This case is so disturbing because of the seemingly random nature of it. It brings home how vulnerable we all could be to violence. Wow the composure of the husband is phenomenal. It concerns me though that he says LE haven't given him much info .. It must be that they don't have much to go on and that's sort of terrifying for the community. If I lived anywhere near I wouldn't be able to relax until this murderer is caught. Long time lurker - first post.

Yes, it is cases just like this that makes us have to face stark reality. None of us are really safe anymore .......not even in our own homes. It scares me to death but the truth is if it can happen to the Blackburns it can happen to any one of us at anytime and anywhere.

You will find most family members who have had a loved one murdered aren't given much information by the police. That is just SOP for most police departments. They may talk to them in generalities but will give no specifics. They don't want to give them any information that they may unintentionally repeat to others.

IMO

Her diamind ring isnt big so her band is probably thin and not worth much. If they did take the band that is a real shame because the band is symbolic of the marriage. I hope he can get it back IF it was taken,

Many people are buried wearing their wedding bands.

I wonder if he did have the right debit card number? I am very curious about when it was used. I agree that information could have helped solve this crime.

Somebody just might remember a black guy in a hoodie walking up to an ATM.

Call me crazy, but I'm willing to bet that the person on camera using the ATM machine with Amanda's card found the card on the ground after the killer discarded it. I just can't imagine the killer would be dumb enough to use it. I'm interested in the location the card was found.

Good point . I was just thinking any thief would be an absolute fool to attempt to use a debit card today. Why even take it ? There is nowhere to use it without it being filmed and you know if they don't freeze the account, they are tracking your every move with it. Have there been cases where they did not freeze an account just so the card issuer can track a perp ? I think you may be right and perp threw it out the window and some john doe picked it up .

Totally agree. He probably grabbed her wallet out of her purse when he left, and then chucked whatever wasn't cash. IMO. Burglars rarely take credit/atm cards anymore (what I was told by LE after my house was burglarized).

Israel Keyes did a few years ago, more than once.

So I am reading now that there were dogs in the house, wouldn't a criminal shoot the dogs.
You should watch the presser video I linked in the beginning of the thread. Capt. Converse showed a photo of the dogs licking the cops' hands. No need to kill those dogs because they didn't present a problem.

Beside, dogs aren't always killed. The McStay killer slaughtered an entire family and didn't touch the dogs.

It happened when Carlesha Freeland-Gaither was abducted in Philly almost exactly a year ago. She was alive & with the perp, but he used her ATM card at a bank and gas station 75 miles from the abduction about 8 hours later. They released photos and video the following day, iirc.

He didn't know what it was.He said his wife believed it was a girl. And no what I posted was not a crime. Just thought I would point it out.

What idiot would try to use a stolen debit card at an ATM? Was he just going to stand there trying to guess the PIN? Makes no sense.

Great news! ATM's take your picture!!!

Appreciate your perspective.

What I'm trying to say is that if Davey had wanted to confirm sex of his unborn child he could have done so through autopsy of 12 week old fetus. So I'm saying it appears that he did not request this information, but rather is choosing to operate under their (Amanda's and his) assumption/gut that it was a girl. In the interview he stated that it was still unknown- that they never confirmed gender.

If I were in his shoes- God forbid- I probably would have wanted to know definitely what the sex of my child was. It would be odd for me to go through the rest of my life referring to, mourning, and including in an obituary a child that could perhaps have been the other gender from what I had assumed.

All highlights how different we all grieve I suppose. He must be in utter shock and pain.

could the baby of been shot (mom was shot in torso)?? just a horrible thought

A gun was found a block and a half from their house. No word on whether there is any connection.

"IMPD is investigating a gun discovered a block and a half away from the Blackburn home.

The person took the gun to the Broad Ripple fire station. As part of the investigation, police are testing it for ballistics. At this point there is no indication it's part of the Blackburn case."

Despite local media reports, police say they did not find a gun near the home of Amanda Blackburn.

On Saturday, a man, police said, walked into a fire station in Broad Ripple, 7 miles from the Blackburns' home on Sunnyfield Court, and said he found the gun by the couple's house.

"There is nothing, nothing, nothing tying this gun to this case," said Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Rich Riddle. While multiple media reports have suggested that a handgun was found near the Blackburns' home, Riddle said there's nothing connecting the gun to the 28-year-old pregnant woman's death. He also said he wasn't sure why someone would pick up a gun near a known crime scene instead of calling police.

When will the 911 call be released?

I don't think they release 911 calls when there is an active investigation or potential trial.

So someone took a gun to police saying it had been found near the Blackburn house...

Maybe the person that found the gun did not know it was found near the Blackburns' home/crime scene but just told LE where he/she found it and it was then discovered that the location was near the home. I don't have much trust in the accuracy of reports.
