So to me it sounds like they have already had a encounter hence her then started to record him.

he grainy photo was taken from a video clip that Libby recorded on her phone the day the girls disappeared. Police say Libby began recording when she felt nervous during an encounter with the man.

I don't see it that way. First encounter was the BG video...imho.

I understand and wasn't suggesting that you personally judge them. I think as you said, something prevented them from fleeing or doing anything to turn the tables, and it's just a horrible outcome. I really wonder at what point he truly had them under control from when we see him on the bridge to when that command was given.

Agreed. I picture them being trapped between him w/ a weapon and a wooded hill they would have to try to scale quickly...or being trapped between him and the water.

No we don't have to agree - somebody else posted this from a early interview with LE but they didn't have the link. Just the quotes they saved at the time.

To have the wherewithall when you're ... she probably was just as afraid as all get out, I can't imagine how scared she would have been at that time

That was in relation to her feeling threatened and her taking a photo. So again it leads me to believe something happened before she took the photo. As I why else would she of been so afraid ?

Thanks for finding it. So nice that we can disagree politely.

My interpretation is that whatever caused the fear occurred immediately before she taped BG. In my mind, literally seconds before. Just my opinion.

Wow, way to negate the hours and hours of hard work by the scanner people. :facepalm:

I do think the scanner content is relevant personally. Although obviously we still have a lot of blanks to fill in that are anybody's guess.

Without their [scanner transcribers] work, it would take several hours for each interested person to listen to the tapes.

The comment was directed, in my opinion, towards the interpretations.

We all can come to different conclusions.

And if I understand correctly, they were moving toward the south end of the bridge (Abby facing south, Libby facing north to snap her photo) and it's theorized that BG came onto the bridge from that south end? If that's the case, I think he passed them intentionally for the purpose of turning around and trapping them, so I wonder if his abrupt turn after having just walked by was what alerted Libby. They may also have already been creeped out by the fact that he was even there.

I think no matter how he appeared in dress, there is just a vibe from someone like that and just being in that space with him would be unnerving. Just a guess.

It may be but there are also a lot of assumptions being made without any supporting validation from LE. That's a large and open area so anyone could be responsible who was in the area for weeks or months or days prior to the murders.

It's also funny to me, as in laughable, the amount of projection going on. Ignore really is your friend unless it's your goal to be obnoxious and not allow others to have opinions who did it and how that don't align with your own. IMO

Perhaps they had been to the cemetery to snap some cool pictures prior to walking the bridge. Has there been vandalism at the cemetery? Could the caretaker of the cemetery reached them on the bridge to give him a piece of his mind?
Goodness, my mind is trying so hard to solve this.

And, if I imagine RL as being BG, this is almost exactly the way I imagine it might have happened, as well.My problem is that A)I don't think RL is BG, and B) the "down the hill" sounds very calm, to me. Not panicked, not enraged. Just matter-of-fact, and assured.

Of course , let's be honest none of us can even agree on BG and if he has a hat , age range , hair , fat or thin and so on.

It's all open to interpretation

The fact is people take unlikely steps to carry out sick and tragic plans outside of our imagination every day.

I know this wasn't directed to me, but I've gone over to the scanner thread, and have no idea how to find ANYTHING there. All I've seen is comment after comment with no information of any substance at all. What am I missing? Do I need to know the secret handshake, or what?

The purpose of the Scanner Thread is for those who listen to police, EMT, Fire, radio frequency channels to relay what is relevant happening in the area at the time. It is NOT meant to be a discussion thread at all. Simply informative. Most important - the link to the private Scanner thread can be linked here, HOWEVER, the info may not be brought up to this public thread. What's released in the Scanner thread, stays in the Scanner thread. There are a number of reasons for that. An important one is because even if accurate and actually case related, there may be communication released via radio that LE would not want published in a public format. #1 priority is always to protect the integrity of the investigation.

There seems to be a lot of jumping to conclusions based on things that very well may have zero connection to these murders, IMO.

As I said above, it is not meant to be a discussion thread. Simply for information purposes. Usually discussed in real time, however my understanding is this one has a "playback" option. I will go down there and take a look at what is going on.

I wonder with all the search warrants executed by LE if any were in any other states. If so this could indicate a SK. The fact that the billboards were placed in 46 states is telling also .

IMO with what has been made public there is absolutely no way to figure any of this out. The still from the video gives us nothing of value, there is no way to tell who that is, the audio with the way they looped it is just useless, and all of the parading of RL is just way too distracting.
