The following linked articles and YouTube videos are dated November 7, 2024. The videos include statements from Amanda's daughter and from the Scott County sheriff. The family is offering a $1,500.00 reward. Additional information:

Amanda was living with a friend in an RV on Frog Pond Rd, just outside of Scottsburg, IN.

The last family contact with her daughter on September 13. Her family reported her missing on September 24.

Her friend says that he went to the store, and when he returned she was gone.

All of her personal possessions were still at the RV, including her phone, wallet, ID, shoes, clothes and false teeth.

Her daughter said that the RV was a mess and a window unit had been kicked out.

The sheriff said that thousands of man hours have been spent searching for her in the nearby woods. He said they've conducted every search possible, including with cadaver dogs and drones. They have also searched local ponds with boats.

Amanda is the mother of three, including a 6-year-old boy.

ETA: From the WDRB article:

Sheriff Goodin said it's rare for people in Scott County to go missing for this long, and the leads have all dried up.

"This is a true mystery here that we've got," Goodin said. "We can't find her. We can't find any evidence of where she's been. She was last seen walking down the road, and then, poof."

( I wonder who saw her "walking down the road" and when she was seen.)

It looks like Missing People of America used an AI image of her photo. Not sure that's the best idea, sure it's flattering, but like all the heavily filtered Facebook photos we often see here in missing sites, not always the most useful, in my opinion, to identify someone, especially if they are dealing with emotional or medical issues.

The age of 40 and false teeth stood out. Either she has had a drug problem in the past or due to mental/medical reasons avoided dental care for years, but that's a little unusual to see false teeth in someone so young.

In Scott County (only) Court Records the following: (I left out several decided Small Claims court cases that you can view online, as they name other parties not named as being of interest in this case). Only one case is still pending - a charge of driving without a driver's license. Indiana Courts Case Search - MyCase

Remains found in the area where Amanda was last seen. They have been sent for autopsy to ID and determine COD. Positive identification has not yet been made.

November 13, 2024

SCOTT COUNTY, Ind. (WAVE) - The Scott County Sheriff’s Office announced on Facebook Wednesday that skeletal remains were found in a wooded area where a missing woman was last seen in September 2024.

"I don't feel like she got into those woods on her own," Marsha Helton said. "Things like this doesn't happen in Scott County."
I don't think it was cold enough for her to have succumbed to the elements had she gotten lost while away from the RV she was staying in. It's always suspect when the last person to see the missing was someone they were living (or staying) with, and everything is left behind (in this case, her teeth, which is really odd) but that doesn't mean the person was involved as we have learned.

The 5-6 week time frame for the results of the autopsy is more in line with tox screens being run as well, so cause of death may not have been obvious. We know she had a history of alcohol use. However, many species of bacteria, yeast and fungi have the ability to produce ethanol and other volatile organic compounds in postmortem specimens so the potential for that serious complicates the interpretation of ethanol positive results in the deceased.

It's always checked anyway, they just note the probability of ethanol post-mortem in the findings. They'll check for prescription and other drugs as that's standard procedure when cause is in question. Hoping for some closure for her loved ones.

"At this point in time we have a lot of questions. A lot more questions than we do answers obviously," Goodin said.

Martin's family previously told WHAS11 that her belongings were still at home where they also found her air conditioning unit kicked out.

Goodin didn't want to speculate on whether foul play could be involved in Martin's case

I hope before they go crazy with conspiracy theories they'll do just a little research to find out how many missing persons are found very near where they were last seen, even after so-called thorough or extensive searches.

Edit: I just realised she has multiple FB accounts. The most recent is here: Amanda Martin
(AFAIK)

A post on her Facebook account on 7th September 2019 is captioned "Friday sober selfie!!!!! Praise God!!"

While this could also be referring to alcohol, I have a fairly confident hunch (through the false teeth) that she is referring to drug sobriety.

unfortunately even if the area she was ultimately found had been searched previously, that isn't an uncommon occurrence, MOO particularly when in wooded or brushy terrain. She could have become injured or ill and searchers could have missed her. It does happen. :( RIP

Pretty sure we are saying the same thing...

I think your and Tlcyas points are most likely.

I was listening to a video from the sheriff which talked about AM's disappearance and there was a bold emphasis on Scott County being a very safe one.

This can be backed up furthermore by the other case where two outsiders invaded the County looking for drugs and found none.

Judging by these, I assume the most likely case is that it is her, but more likely than not due to natural causes. I'll continue to look into it however.
