This makes sense.

How does this work, logistically, with where they would have been ambushed and where they were found?

Just a guess... but down about where the bridge ends (it extended into the forest for probably 100 yards at least). At that point, the elevation of the land is equal to the elevation of the railroad trestle.. So it would be the end of the trestle on the north side of the trail in that wooded area south of the creek.

If the outline in the pocket is a gun, it's not a small handgun. It looks a lot like a Desert Eagle and not your typical conceal carry. It also appears to have been placed into the pocket by the barrel (handle in first) which doesn't make sense.
That's what I said! He'd grab it out by the butt, not the handle.

Not the butt....where the bullet comes out. Gah. I need to study hand guns, apparently.

Please please forgive the intrusion, but I promise I looked around and even googled first. What do BBM and RSBM mean? I'm fairly new here. 😁 TIA!

This works with both theories regarding whether they were killed where they were found or killed elsewhere and moved (one way or another) to where they were found.

How do people here get their minds to move on from an idea (or a person) you get stuck on, but is almost certainly unrelated? I keep trying to find something to convince me that a certain man is not involved, but my sleuthing skills are not likely on par with many here. I started with a man in a video who was from the area, and was at the bridge. I thought he might be the same general build/type as the man in the stills. His account was a first name and last initial, so I did a search for that in the general area.

What I eventually came up with is a man with the same first name and a last name with the same initial who works in Delphi as a teacher. I can't find a picture of him, so I have no idea if it's the same guy and I've found nothing saying he's done anything inappropriate in the past. What I'm wondering is, would the experienced seuthers here assume it was off track, or would you continue to look for pictures or something else tying him to the girls?

TIA

Can you give us a hint as to which video he was in and where we can find it?

LEOs are still at the crime scene this afternoon and their bank of lights are still behind the cemetery where they found the girls. From the drop off point to the cemetery it is .4 miles by road. There is a trail from the north side of the bridge heading towards the crime scene, but after about 40 yards there is a drop off pretty much straight down to the water. There are beer cans along the trail not to far from the bridge. Leaving the scene would require one to either walk the road or to follow the edge of the field just inside the woods. The picture of the girl on the bridge shows her walking away from the side on which they were killed. The picture of the guy does not show blood which would have been present after he killed and fought with them. I would not be thinking a gun was used based on information available.

I figured the trail would be pretty busy today (and it was) so I parked in town and walked from the city park. It is 1.5 miles to high bridge and about 2 miles from the crime scene. If the guy was watching them and was parked at the drop off point he could have drove to the cemetery and watch/ambushed them from the top of the ridge. If the guy is experienced as many of you believe the above would allow easy capture and escape.

Thanks for your post.RSBM:curtsey::tyou:

Until they arrest the perp then anyone who was admittedly at the bridge that day would be a POI in my book until proven otherwise.

I was so surprised that I saw where there was at least 4 other people at the bridge right around the time the girls were killed.

I posted the link a few posts ago and dont have it handy. The article was interviewing a girl who was at the bridge that day and she saw 3 other people beside herself.

Does anyone know how these girls died? Was there sexual assault on both girls.I'm trying to figure out the motive.
Well, that's an excellent question.

No details regarding sexual assault.

Motive not released.

Of note, however, LE indicated they were murdered because of the way they were found. (No further details)

Tight lipped.

We need a presser.

Watching that ABC video showing the creek behind the roped-off crime scene woods.... I don't think the girls would have gone across that creek but as a last resort.
The water temperature would probably be in the mid to upper 30's at best. Going in the water would have to a last resort.

No offense(and I truly mean that I know people don't when they say that LOL), but my husband is 45 and this guy does not look the same age.

I truly don't mean to be offensive when I say that, but I know we all look at people and have a different perspective based on age, but me at 43 and my hubby at 45- this guy looks much older to me. Even if he turns out to be younger I will be surprised because of how old he looks to me. I feel bad because people are saying it's the look for typical 40 year old guy in that area-I trust you all in the area to know what you are talking about.

Oh and my hubby and I don't consider ourselves trendy or anything like that, but maybe it's the clothes?

ETA- really no reason to post this other than I'm all talked out tonight about the photo.

I'd rather not since I don't want him to be falsely accused. I finally found a picture of the teacher and it wasn't the same person, so I'm continuing my search. I will post it if I find any likely connection to the girls.

Wow... 150-ish Guests ! Feel free to join us ... the water's fine (I promise !) . (wish there was a smiley for that :) )

Of much greater interest to me than the funeral or condition of the poor girls at this time... I want to know why LE have declared the bridge photo guy (for the lack of a better term) a suspect ??

Why ?
Does he appear at all in any other footage that day ? And if so, could LE produce it ?
Would like some updates.

Especially since this perp is still roaming around, free as a bird.
:gaah: _ :tantrum:

With only a vague photo and generic appearance --some innocent people could be harassed or blamed.
Just saying.
And my .02.

Does Mr. L, property owner, have barbed wire or other fencing around his property? How would a walker/hiker know if they were on private property, if there was no fence. If suspect knew the area, he was bold and not concerned that Mr. L could have checked his property that afternoon. moo

Or he was familiar with Mr. L's habits, daily life and schedule.

I'm wondering has there been any other victims like this before this time in that state or other surrounding states probably around in the last 6 months?Maybe at other parks and recreation areas.

Thank you. In the photo the bridge doesn't seem to be very far off of the ground. How high is the bridge if you know?

I have walked old bridges that were high up where the wood was bleached from age and some of the boards were rotten but I never was afraid walking across them. I never had to balance myself with my hands/arms though.

If the bridge was unsafe wouldn't they close it to visitors? Do you know if there are any warnings signs before approaching the bridge. The reason I asked the bridge does look aged and old but it doesnt look unsafe to me.

If someone fell off this bridge how far would they fall? TIA

"At 63 feet above Deer Creek, it is believed to be Indiana’s second highest bridge after the Tulip Trestle near Bloomfield in northeastern Greene County."
