If RL has lived there for 53 years, wouldn't you think the locals would recognize him and his voice by now? Even the LE, whom have had numerous run ins with him- they don't recognize Him from the image. Nobody that lives in Delphi is screaming "that's him!" Which I find odd.. I do lean towards someone being on his property and LE had some probable cause to research everything.
The reporting on this case is off.. why isn't any news stations reporting that LE has finished the search or they are still out there, etc..?

Perhaps RL doesn't interact much with others.

Why is RL's name being dragged through the mud, but not other homeowners who have had their property and homes searched?
If you read early threads, LE had to tell people to stop harassing and threatening the people on Bicycle Bridge Road. They certainly had their names dragged through the mud on social media and in their hometown. None of them were sitting in jail at the time. None of them lived on property where the bodies were found. And, quite obviously, nothing was found to implicate them in the crime. There's a good deal more pointing at RL as either perpetrator or accomplice after the fact. I don't feel strongly one way or the other about that likelihood, but I understand why he is a legitimate person to look at more closely.

I am also not really big on the idea that online "sleuthing" accomplishes anything in murder cases (as opposed to missing/unidentified person cases), but many people here are into that, and the site is geared towards those people. So, I don't see any problem with people looking into him at this time. Now, if nothing is found and he is released, I would have problems with people continuing to try to link him to the case. I have a big problem with people who continue in these lines of inquiry for years, simply because the case hasn't been solved.

Hi guys, I'm going to be that poster (sorry!). I have been gone the entire day and missed almost a whole thread.

I don't see any new MSM articles when I google. Is there any new news today or anything important I missed?

TIA!

The tracks and their dimensions were posted here already. The standard width between the metal rails is 4' 8.5". Of course the rails are missing from Monon bridge but we know AW is 5'3" - 5'4" (?) so can you guesstimate BG's height from these 2 measurements?
I want to use the height of the wood curb as my starting point. I can adjust for angles based on the orientation of the cross beams. I can extend axis lines and scale based on the curb height to calculate BGs height and estimate weight based on CDC info. I will drive up in the morning to take the measurements i need. I will have this completed and posted by tomorow evening. Thank you for everyone's help.

the stress from anything that happens in life could contribute to other health issues ... we rise above

From that perspective you could be correct, from another perspective, he is an elderly man, who most likely already has some pre-existing health issues. What if the stress of all this causes him to have a stroke or heart attack, or when / if he gets out, to go on a drinking binge and die from it, or to otherwise harm himself in some way. Just some food for thought.

I could drive up there and drive by RL's property to see if LE is still around. I live in a neighboring county. However, I'm too lazy. And it's gray, cold and windy here today. Best to stay at home.

Besides, I'm pretty busy watching the NCAA tournament between checking here at WS. After all, this IS Indiana and we're not known for Hoosier Hysteria for nothing.

(Any one interested in the history of basketball and how it became so enmeshed in the Indiana way of life, here's a pretty entertaining and informative read:

I wouldn't go myself and don't blame you one bit! I am more surprised by the lack of news reporting from the scene...seems odd to me and makes me wonder if LE has put a media blackout... unless I've missed the reporting. Here at my house we will be watching The Iowa State game!

The fact that it's such a large property means someone else could easily access it without RL necessarily knowing. It's not like in the suburbs, where we all have maybe half an acre of fenced in yard...it's easy to assume the homeowner would be responsible if you found something within their tiny fenced in yard, but this is a lot of land we're talking about. I'm not saying he didn't do it, but I can definitely see how someone else could have been on the property.

This is true. However LE is seen in video taken several armloads of potential evidence from inside his house.

O/T Love the movie Hoosiers!

I'm not sure. In the Danielle Stislicki case they served a search warrant a couple times on one property within a month that she went missing. It has now been 3.5 months and no additional warrants that have been made public nor an arrest. They also have not located her body. The person of interest that had his house searched is the only person still being sleuthed and believed to be responsible. He lawyered up in the beginning and no evidence for why the warrant was served has been released publicly.

I say that to say, I'm not so sure this is just grasping at straws or an attempt to solve the case by gathering enough evidence for charges to stick. I've read many cases in which the perp was not arrested for months or longer even when there is high suspicion, searches, etc early on. JMO.

Sometimes it takes years. Many SWs were served in Hailey Dunn's case and here we are 6 and a half years later and no one has been arrested for her murder.

More accurately would be taking the height of the ties next to BG then multiply that measurement to be something like how they measured horses.

Ex: 9 heads high = 9 ties high
How I would go about it.

Thank you for replying! I tried to check the news throughout the day and didn't see any new articles, but usually something breaks if I'm away from WS for too long.

The only thing you missed was people arguing about whether we should or should not sleuth the Property Owner....

Honestly I believe le used this to their advantage to get him out of the way. If there were two guys and they think he was in on it then they are gonna check things out. What does not make sense they searched that area so if the girls were moved why did no one see it. I know it's rural. My understanding His property private. No dog barking? Was he or was he not home when these poor girls were dropped at their final destination?

It's not blasphemy at all! Not everyone living in IN likes b'ball.
Hope you find some interesting things to report back to WS after your trip tomorrow! Good luck!
