"In response to a request from Call 6 Investigates' Paris Lewbel, Indiana State Police say it is common for investigators to seek reviews from outside agencies for complex investigations like Delphi.*

"Thank you for your continued interest in the Delphi homicide investigation. While I'm not able to speak directly to your questions, I can share with you that it is common with complex investigations to share information with other police agencies, inclusive of the FBI, who, as you know, has been part of this investigation. Information shared between agencies does become part of the investigation, and, as you know, the state police does not speak to specifics of an active investigation, inclusive of speaking to investigative methods."

"February 2018:

Police initially called Nations a person of interest, but at the start of the new year told FOX59 they were not actively pursuing him as a lead.

The case remains unsolved, but officials in charge of the investigation say it is anything but "cold." They're confident that someone out there has the information needed to connect the dots and solve the case."

Murders of Abby Williams and Libby German in Delphi remain unsolved 1 year later, but case far from ‘cold’

Libby’s dad trying to track them down.

“He got there and nobody was there. He ran into a guy and he was coming from the bridge. He said ‘did you happen to see two girls up there?’ He said ‘no I did not.’ By 4 p.m. it was like ‘oh man,’” said Patty.

Thank you for finding this. From your link:

"“He saw something. He could not figure out what it was. There were two deer standing up there. As he looked up to see what it was, that is when he saw them,” said Libby’s grandma, Becky Patty.

It was a volunteer searcher who discovered the bodies of the Delphi teens, lying in the grass between a group of trees deep in the woods.

“He called his wife who was with us and said we found them. My sister came up and she was crying and she said I’m so sorry,” said Patty."

Indiana State Police leader addresses Delphi murders on anniversary

"The crowded news conference included residents of the community. Rebecca Baxter said she has some serious concerns about how the investigation has been going. She asked Carter a very pointed question. She wanted to know when Carter is going to release video of the suspect possibly caught on Libby’s phone.

Baxter said, “I feel it is not enough for the public. Someone would have been able to come forward to identify him by now, so I think if they release a bit of that video and give us an idea of his stride or his gait, you know, it would help someone may be able to say, ‘I know that guy.'”

Carter said he has no plans to release additional details about the investigation of Abby and Libby’s deaths."

"If you're watching this, and you're responsible, today may be your day," he said. "It might be tomorrow. But I can guarantee your day is coming. I hope that one day when we all meet Abby and Libby, that they tell us that you did well. That's my hope. We cannot allow evil to prevail."

I don't think I've seen this article posted yet. Forgive me if it has been.

New tips, new subpoenas in new year of hunting for Delphi killer

"In the last month, FOX59 Investigates has learned law enforcement served multiple new subpoenas."

"FOX59 Investigates also asked whether the killer fled in a vehicle or did he simply walk away?

Carter answered, "Um, likely. Walked a certain distance, yes. We don't have any indication that he was close by where he parked a vehicle, because we don't have any information on a vehicle."

Some transcript snippets:

7:39 mark:
Supt Carter: In all of my career I don't ever remember having the photograph of the person we believe is responsible. I don't ever remember having the voice of a person that we think is responsible. Or having a sketch of the individual that we believe is responsible. So -if, if all of you closed your eyes for just a moment and you thought of a family member but you didn't think of them from the neck up - you would know how they stand, and the clothes they wore and their posture. You would know that voice. I would know it if was my father, just like you would know it if it was yours. Somebody out there knows who this person is. And I'm, fortunately, I'm not gonna say unfortunately, fortunately we have such a relationship with you that you've kept this front and center. Because we couldn't do it. We just (shaking head), we couldn't do it. But you guys are. I don't think there's multiple pieces to the puzzle, ladies and gentlemen, I think there's one piece, and it's having one individual with the strength to say 'that was my brother' or 'that's my dad' or 'that's my cousin' or 'that's my neighbor, it's my coworker'. That's all we need. And I think we're one piece away. One piece.

9:44
Male reporter: Daniel Nations has been called a person of interest. What does that mean to the Indiana State Police when you say someone is a person of interest?
Supt Carter: Well, I, I, I think the inverse to that statement is until there's somebody arrested we're interested in almost everybody. But we uh, we, we, as you all know, we went out to Colorado and we spent a little bit of time with him. And he's not a person that we uh, care a whole lot about at this moment in time. And that's all I'll say about Daniel Nations.

Approx 12:25
Alexis McAdams: You have the killer's voice, you have his picture, you have a detailed sketch, that's more information than a lot of cases that you guys have had in the past and solved. One year later you have all that information, (inaudible & brief, can't make out what she asks).
Supt Carter: Hmmph. Answer the question for me. I wish I could answer it. I wish I could answer it. I've said, um, locally, statewide and even nationally that, that sometimes our citizenry doesn't trust us. And I acknowledge that and recognize that, that we are not without sin. I know that. And I would just like to think that the person that might know about this maybe doesn't trust us and doesn't want to tell us. That they don't think we can protect them. Oh yeah, we can. Yeah we can. And we've got to work to, to regain that community's trust. These communities trust. And I think that we're getting there. Um, that's not a million dollar question, that's a billion dollar question. And I'd give my life to be able to answer it.
Male Reporter: Have you been able to clear anybody in this case?
Supt Carter: Um, I think that the people that we have talked to at this point in time, we feel confident that uh, there was no involvement.
Female reporter: (inaudible) Why haven't you released more of the video, to give an idea of the gait and how he walked, and I think the comment was you weren't comfortable at that time, you weren't at that point of doing that. One year in, are you now considering doing this to give us more to work with?
Supt Carter: No. We are not. We think that we've released enough now that um, if there's a possibility of identifying the killer based on that photograph we'll be able to do that. And that's all I can say about the video and audio that we have.

14:19
Female reporter: Can you tell me more about this suspect (muffled) do you believe he was a transient, is he in the state, is he anywhere in this country?
Supt Carter: Billion dollar question. I don't know.

(Stopping there for now.)

At the end of the press conference, Carter said he plans to keep the “science piece” of the investigation very close to the vest, adding that he believes the photograph of the suspected killer and the audio of “down the hill” should be enough to identify the suspect.

Also re DN
“We went out to Colorado and we spent a little time with him, and he’s not a person we care a lot about at this moment and time,” said Carter. “Until somebody is arrested, we’re interested in almost everybody.”

[h=1]Police again ask for the public’s help on the one-year anniversary of Delphi murders[/h]
http://www.newsbug.info/monticello_...cle_a0879988-111a-11e8-8d37-db2e8bc3f04c.html

Carter said he hoped the person who killed the teens was watching the press conference, and admitted when asked that he had a message for the killer who might be at home thinking because it had been a year, he had gotten away with the crime.

“Keep thinking that,” he said with a stern look. “Keep thinking that.”

Carter praised the law enforcement officers from multiple agencies that have worked the case and its 30,000 tips and leads.

When asked about the possible involvement of Daniel Nations, Carter said, “Of the people we have talked to at this time, we believe they have no involvement.”

I asked Sheriff Leazenby if investigators thought the killer was an outsider or living among them. "We've discussed that. From the lay of the land, so to say, where this occurred, it would almost have to be someone who is originally from this area and knew how things were laid out, or it's someone who came to our area, if you will, and studied it. For it to be an outsider, yes it's possible, but they sure had to put a lot of work to putting something into this."

Everyone is pleading that anyone, even with the smallest tip, should call police. It could be the break needed to solve this unthinkable crime, and with DNA evidence from the scene, Sheriff Leazenby thinks the case will be solved. "I wish I could say tomorrow. Obviously I can't, but I feel like somewhere down the line we will get justice for these girls."

"A year later: Family of slain Delphi teenager fights for justice

The Pattys are German's grandparents and have been catalysts for spreading awareness about the investigation. They have even taken their message to Dr. Phil and Megyn Kelly, in the belief that someone knows something, they said.

The Pattys sat down recently at their quiet country home, where memories of their granddaughter is around every corner.

"The people who already know about it [the case] have probably done everything they could in their realm," Mike said. "So I want to get a hold of somebody that doesn't know about it. Or I just hope that God will weigh on the heart enough of somebody who does know."

That's the mission right now, the couple said. Talk to whoever will listen."

"For Mike, German and Williams' deaths are about the "what-ifs," he said.

"Is she the one that would have cured cancer?" he said, referring to his granddaughter. "Those are the questions I have because you don't know what she would have done. She was extremely intelligent, and she would have made a difference. We just don't know what that difference would have been because she didn't get a chance to live that out.""
