Another question I have is

How does LE know that there had already been altercation before Libby had taken that video of BG ?

ETA- I apologise in advance is this was discussed early on in here

Has LE stated that?

About the SW for RL: In the Missy Bevers case, a fellow sluether was able to get the SW (legally) There was one that was sealed with a time limit of 6 months I think and he got that too. Lots of great info. But that is TX. Maybe things are different here?

That's true , the logical step would of been to split up if there was only one person after them. But we know from LE there loyalty and love for each other meant they both lost there lives so I'm guessing there was a chance for one them to get away.

How would even one girl get away running into the woods from an adult male who likely had a weapon?

If you don't mind me asking, then, why do you subscribe to the theory?

The only reason I could see someone risking returning to the scene is if this was some sort of revenge killing and they wanted them to be found to send a message/enact revenge or to frame someone. And I can't find any evidence to support those yet so I don't think they were moved.

I've always subscribed to two perps, and a moblie crime scence. Sort of in a Robert Rhoades senerio. Tho without a C.O.D. it is even hard to even speculate.

One theory is as good as another at this point, who knows.

LE did say she began recording just before criminal activity happened...

I assume they know this from watching the video.

But perhaps some criminal activity had already occurred prior to the phone being turned on too...

I think we should try to explore all different possible timelines.

I've been screaming about that for weeks. What the hell were they thinking? moo

Honestly I'm not totally convinced there were any other arrests made, as I'm pretty sure media would have been all over it weather they were related or not. I personally think LE was referring to RL when they made the general statement and were hoping to keep people from jumping to conclusions about RL. Just my two cents

I think it's relevant bc some people were wondering if the problems police had with alibis referred to this Lafayette trip or the omission of the transfer station trip...or if there could be other holes that haven't been made public yet.

Leazenby said RL wasn't being completely honest with some of the things he said but those things didn't necessarily cause LE to look deeper into him as far as the murders. "He was actually violating his probation by those statements."

That leads me to believe (MOO) that his alibi still held up, even though he changed it up a bit.

Thanks. When you say "but those things didn't necessarily cause LE to look deeper into him as far as the murders," is that what LE said or is that what your opinion is?

In my mind, an untruthful alibi statement *could* potentially both violate probation (for ex, mentions driving when license is suspended) AND cause then to look deeper into the murder (say, get a PC SW).

ETA: Frosted Glass added the link a few comments down. Very helpful. Thanks.

Has LE stated that?

I just had to find the quote for you - this was in a interview yesterday somebody posted from LE. I only posted the quote not the link but somebody else may have it

Libby began recording when she felt nervous during an encounter with the man

Good point. I might be mistaken I Just have MP saying about the phone pings before LE said about the phones, in the timeline in my head, if that makes sense.

Nvm rambling! I'm just glad Bird Of Paradise found the quote and I've not gone cuckoo :)

http://nchouse25.com/house-passes-kelsey-smith-act/

I know I've heard of LE being able to leapfrog over normal procedure if they have reason to believe the person is endangered.

Maybe I'll ask an agent I know to see if he can clarify. I don't mean specifically in this case because he's not involved and I wouldn't ask him if he was. Even after several drinks the guy can keep a secret, alas.

One kid has escaped in other abductions--sometimes bc the perp is targeting only one of the kids, sometimes because the first one puts up a fight and consumes the perp for a second, sometimes bc the struggle bc loud enough and the risk of drawing attention is too great to chase down a second kid while leaving the first behind...

Well, ok. I'm not willing to say so because I truly do not know that
for a fact. If it IS true, yes, that is a whole different scenario. The photographer may well be correct but until I hear it from police, there was no sexual assault nor were they
found naked.

Wayyyy behind, as usual. I'm sure someone suggested this by now, but have you read any of the Scanner Thread for this case yet?

Did he specifically say his alibi statement did NOT cause him to look further into the murder?

Here is the quote:

"Basically, he apparently said some things that didn't necessarily cause the focus to go further into him, with regard to the larger investigation, but it was found that he wasn't being completely honest in those statements," Leazenby said. "He was actually violating his probation by those statements."

The link has more info but it's a pdf and I can't cut/paste it.

Just my opinion, but especially if he was older (which we cant really tell from photo or audio) id think a young girl could outrun him. Although I know nothing of her health, agility etc., so maybe not. I can understand if he had a weapon they would want to comply out of fear, and i'm not familiar with the area... is that bridge hard to run on? Maybe they had nowhere to run

Wonder if this could be why FBI was on the scene on the morning of the 14th? Maybe, as others have speculated, LE was able to get the video from LG's cell provider late in the night on the 13th? There has to be some reason why FBI was there as quickly as they were, IMO.
I think perhaps the depravity involved and a recurring pattern in both the assault and the C.O.D. lead to such a prompt reply.

IMO it was the complexity of the crime scene. I think Sheriff Leazenby and the ISP may have requested FBI crime scene techs. If that's the case, I commend state and local LE for putting solving the murders above ego or turf wars.

FBI takes over for Delphi call center in double murder investigation

http://fox59.com/2017/02/23/fbi-takes-over-for-delphi-call-center-in-double-murder-investigation/

DELPHI, Ind. – Indiana State Police say the FBI has taken over for the Delphi call center in the double murder investigation of 14-year-old Liberty German and 13-year-old Abigail Williams.

If i am not mistaken the fbi can take over any crime from local LE. Jmo
