I remember that. OK... so the Journal and Courier has a good online article, where Sgt Riley says he anticipates answers about DN's involvement in Abby and Libby's case next week. That they are getting his DNA samples and that they will be matched to evidence collected at the crime scene ( that answers that question, thankfully.) The article also states that Colorado FBI will be questioning DN, but that Indiana FBI might travel there if the need arises. Also Riley says he is a person of interest in the same way anyone would be until they are either cleared or named as a suspect.

Ok so he is a POI until he is cleared or made a suspect. ( a bit like RL then?)
Also his Greenwood arrest was for marijuana and drug paraphernalia plus driving while suspended. He could have been making the marijuana into the more valuable "dabs" and making money like that.

I can't understand what they were living on during these months. What were they eating? How did they buy diapers? How did they do laundry? They had to be getting some money from somewhere but how? Is it possible she was on public assistance that was direct deposited and she had a card to access it from Indiana while in Colorado?
Soup kitchens, homeless shelters, dumpsters for food, homeless/women's shelters, WIC centers for basic necessities (formula/diapers), churches for cash, motel rooms, clothing, gas money, bus tickets etc. Also panhandling, day work, shoplifting etc for cash.

From the article I read, TW had nothing on him to steal. He went out that day with only his bicycle and a camel back.
Because he was an avid biker, he likely had an expensive bike. Was it found or was it pawned?

I believe the bicycle was found along with one of his shoes before his body was located.

I may be missing something here. I believe the pic was taken in the home he was evicted from. Wasn't that long before Feb 13th? Do you think he went back to the home owners and asked for his jacket?

Yes from the home/apartment of the woman he worked for. Do you think she (landowner) kept all that stuff? I think she took the photos for court purposes. Do we know at what point in their case those photos were taken? He could have still been living there and she could have seized the opportunity while he was out to take photos.

I'm betting he or she (wife) got all that stuff back. I don't see the landowner keeping it or tossing it.

This explains why he was dishonorably discharged.

Daniel Nations has been a registered sex offender since 2007 after he was convicted of indecent exposure in Beaufort, South Carolina, that year, the state’s sex offender database shows. According to a WTOC-TV report from the time of his arrest, Nations, then a Marine stationed at Parris Island, exposed himself while he was in his car in a parking lot and then again in front of a woman and her child who were riding bikes.
But police said it was not his first time being arrested for that crime. He was charged with indecent exposure four times while stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina and a fifth time while in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Holy moly........what does a guy/girl have to do to get locked up AWAY from the general public ? How do they know how many times ? Must have been reported and he got a naughty Boy slap on the wrist ? Disgraceful.

Despite being estranged from his only living (elderly) relative, we know that at minimum DN has FB friends, at least one ex-employer, military peers, etc. How did not one of them call him in as the man in the pictures and sketch for the Delphi murders? Granted, not everyone in the country knows about the crimes but surely, there are a fair number of people in his past/present that are aware. Does he present "IRL" that much differently than what we see in the pics/sketch, I wonder?

We know so little. Maybe his name was turned in and somehow got lost in the shuffle. Its sure happened before in other cases and the name was right there in the file the entire time the case went unsolved. A lot of people really do not concentrate on murder cases like we do even the ones that remain unsolved. Plus military units cycle in and out quite often with many going overseas or coming back in or being stationed at another base. Its been many years since he was dishonorably discharged from the Marines.

Just like the person who said they listened to BG talk for the first time once he was arrested in CO and they knew this man. I just don't think most people connect the dots or get as involved as we do here.

And even some here still think DN is not BG so I imagine others may have thought the same even if they even thought of him at all.

was the murder trail and the ax waving trail the same trail?
I wonder why he didn't abscond?

I believe it was either the same trail or a trail very nearby, and he was arrested in his vehicle also in the same area. Perhaps he didn't want to have to explain to his wife why they had to pack up and leave. He also seems very mentally unstable so rational thought may be out the window. Also, we don't know that he knew they had found TW's body.

FYI, I posted that Tim was murdered on the 13th, but someone on the other thread just said he went missing on the 14th, so it's not quite as creepy.

I have been doing some thinking regarding DN's behavior in Colorado. Imagine if you can that you are on the run from Indiana LE and you have brought your family to include very young children to Colorado where you have a car, but no money and no place to stay. One of your children is an infant, formula, baby food, diapers. KN had a job in Indiana so it's possible that she had squirreled away some money they had been living off of ( gas, fast food etc.) That money is running out and soon to be gone. It is the middle of September and it is getting cool at night and will be getting colder, winter is coming. This is a very high stress situation and in MOO is the reason DN began acting out and harassing hikers with his hatchet and maybe even killed poor Mr. Watkins. Imagine you are homeless with your family and running out of food and money very quickly. Now also imagine that you see bikers and hikers out enjoying life, riding expensive bicycles and wearing costly gear. MOO but you would be enraged at what seems to you to be a leisurely lifestyle when you perceive your family to be cold and starving in the woods. DN wouldn't see his circumstances as consequences for the choices he had made, and he would take out his rage at his situation on them. In February it appears as though KN had kicked DN out and he was probably homeless and maybe living at the Monon High Bridge trail with no money and little food and even though it was nice on February 13, it had been cold. Now, here come Abby and Libby enjoying a beautiful day and a little carefree girl time while you ( DN) are literally struggling for your survival. JMO, as always.

This^^^^

I can definitely see rage and frustration coming into play under these circumstances.

IE is a low level sex offense and the penalty nor time to serve is not nearly as severe as someone who rapes or sexually assaults victims.

I believe each of the women reported him when he exposed himself to them. There have probably been many other times but it wasn't reported.

Understood, but we have been under the impression that ISP, the FBI (and DHS if I recall was involved??) knew way more than we did from go. And nothing pointed to this guy?

Don't know if this has been discussed but I would like to know more about DN's 8/16 case for Rules and regulations in Plainfield IN
I believe that was for driving with a suspended DL (Hendricks Co.).

We don't know that.

They probably have a list of people who haven't been ruled in or out, and it's probably at least several dozen names long...considering they have said they have received thousands of names and faces.
