What is interesting is the sheriff wants money immediately removed from some of his allocations to help pay for the trial.

I hope they set up a gofundme account to help pay for this trial. LOTS of angry people will make sure their county doesn't go bankrupt to put this killer (or two) in prison.

Where does it say that? I just see a request to pay for overtime?

The whole article seems odd to me.

"But council members also expressed some concerns about how much the investigation, and a possible trial, is going to ultimately cost the county and how officials will pay for it."

I understand these things have to be considered and someone has to mange the financial implications but, really?

I think it just shows how unprepared small towns are in dealing with a crisis that they were not prepared for. Small towns like to budget their money and not get in the red. Excessive amount of snow days can throw off a little town's budget as well.

Why can't they use the reward money?

What happens to all that money if its unclaimed?

Yes, we found it! A lovely poster came by and pointed us in the right direction (sorry I can't recall who) It was the Tippecanoe river in Monticello

I'm not sure where you were, I thought you were here lol

Oh my Lucky Stars I went there! IIRC I dismissed it as the pillars looked round from above and I was looking for more rectangular. Normally I zoom in if possible just to double check (especially because of the wires) but it must have been one of those 3 a.m.-I-refuse-to-give-up-but-I-can-no-longer-see-the-screen kind of nights!! Oh I am so annoyed with myself on that one. Glad LE isn't depending on me to solve this case!!

I started my search in Michigan and worked my way down, following every train track line! Oy!

JMO...
I got the impression he was asking for the money for overtime pay, not the trial.
JMO.

I thought the location where their bodies were located was closed to almost due south of the cemetery. That dot shows it farther east, more south behind RL'S house. I have seen other maps and reports that place it there too. But I think the location nearer to South of the cemetery is closer to where the CS tape was seen. I could be wrong. I'm just going off of memory.
I agree they have it shown too far east on the next loop of the river in error. That's the Daily Fail for you.

Sheriff Tobe Leazenby asked the council to move $4,000 from his ammunition budget and $6,000 from his fuel budget to the overtime pay budget for now.

In all the area photos shown I have never even seen 1 deer has anyone else?
Only the deer in Deer Creek. But I did look at a facebook page for a fishing and hunting shop in Delphi that showed customers with dead deer in the back of their trucks. Probably why not many live ones left maybe?

In the initial presser after the bodies were discovered all three LEOs estimated 1/2-3/4 mile upstream from the bridge. Riley even commented about the road winding and he wasn't sure the distance as the crow flies, is how he put it.

Could that be where the discrepancy is on the map marker?

You did? From France? I knew I liked you, WebSight, for your amazing work with BG's face, but now I know I love you. Thank you for caring about these two beautiful girls.

The immediate $, It is for overtime in his department imo.

" Sheriff Tobe Leazenby asked the council to move $4,000 from his ammunition budget and $6,000 from his fuel budget to the overtime pay budget for now.

The department received $10,000 on Jan. 1 for overtime pay for the entire year, but the investigation of the murders of Abigail Williams and Liberty German had that amount down to about $400, Leazenby said after the specially called council meeting.

Councilman Jamie Rough asked Leazenby if the $10,000 transfer would get everyone paid up to date;"

Watching the video of a family memeber (I'm guessing) crossing the bridge and god it's creepy. I don't think at 13 I would of even considered walking along that bridge.

Also interesting to see where they're would of taken the photo of the creep and where they may of been forced down the hill.

  • #835
If that happened wouldn't the girls have ran to where Abby lived if she lived close to the south end of the bridge? MOO

That would have been very far to go. A few of us waaaay back in the earlier threads, when we realized the photo of BG was taken at the south end, wondered if the girls did try to run maybe to the nearest house at the end of the private drive that goes under the bridge.

Finances come up in every case, after a while...no one has big budgets and the cost is a factor that has to be discussed and addressed. Outrage ensues...but it is still a fact of life.

Darn my emoticons aren't working. Picture two: one giggling and slapping the table, no picture two of those, and three thank you's!!

BTW I am from San Diego!!!!!!!

Is that not odd wording?
Yes. There has to be an arrest before they have a trial though. No arrest, no trial, no bankruptcy.

This is depressing (that a trial would bankrupt the county). I have often wondered who pays for the "new study was conducted for (name your subject)" etc. Some of these studies are off the wall! (how many hairs on a frog's back, etc.)

Here's one for example,
"New Study Conducted at Yale University Concludes that 'Bad Hair Days' Affect More Than Your Appearance."

Who pays for stuff like this (and this is only the tip of the iceburg for these ridiculous studies). And yet, there is no money to conduct a MURDER trial. What is wrong?

I know the feeling. And during those times I have been squinting so long I actually have to physically widen my eyes and force them to stay open.

I finally understand to cartoons showing characters using toothpicks to keep their eyes open!! Tom and Jerry comes to mind.
