The actual quoted paragraph reads:

"Police have released a photograph, snapped by Libby on her cellphone, of a man in blue jeans approaching them on the trail. Investigators are awaiting DNA test lab results being conducted by the FBI to conclusively link that suspect to the murders."

That's not totally accurate as the source of the photo was video.

I would infer this to mean they gave DNA from the scene which doesn't match anyone else they've tested, or the girls, so it's most likely BG's. If my inference is correct, that doesn't give me much optimism.

It is in the eighth paragraph.
thank you! for some reason i kept missing it. I would think if they had any DNA process from the CS some time ago. Could it be DNA results from the search at RL's??

I read that as they have BG DNA and a possible match. Or is it to rule him out?

That would be a turn of events... If BG isn't involved.

Gotta say, the last thread ended up as a train-wreck IMO. We need to stay focused, rational and kind. Don't let the POI/BG manipulate you into improper behavior or into overstepping the TOS.

WS is a wonderful place, where the victims are given a voice. It is also a place of hope for families and friends. It is therefore a peaceful place. This does not just happen. It is hard work on behalf of the owner and staff. It means commitment and sacrifice - daily. Be part of the solution, not part of the problem.

I will continue supporting WS in any way I can. I am proud to be here. Are you?

Best,
Nin

I took it as, they DO have a suspect, they are hoping the DNA confirms their suspicions...Maybe I'm wishful thinking again.

That's exactly how it struck me, too.

I'm wondering...is this a major piece of information or did the journalist simply use a bad choice of words and meant something different?

To me, that wording says they've got a suspect and are just waiting for conclusive DNA results.

It could be poorly written or interpreted. I read it as they know who the BG is. How else can they conclusively link the BG to the murders? They can't know that the DNA definitely came from the BG unless they know who he is. JMO

What am I missing?

Military maneuvers are planned and executed this way all the time. Hunters that travel to hunt do the same. That's the lense I see this type of predator through. Professional hunter.

Respectfully BBM, I'm very familiar with all aspects surrounding hunting and there's not one thing that stands out or points to a Professional Hunter to me. MOO

I'm going with poorly written. It is buried in the article, not like it is new info. moo

I think the reporter may be overstating the DNA testing. My bet is they are waiting for DNA results with the HOPE of it pointing to a suspect.

But I hope I am wrong. I hope they've got him.

I have my doubts it means anything much. Aside from the inaccurate reference to the "photograph", such a bombshell should be headline news. Instead it's hidden in an article about RL's probation violation trial. That no one is quoted is another strike against it.

I just want to say one thing that I have not read multiple times. It is important to realize just why RL was on probation - his original probation should have ended months ago, but he violated it, and the courts gave him yet another chance by not incarcerating him, and just extending the terms of his probation. So you all see, not only has he been convicted of multiple DUIs, he has also violated his proabation multiple times. I think the courts ran out of chances (or f's) to give...

You are correct and I think that is why the judge asked him this question and he gave that answer.
When asked about his future, Logan told the judge, “maybe in the future someone won’t be murdered in my back yard.”
I think maybe the judge was hoping for an answer closer to. "In the future I will abide by the law and will have learned from my mistakes."

Waiting for DNA?

Where it said " to conclusively link that suspect". So yes the DNA but also did that mean something else like they know who BG is. Pardon my confusion with the statement I don't know if I'm reading to deep into nothing or something if that makes sense.

Good Morning. Let today be the day to bring new info to capture BG.

  • #119
Wait. How can DNA results link an unidentified man in a picture to anything?

Police have released a photograph, snapped by Libby on her cellphone, of a younger man in blue jeans approaching them on the trail. Investigators are awaiting DNA test lab results being conducted by the FBI to conclusively link that suspect to the murders.

Maybe it's just EVIDENCE, not necessarily DNA? Maybe some portion of the outfit that BG is wearing was found at the scene? Just a thought.

IF we knew the photo had been scrubbed to erase an AR on his right, and IF he didn't have on the windbreaker and we saw a vest holstering multiple weapons and clips would that change your mind? Or is it more about his posture, head down, etc that makes you think he's not a hunter? (If ifs and buts...)
