies were found on his land? As stated in the video, he has numerous drink driving convictions People who get in a vehicle whilst drunk have the potential to kill someone, and repeat offenses. Not good. I do not mean that means he had potential to kill the girls but to kill innocent people on the roads. It's not like it was 30 years ago the last one was as recent as 2014? And possibly again within the past month.

I just had to get this out.

If we stick to the facts of the case it is not gossip. Facts, RL is in jail for a probation violation, abby and Libby were found killed on his property. LE states that they have probable cause to search all of his property and they are looking to either clear him or move him higher on their list of potential subjects. LE has said the search is directly related to the double homicide. All this information is pertinent to the case we are here discussing.

But can you even really compare voices when recorded by different devices and microphones and not to mention atmopsheric conditions? And to me it sounds like the BG recording from Libertys phone may have been tucked in a pocket, it sounds like clothing moving ..like she hit record and pocketed it and started walking.
Too many vastly different variables IMO..besides don't professional news mics have wind filters and such?

Hmm....skibaboo do you remember who posted about estimated height?
Otherwise flag your own post with the red triangle and ask a mod how to do a search.
There have been so many threads I honestly couldn't tell you where it is.

OK, we don't know if RL is BG. But some things bother me. Who in the world is going to go down the hill from his house to the place where the girls were found and call it "pristine"? And how does he know that? How long had it been since he went down there? Did he patrol it frequently? And "pristine" is a strange word for a country boy.
And...those girls didn't drop off a helicopter onto the spot. They HAD to have been A) walked there under duress and made a mess with some bit of struggle, or B) carried or dragged there by someone really big and strong, who would have disturbed the ground with that kind of motion, or C) rolled down the hill behind RL's house or the cemetery, which would have made an even bigger mess. Even using a wheelbarrow to get from a hiding spot to their final place would have really disturbed the ground.
Also, I have not yet been able to piece together the timeline of when the information that the girls were taken from the bridge to the area behind RL's house was released, versus when RL told the tv interviewer that he didn't know how someone got the girls from the bridge to his property. IIRC he implied that they were forced/dragged from the bridge to his land, and I wonder how he knew that. His language in that interview is quite interesting, in any case. If someone would like to pursue that timeline, it would be helpful...
This is all MOO, as thoughts about this case pop up.

So if a person unconsciously aspires to make himselff miserable, what are the best, most proven techniques for doing it? Let’s exclude some obvious ways, like alcoholism, doing drugs, committing numerous crimes like felony DUI and probation violation, etc. Subtler strategies, ones that won’t lead anyone to suspect that you’re acting deliberately masochistic, can be highly effective. But you need to pretend that you want to be happy, like everybody else, or people won’t take your misery seriously. The real art is to behave in ways that’ll bring on misery while allowing you to claim that you’re an innocent victim, ideally of the very people from whom you’re forcibly extracting compassion and pity. I'd say leaving two dead bodies in your own back yard qualifies. Sadism and masochism are almost always present in the same person.

Good point! I hadn't looked at it from this angle.

[bbm]

why is his life ruined? if he's innocent, then their search will help clear him

as for the social media rumours - it's highly unlikely he has read any of it - he's 77 so I doubt he spends much, if any time online

From that perspective you could be correct, from another perspective, he is an elderly man, who most likely already has some pre-existing health issues. What if the stress of all this causes him to have a stroke or heart attack, or when / if he gets out, to go on a drinking binge and die from it, or to otherwise harm himself in some way. Just some food for thought.

LE (25 agencies and hundreds of officers) has had access to the FULL video for over a month.
LE (25 agencies and hundreds of officers) has had access to the FULL audio for over a month.
And LE has probably voice-matched audio on Libby's phones to a taped statement by RL to either LE or MSM - there are plenty of interviews with him through various news outlets.

Now, all of a sudden, on Friday, LE slaps their forehead and thinks, "OMG! How did we miss this???? RL looks exactly like Bridge Guy and IS Bridge Guy!!!!!! Let's get a search warrant and find more evidence for the arrest and prosecution of RL as the murderer! We've cracked the case!"

Hmmmmmm, really?

It's more likely that perhaps they received some kind of tip or tips that suggests that someone who Knows RL and is familiar with his land and home is responsible for the murders. Or there's some kind of tip that suggests that there is evidence to the identity of the murderer somewhere in RL's home and immediate buildings. I.e., tipster says, " So and so told me that he heard that so and so stashed the knife that was used on the girls in RL's barn, garage, whatever." or something to that effect. Now, LE may know that a knife was used, the public does not, so they need to investigate the tip.

RL is definitely not part of the murders. But perhaps he is in some way connected to the murders, which is completely different from saying he had anything to do with the murders. And that theory would suggest a search warrant being issued for his home to show his connection, that's all.

This is all JMOO.

Completely agreed. To add to that, the voice and photo of BG sounds and looks nothing like RL. Also, in all of RL's 53 years living on that property, now is when he decides to murder two kids? Bringing up drunk-driving is pointless too, considering murder isn't even in the same ballpark.

IMO, RL might know BG, but does not know that the person he knows is BG.

Yes of course. Hence on the other track i did on that page i simulate no pop shield and add treble. The non down the hill one.

I posted an estimated height but it was based on an assumed height of the wooden curb. Im just trying to make it accurate. Just trying to employ the use of my military police training to add valuable input.

Question for the Midwesterners who live on large peices of land.....how do you refer to your acerage? Do you call it your land, your property, or just your house?

From Crime on Line: Quote from RL, “To have something like this in your own house, your own home – I just can’t get my mind around it yet, it’s really difficult. I can’t comprehend it.”

We live on the west coast and in our area it is commonly referred to as "your property" when speaking about parcels of land over an acre. You have your home and then you have your property to maintain that your home resides on. This is completely different than having a yard persa!

IMO, I find it odd that RL refered to these girls murders as happening "in his own house, his own home"! These girls were found on his property, a bit of a distance from his home. I find it odd because it's so specific!

RL would have been aware of more than we know, anyway. He owns the property and has lived there for 50 years.
