Yes and that is how it normally works. With this sketch they seem completely confident it is the suspect. Not a POI or any hedging about it. I am convinced there is a reason for their confidence that goes beyond where he was seen or when.

When they released pictures of BG they had a reason to be so confident since the pictures (video) came from a victim's phone along with voice and more to show he was the guy or at least one if more were involved. To me they seem to have as much confidence the man portrayed in the sketch is THE one. I am just wondering where that confidence is coming from, since eye witnesses are not known as reliable to LE. I feel sure there is more to this than meets the eye.

Just catching up here after work...

Could it be that he purchased the clothing or other items at a store such as Walmart and the witness is the cash register girl. Could be a reason for her to be afraid as he knows where she works and knows she knows who he is. Along that train of thought, could LE be so confident because the looked back at what was purchased and confirmed it is indeed him?

All just my speculation.

This is a *really* good sketch. I have no doubt whatsoever that this will result in an arrest. Well done LE.

Question for the locals. What types of occupations wear flatcaps routinely? Where I live, only golfers wear them. I know Beckham turned them in to a fashion statement, but this guy doesn't appear trendy. I find the use of a flatcap vs. ballcap interesting.

Regardless, get ready....justice is close at hand.

I'm so glad they were able to create a sketch from the grainy photo that was originally released. My feeling is that it was someone local/someone who had been local to the area at one time, and if that's true, someone knows who this is. I hope the girls' families can get some closure soon.

Flatcap vs ballcap is an interesting question. I know people who wear flatcaps, but only because they like the way it looks. I can't think of a profession or any specific reason why someone would wear one over a ballcap.

I think they can only do a lineup with volunteers and
people who are incarcerated. But I'm not sure how it works.

LE can use anyone they want for physical lineups. They don't have to be incarcerated.

REDDISH BROWN HAIR. Isn't that right? That would narrow it down quite a bit.

Just a couple of passing thoughts on the sketch. It's possible that they did get a parabon picture done and then had the witness/es correct anything that may have seemed off. That could explain part of the time it's taken. Another thought (less promising) is that the witness/es may have seen pictures people say are plastered all over SM and subconsciously blended some of the features of one or more with the memory of the man who was seen. That could explain why it looks so much like one or more of them. Whether or not either is true, I really hope enough of the actual suspect is in the sketch to end his lucky streak. MOO

I wonder what the laws are for using employment file photos. Would an employer allow LE to look through their photos?

I assume LE has access to driver's licenses, passports, green cards, etc. photos.

Why didn't LE release a color sketch?

less distraction would be my guess

the new witness saw someone 60miles NW of indianapolis..delphi is 70 miles north and slightly west of indianapolis so by my reconing I'd say 40 miles south/west of delphi..ballpark around attica IN. That is a long way to connect the dots

The woman witness saw him by the trails. Obviously someone got the mileage wrong.

They didn't make the sketch from the photo. They made it from witness recollections.

But I think they either have to be volunteers or incarcerated/under arrest. I mean it would seem like a due process violation to haul someone in off the street against their will.

Good question. I bet if they have access they can use them. Hmm.

I'd imagine it depends on how co-operative the business is some may insist on a warrant.

no, a news article quoting LE said the description came from someone 70 miles NW of indiana. The woman you mention is different.

Edit: I posted a slight correction post #798

We have a photo.

We have a voice.

We have a detailed rendering (i.e. sketch).

We have a reward upwards of a quarter of a million dollars.

If this monster is not identified and arrested in the coming days or weeks then I will sadly lose all confidence that he will ever be. I'm aware of the unfortunate fact that cases go cold all the time but I'm not sure that one with this many compelling clues ever has. It seems unprecedented and I can't for the life of me understand why he has not already been named. Even if BG is a recluse and transient at this stage in his life, I'm fairly certain that he has or once had family members (immediate or extended), co-workers, friends, sexual partners, high school acquaintances, etc. at some point.

I mean, we all have past ties. Why would he be any different? Why is a (presumed) eyewitness the only person to come forward when the suspect, simply by virtue of being a human being in the Western world during the 21st century, has had contact with other people, even if limited. (Unless he was raised by wolves, which at this point is the only explanation I can come up with that out of 320 million people in the USA, not one has yet to say, "I know this guy.")

(One more thing - whoever he is, I seriously doubt he's on FB. And if he is, he probably doesn't use a profile pic of himself or have any selfies posted. Why do we keep thinking we can find him in this manner?)

It's been running through my head... even if LE provided a detailed color photo, listing exact height/weight, as well as eye and hair color, and added "he answers to the name, BG". Is it possible he could still remain unidentified??

It's likely I'm just in a pessimistic mood... or am I ??
