The option wasn't "sure BG is or isn't DN" but was "think BG is or isn't". No one except DN can be sure. Even his wife isn't sure but she sure thinks the sketch looks like him. :frown:

Oh thank you. For a moment I thought this thread had become a self-appointed jury. I didn't want to be present for the virtual execution! Just joking!

so she says.....I question her motives and truthfulness

Indeed it must be a concern of LE especially when a $230,000 reward is involved. Going from homeless, living in a car, a husband of low moral character who's unlikely to provide regular child support in the future......JMO there'd be good reason to question.

The Sun counts (as far as I know) but the problem was it was a journalist's description, not a quote from LE or anyone involved in the case.

ETA: We were searching for what the girls said about BG on video.

Hi Jax!

Same thing I was going to say...
We need a quote from LE or family about “creepy” or any other word being used by the girls to describe BG in the audio on the phone. We can’t just rely on a journalist’s unreferenced commentary. It’s the same as the Inside Edition reporter saying an unnamed source told the reporter the girls’ murder was “the stuff of nightmares” back at the very beginning of the case. Possibly true, but without a substantiated quote, we cannot consider it “fact”.

Agree. Plus, the creepy comment in the Sun was from very early on (Feb, if I remember correctly). Long before LE even told us there was more on the recording. moo

Does anyone know if KN has lawyered up? She hasn't been publicly active online or giving interviews lately afaik.
Personally, if I were in her shoes, I would not want to put myself in the public eye anymore than I had to. And I most certainly wouldn't post pictures of my children, their names and birthdates. Those poor children!

  • #507
Probably not. You aren't appointed a public defender unless and until you're charged. Since she's posted and publicly stated she has no money for a car or job and is losing her children if she cannot find a vehicle, job, and residence, I doubt she has money for a lawyer. Just my opinion.

I've got a question about DN (sorry, but there isn't anyone else to talk about at this point).

Were all the sex charges for exposing himself? Any hint of violent sexual assault?

He doesn't deserve anyone's sympathy even if he is not BG - he has four outstanding Indiana warrants or writs out on him and all the Co.charges too. I remember RL did deserve some sympathy, but this guy, no way.

Tears come to me (ironic!) when I read about the decent man who has an income and would be able to care for his children more than his wife and had a career and some other bonus points ... my goodness. No wonder he walked the streets for so long despite his RSO status and other multiple offenses. :gaah: :tantrum:

http://coloradosprings.com/bond-red...-herman-threats-investigation/article/1614394

Nations is a former Marine who served from 2003 to 2007 and was deployed once to Kuwait, Chu said.

In appealing for a lower bond, Chu said Nations is intent on regaining custody of his children, a 4-year-old girl and an infant boy, who were placed in foster care after his arrest on weapons charges in September.

The children were taken into state custody because the car where the family had been living was seized by authorities, Chu said. She said Katelyn Nations is staying in a homeless shelter and was deemed unable to care for them.

Nations is a trained carpenter who makes up to $20 an hour building houses, Chu said.

Good points. But there are some attorneys that will pro bono for their own publicity, so I was wondering. Her husband is in jail for very serious crimes that have made national news and is considered a POI in multiple murders, and I'm pretty sure LE has had numerous talks with her, her knowledge and possible involvement, plus she has an unusual custody battle looming. (I assume. Is she trying to get her kids back? Idk.)
Why would she lose her children if she can't find a vehicle, job and residence? Many women with children collect welfare and all the other things people do with none of those. I'm pretty sure with state aid she would have a residence. I think she might be losing her children for other reasons, beginning with neglect in numerous ways, and that those children are at risk under her care. She cannot and will not keep them safe imo. I feel so sorry for those children and a lot of it has to do with KN! Past, present and future!

to my knowledge they were all for exposing himself and m'bating in front of others, some (maybe all, not sure) with more than one female present.

Hi everyone! Joined WS back in February after following this case. I live near Delphi and have always been interested in sleuthing. It breaks my heart that we are close to a year without justice for the girls. What do you think are the chances that RL's trip to Lafayette could have been to give DN (or BG) a ride?? I used to feel strongly that RL knew something...And maybe RL let LE know that and thus Colorado...? Just a theory.

If he left for Lafayette after 3 p.m. then I think it is possible. We know he got back at 6.30 p.m. but don't know when he left. That could be why his truck was seized in the search. Does anyone know if LE still have it?

I feel like taking his pants off would be too much trouble. He'd have to remove his shoes, first, and if they're anything like my husband's boots (lace ups and waterproof) you don't just slip them off. Then probably his socks and pants. I think he'd have been too worried about the girls getting a bigger heard start and calling out once they reached the other side.

I agree. I think he would have been wearing pants if he crossed the creek. Pantlessness seems implausible to me. Not sure if his pants were dry or not. MOO, however, if the witness saw BG with obviously wet pants departing , I would think that would have drawn immediate suspicion. Once the police were called and the broader search began that early evening, I would have expected the notion of a "stranger with wet pants" to have caused the search efforts to be focused on the creek rather than the trails, which didn't seem to be the case?

I thought RIP was asking for MSM quotes too? No?

He could have shot them from across the Creek. Then took off his trousers, shoes, socks to wade across to hide the bodies then back to put his dry stuff back on and leave. :cow:

Hi, Daae!

Hope you and your family are still safe from the CA fires!

In Officer Holman’s August interview (long version)he says that BG made both girls were “uncomfortable” and that’s why Libby started recording. It’s close to the end of the interview. That’s the closest reference to “creepy” I have found an MSM/LE/family link to so far.
HTH

Thanks for the interview reference. Things are better with the fire today for the first time in 2 weeks!!! I'm actually optimistic that they are getting a handle on it. Thank you for your concern :)

LE (or anyone else) might not have known at that time that a "stranger with wet pants" had been seen Feb 13th.

Not sure about RIP but I was only interested in MSM quoting LE, which would not have occurred before they shared there was more on the video. moo

ETA: The link to the original statement by LE would be even better.

Good morning and happy Monday folks. I keep checking the local/Indianapolis news since Dr. Phil hoping to see the news that this is the day. Soon I hope!

OT - The last couple of times I've come to read the link to "View First Unread" post is not working and just goes to the end of the thread. I think it may be after posts have been removed but thought I'd ask bc it's kind of a challenge to go try to go find where I was... anyone know?

I'm really getting the feeling that these girls didn't have to die. IDK what he wanted with them but I am really starting to think that something happened (they ran, he heard someone) etc and panicked and they were foolishly killed when it didn't have to be that way. No links, JMO. This makes it even sadder if so.

And IF you are in the DN=BG camp, it seems his level of not wanting to get caught would presumably be higher that day if he had just "made up" with KN and thought she was coming to get him or knew he had weaseled his way back in or was in the process of that. Couldn't have some teenagers running out of the woods and ruining that. JMO MOO IMO.

Also Lana, you might want to look up news about the Bicycle Bridge Road warrant and see if that can be tied into what I believe your theory is. I had the same theory back in the early days but at this point I think they have had ample time to rule it out but you never know I guess. JMO

Apologies for assuming, I noticed the connection to DN living under bridges has been mentioned numerous times.
I think he has an affinity for bridges, woods and trails based on where some of his prior haunts have been.
