I have so many questions and I can't ask them because of TOS.
There is a huge gap between who dropped them off and RL.
Why has it all been kept quiet.

My guess is because that person has no connection to solving the crime that occurred on the trail, therefore they have a right to privacy.

Considering the wild theories that are tossed around on SM, it's not a stretch to think what comes next if LE had released more details.

Good point, we don't know anything about their later plans.

And to other comments, why didn't Abby walk home. Because she stayed the previous night at Libby's, she likely took an overnight bag that was left there. So it's possible that whoever was picking them up planned to collect Abby's overnight bag prior to bringing her home.

Whether the two walked the rural roads on other occasions, we just don't know. It's a matter of speculation this was even an option and I'm a little sceptical that it was. That it was considered safe for two young teens to walk a public trail doesn't necessarily translate into two young teens being allowed to walk along the side of a rural road very close to a major highway, the possible risk being getting hit by a crazy driver. MOO

Yeah, that's true.

According to a recent interview, she had her overnight bag and a huge container of arts and craft supplies that she had brought over. I think I remember reading that they were painting nature scenes the night before. They made plans to go to the park to take pictures (probably to use as a model for their paintings) :(

They likely weren't planning on going over to Abby's house after the park, but were planning to go back to Libby's.

Also, I just had another thought as to why they wouldn't just run to Abby's house away from BG. For starters, it's about a mile away. Second, was anyone even home at Abby's house? Anna, her mother, works several jobs and I'm pretty sure it's on a rural street. Were any neighbors home? At that time of day, everyone would still be at work. I believe they ran to get back to the more populated side of the bridge. Perhaps they saw a few people earlier in their hike that they thought would be able to save them. Just a few thoughts...

I'm going to add my 2cents here because I honestly feel this entire 'pristine' thing has been taken out of context.
RL would most definitely know what his own land looks like. He stated in an interview that his son and his friends used to "play back there" when they were young. He said he never thought of it as being a dangerous area.

My take is that he is referring to the fact that considering two young girls were just found murdered on his property, his property still looks as it did before. IOW you can't tell anything happened. I know I would be expecting the after to look a mess--with the amount of LE, emergency, crime scene techs, etc. I would probably be thinking it's hard to believe anything horrible happened here because it looks so calm and beautiful, just the way it has for the last 53 years.

^^^^^ THIS. Thank you.

So if it was her backyard, why were they driven there and dropped off? Were you driven to your backyard? I don't get that part of it.
Maybe family member going out anyway simply dropped them off...or they all went somewhere first and girls were then dropped off...

That could certainly apply. I took it in a different context, however your explanation makes a lot of sense too.

I agree.."pristine" to him probably means "same as always".. I doubt he's the wordsmith

I thought they had spent the night at Libby's house. Libby lives quite a distance from the bridge. My assumption is they were dropped to hang out and were either to be picked up at/near same spot or at Abby's. I can see LE not revealing the second option. Has family or anyone official ever said anything other than a "predetermined location" for pickup?

Can someone tell me if I am crazy please? Now, we know it is a stated fact that Abby stayed the night at Libby's...but there seems to be some confusion on the "day off school". Almost every post I see, its stated they had the whole day off and that it was preplanned. But I SWEAR that I read/heard/saw on some other news reports that it was actually a HALF DAY, and that they got out of school around 12 noon??? Which is it?? Am I the only one who saw that? And if this is true, how much difference does that make into the whole thing? And do we know if they walked to school, rode the bus or were driven daily or what? And was the way home that particular day deviated from the normal mode because of this? if so, how did it differ and what other people did they encounter during that time that they normally would not have? And yes I am searching for a link right now, trying to find those reports I saw it was a half day, but if anyone else knows or has the link handy already please, by all means, help me save my sanity faster! Also, if it was indeed a half day, where did they go directly after school....to who's house first? Libby's? Did they go anywhere in between (stop at a gas station if they were picked up by a relative in a car at noon? did they encounter a worker on lunch break buying a gas station ham sandwich that was a monster? Did LE go through all surveillance cams by now, I hope? )

I can answer one question. It was a full day off. Actually, they were off all day Friday and all day Monday.

thank you. I still would like more proof though, as my own kid's school calendar is often wrong! Im currently staring at the one on my desk now that has my kids last day of school incorrect even lol. I still swear i heard it on an interview that it was a half day....
I've followed from the beginning and don't recall any mention of a half day. It has been said from day one that they were off school that Fri and Mon. Jmo.

Good luck but the subject of snow days has been discussed several times on these boards and no one had presented evidence the calendar is incorrect. moo

There is one article that says RL said they were off 3 days (Thur, Fri and Mon). Lots of bad info early on that never got corrected.

I, too, def remember the half day remarks but I think it was later determined to be a full day off. U r not crazy ( at least not that I know of ... LOL) Yes I wonder if they normally took bus or were driven to and from school? Anyone know with certainty about that? Could lead to clues such as if someone noticed them at bus stop in days prior and/or overheard them making plans etc. At bus stops here in NH parents/grands/older sibs always stay in attendance with the kids until the bus arrives. Any locals out there that might actually know girls' school transport norms??? ((Also, K Noonan was it U went to docs office and "almost" got a scoop? Can't you go back? We'll cover your co-pay! (I DO hope WHOEV that was is feeling better, but you left us wondering...)) No follow-up???

Feel confident this Winter Break is accurate.

I remember the calendar with the 4 day weekend and discussion of possibility that BG also had seen the calendar or else saw a message on the school sign itself.
So I wondered if he had gone there other days before Monday to look for teens.

Liberty, who was called Libby, and Abigail, known as Abby, were both eighth-grade students at Delphi Community Middle School. They were on the last day of a four-day winter break when they left on a hiking trip onMonday, Feb. 13 , the superintendent of Delphi’s schools,

Gregory G. Briles, said in an interview on Thursday.

Four day weekend per the Superintendent. moo

Finally catching up today after some longggg days of craziness.

I was so hoping to come here and find something new...anything, FGS!

I do not believe this case is cold but it sure is frustrating. It's gonna drive me to :drink: pretty soon.

Have a great day, all!

May today be THE day.

:peace:
The only significant item is that Indiana is going to adopt the procedure whereby dna is taken on arrest for any felony and it is being brought forward from 2018 to 1 July 2017. It is thought it could help this case. Hopefully someone else will post the link.
Oh yeah and I forgot, we debated leaves and pristine for 24 hours.

Again, I don't know what you mean. We know who dropped them off and what is this "gap" and RL that you're on about?

Somewhere it's written RL house is 1/2 to 3/4rs of a mile away from the discovery sight. The barn is across the road from his place. For what reason might someone commit a homicide and then carry the bodies through ravines and rough terrain to a secondary location, to ensure the victims would be discovered sooner? That just seems very unlikely to me, especially if the perp had access to a vehicle and could have driven them anywhere where they might still be undiscovered.

In my opinion it was a matter of due diligence for LE to thoroughly search everything in the immediate area and no doubt questionable alibis formed the basis. But because they did, at this point in time it's not indicative that a connection to the actual homicide was ever established.

The only reason to take the girls to a second location would be for time and privacy IMO. Whether that happened or not, I don't know but there seems to have been time and opportunity enough.
Also, why the 12 search warrants on various premises if there was no second location?
