So, I will ask again. Does anyone recall reading anywhere in MSM that the girls saw and waved to friends on the trail/bridge?
Anyone? Anyone?
Definitely, definitely, definitely not.

Yes, Though it doesn't exactly say that Abby and Libby saw the friends. So, I will ask again. Does anyone recall reading anywhere in MSM that the girls saw and waved to friends on the trail/bridge?

"Chasity was not on the trail with the girls Monday after noon, but other friends were. They talked about a man they saw.
"They said that they had said, 'Hi' and he, like, just brushed them off and kept going," Chasity said.
The teens said the man seemed out of place, though Chasity says that "could just be a rumor."
The children described the man wearing all black. Meanwhile, police continue their search for a man dressed differently.

So this girl's friends were there [on the trail with the girls] and they told the friend they said "Hi" to some guy.. She even says it could be a rumor. IMO take it with a grain of salt. It's 3rd person, never been reported again but has been discussed here often.
BTW I found it by googling again.
That is what LE have recently said. You are right that this means they did not know him and werent expecting anyone AFAICS. I think it also rules out that he had a vehicle parked at the South end on the private road. I think this is important to note. Of course there could be an accomplice in a car but I don't think that is the case either as I think the girls would have noticed that too and found a way to record it
So someone they didnt know who made them uncomfortable . This could therefore only be a serial killer, a maniac or a revenge/professional killer IMO. We can now rule out any theories involving catfishing, someone they knew or use of a vehicle and a second accomplice or CS based on this new LE info. AJMO but based on LE facts.
Thank you for googling for me. When I'm short on time, I post and go.

I hate the fact that I so often see things totally differently than most people around me. When I read that, I thought she was just saying him looking out of place could just be a rumor, while most other people seem to think that even seeing the man could be just a rumor. I also remember reading (most likely in the first thread) that the friends said they had waved at the girls, but don't remember if the girls were said to have waved back. Either way, I've never seen any confirmation from LE so I do take that as rumor. This information is what I thought was the reason they were asking about a backpack/duffle bag; if BG was also the "man in black" the friends said they had seen, they may have been hoping someone had found some of his clothes that he had disposed of.Yes, Though it doesn't exactly say that Abby and Libby saw the friends.

I recall that being mentioned after the latest update, however I cannot recall how exactly. If I find something I will post. Just thought I should mention it.BBM;
I have not seen that from any LE source. Can you link it for us?
TIA
This is where I saw someone mentioning of a man following from page 2 this very thread.Police say they have played more audio from Libby German's cell phone for the victims' families. The recording contains "stuff girls talk about," but police say the girls also talk about a man who is behind them.
Monday marks six months since the girls' bodies were found in a wooded area near the Delphi trails where they were last seen.

[FONT="]"I told the detective, he said it looked an awful lot like the guy he used to work with," she said. "He said he knew back then that guy had a house back in this area and he said he knew he was still around."

The article also goes into checking the parking lots for the trail...
It's unclear if those lots were checked the day of the disappearance. Probably not, because no one thought the girls had been harmed.
It would be easy for a grown man to get two teens to do what he says. Show them a badge...I'm not saying he is LE, just that they likely would've taken direction from someone they thought was a deputy or cop.

ETA to add found it:

DELPHI, Ind. (WTHR) - State police say more audio from Libby German's cell phone was played for the victims' families, including a mention of a man they noticed behind them.
Police say the girls mostly talk about "stuff girls talk about" in the recording, but they also mention the man. The only audio that has been released to the public from the phone is that of a man's voice ordering German and her friend, Abby Williams, "down the hill."
Thanks because when I followed that link it was just a news FB page for me.Wow. Thank you! Here is the Main Website version - easier to navigate;

“It does not appear to be anything more than some discussion between the girls. We have only released a portion of it. There are some others we think could help us but again protecting the integrity of the investigation is key so we cannot release everything because there are certain people that know the details and if we release it all then we get into false confessions,” said Sgt. Holeman.

Found with the girls at the crime scene. _ guess I missed that too.
I find it interesting that the woman in the article says something about "hunting pants". I agree this guy is a hunter. Knows the woods, how to maneuver around, etc.
The cold water of the creek is throwing me off. I understand him crossing the creek to get to a specific destination, and/or to throw off a scent for the dogs. (A hunter would know that too). But I can't see him staying wet and cold that long. It was in the low 40's that day I believe, per my google search. Although it makes sense that he went to a warmer location, I keep struggling with this, because I don't see him transporting the girls back. Too difficult in that brush, and more risk of detection. However, the remains would indicate if that was what happened.
Obviously thinking aloud....on one hand this Perp seems like a skilled woodsman/hunter. But on the other hand, he made mistakes that will hopefully secure an arrest; captured on video/audio, and a boot print. There is probably more, but only LE knows.
I keep thinking he is ex-military, but then again, he would have prints on file. Arrrghhh...where am I going with this? Here's what I'm trying to piece together:
1. Online predator; lured these girls to the destination, had the attack well planned
2. Not his first attack, but this may be an escalation. Other attacks where girls have survived should be carefully scrutinized. He probably has attacked/abused young women in his extended family for years
3. Hunter
4. Familiar with the area; lived in Delphi (or surrounding area) at one point. May work in forestry, or maintain trails (or did)
5. Identify boot manufacturer by print
6. Might work in a capacity where he can be around young girls such as coach, teacher, etc.
7. His family knows, but is protecting him
8. Worked for, and has loose connection to one of the families; had exposure to girls at some point
This is a tough one for sure
SO, I'm catching up on what are "new" details to me. The phone was found with the girls! That is really mind blowing. Either Libby had it well hidden (that clever girl), or he didn't care a bit about the phone? The latter would just twist my brain to no end. Back to my thinking chair on that one...
