IN - Abigail Williams & Liberty German, Delphi, Media, Maps, Timelines NO DISCUSSION #2

2. How strange to be able to walk into any Carroll County courthouse entrance freely with no signs of police, sheriff deputies or security anywhere. Inside the courthouse, security has returned to how it was before the Delphi murders trial. That would be no security at all.

6. My final stop before leaving Delphi after this 4-week trial: where this tragic case began. My producer & I visited the Monon High Bridge.

So quiet.
So beautiful.
So sad.

This crime changed #Delphi.Covering the crime & trial changed me in ways I cannot explain.

Leaving Delphi today with these two brave girls forever in my heart. Libby filmed and Abby helped keep the phone safe. These two alone solved their own murder. Rest in peace Libby and Abby. I will keep working hard in your memory—following truth wherever it leads.

"Today, rejoice that justice has come to the murderer of Abigail 'Abby' Williams and Liberty 'Libby' German. Pray for peace for their family. And never, ever forget them."Kelsi German, Abby's sister, reposted this quote on X following Richard Allen's guilty verdict.

That changed on Sept. 21, 2022.

Kathy Shank, a retired government employee who had started volunteering as a clerk to help with the investigation, came across a "lead sheet" about Allen.

The document seemed to catch Shank's attention. She'd previously read that a girl had reported seeing a man on the trail on the afternoon of Feb. 13, 2017, when Abby and Libby went on a hike and were never heard from again. Allen, according to the document, told police three days after the girls disappeared that he was also on the trail that afternoon.

“Justice has been served for the girls. I want to thank the jurors. I hope they get a chance to see this, that they took time out of their lives…to get to a verdict, and for that, I’m grateful,” Mike Patty says at a press conference following the sentencing of #RichardAllen.

“A form of justice was served, but it does not bring Abby and Libby back,” Tony Liggett says at a press conference following the sentencing of #RichardAllen.

“Any notion of a coverup, any notion of us having decided this…is not correct,” ISP Superintendent Doug Carter says at a press conference following the sentencing of #RichardAllen.
